alright so that is my camera that is me controlling it from the command line on a remote computer that's on the same network okay so the first thing we want to do is remove the placement sticker on our camera port here okay and that will expose the port to take the ribbon and we're also going to pop it up like so and that will allow us to put the ribbon into the port so this is my camera here I'm going to use this okay so I'm going to go ahead and remove this tape here okay so I'm going to go ahead and feed the ribbon into the port here and then I'm going to lower the clamp okay so the ribbon is inserted the clamp has been lowered and we should be all set okay so we're gonna run sudo razz pie config and then interfacing options configure connections to periphery and we're going to choose camera would you like the camera interface to be enabled yes okay and so I believe now we need to restart the Raspberry Pi I'm gonna go down to finish yes so I still have the lens on the camera so why don't we take that off and go ahead and try to take a picture I guess it's just gonna be a picture of the ceiling for now okay so we do that from the terminal so let's go - all right sitting put it on the desktop so it's R as pie still - OH and then let's call it new let's call it ceiling dot JPEG and that is my ceiling so it looks like it just took a picture I think I can see it here so I can do those just don't click it alright so that is my ceiling and again this camera is just a generic camera so yeah any any camera that you got on Amazon this approach should work for so that's how you get images okay so now if we want to take a video we could do razzed pi vid - OH my ceiling dot h.264 that is the codec and then the length of time - T is in milliseconds so we could do 20 1 2 3 that should be 20 seconds so that should be my ceiling and then let's try something here yeah seems to be working so we can play this video by doing omx player and then supplying the video name and that is the video that I took so that's how you install and set up a camera module for Raspberry Pi model B+ thanks for listening [Music]
