how to setup OpenWRT as Access Point

hello welcome to my channel in this video I show you how to set up open wrt as an access point by configuring it as an access point connected devices will be given up addresses from the main router and here are the steps you use an ethernet cable to connect your computer to one of open wrts Lan ports you do not connect the computer to open wrts1 port or internet port in this step you change open wrts land IP address so that it is in the same IP address range as the main router for example in this case the main router's IP address is 192.168.0.1 then I set the IP address for open wrt to 192.168.0.250 to avoid conflicts between the hcp servers you disable it on open wrt make sure to disable DHCP server version 4 and also version 6. follow the steps above to disable the DHCP server your computer lost connection to open wrt because the IP address has changed next use another ethernet cable to connect open wrt to the main router please note that openwrt connection to the main router uses the Lan port you are not using a one port or internet port connected between the main router and openwrt your computer will be assigned a new address from the main router you open any browser and access open wrt using the new up address in case that IP address is 192.168.0.250 now you set up a wireless network on openwrt I set up a name and password on the AC band I then set up a name and password on the n-band now you just need to apply the changes devices connected to the open wrt access point will be assigned addresses from the main router for example if a phone connects wirelessly to open wrt it will be assigned an IP address like 192.168.0.x thus the devices connected to it do not have their IP address ranges changed this is very useful when you want to share printers share files and more thank you for watching don't forget to like And subscribe
