How To Run A Clothing Brand In 2021

so this is my clothing brand ultra pleats and in today's video i'm going to show you how i started this brand from scratch how long it took me and at the end of the video i'm going to show you all how many i sold in the first 24 hours to start things off these are the two products i'm going to be selling we have the grey pleats as well as the black pleats so both very popular colors monochrome and pretty much go with everything and the reason why i love these pants so much is you can wear them with any style aesthetic so next up you want to add some personal branding to your product i ordered in some labels on the front side we have the ultra pleats logo and then on the back we have my website and let's jump into the sewing and as you saw from my vlog video i bought myself a sewing machine so what i need to do is my labels arrived yesterday just to start sewing in the labels for all of my trousers the only problem is i've never sewed in my life so it's going to be a learning curve i'm going to practice first before i do it on the actual trousers and hopefully it goes all right [Music] i'm so confused so i have just sewn my first line as you can see and as you can probably tell this is beyond less than straight super super bendy so i really need to work on my stabilization skills but for the first time it's not that bad i'm not that like i thought it'd be a lot worse i just need to learn how to do like the double stitching to make the stitch like stay in place but i'm pretty impressed with that [Music] so to increase professionalism i decided to order in some swing tags one little tip is to buy them as business cards they're thicker and they're also cheaper and you attach them just using a simple kimbo gun i shoot them through my label and then on the back you can see i have a qr code you have to pause the video to find out what it does right then boys and girls today i am super excited today i'm going to be shooting the editorial and full lookbook for my clothing brand ultra pleats so for today's editorial i'm going to be shooting with two models my boy toby and our boy hamza i've got three locations and i've got three different style aesthetics three different outfits which i'm completely styling them man i can't wait to show you i've got my boy dan farrow the videographer he's going to be filming the whole thing behind the scenes as well as the lookbook and i'm going to be the photographer because i want everything to be how i see it envision it instead of modeling for once i'm going to be behind the camera station as you can see a completely clean like slate coloured wall very very minimal we'll show off the pants really nicely we're going to get them both in an acne t-shirt each i know it's really cold so a huge shout out to toby and hamza and then after this we're going to head down to castlefield it's gonna look like proper new york vibes and then they get with a smart outfit [Music] we are the second location this is called castlefield proper new york vibes look at it looks like we're in harlem or dumbo underneath the new york train line and yeah we've got them in the smarter outfit so as you can see i'll show you there you go so that's the good thing about these pants you can literally wear it with so many different styles that you can wear them like minimal you can wear them smart and you can also wear casual literally they're the comfiest pants going [Music] it's freezing your house is cold [Music] [Music] [Music] don't you look into the pot i upgraded everything got it unlocked [Music] so right now i'm getting the website photos luckily we built our own home studio in our living room area so i'm rolling down the white paper setting up the light and then i'm gonna shoot some on body shots as well as some flat lays and the nice crispy white background makes it look so professional on your website so me being as unorganized as i am i've decided to do the website on the day of the launch so i've pretty much finished the home page product descriptions but now i've just forgot about doing like the shipping and the payment so hopefully i'll get it all sorted and then ready for the drop day 7pm tonight all right can this get any worse look at the espionage google is completely down so google mail so we got gmail's down i can't connect my domain youtube's down this is just not on for drop day see look even on my screen no temporary error oh my god wait if this ends up up it's gonna have to be tomorrow i'm gonna have to do it tomorrow so whilst google was down i still made sure i was productive by finding a specific shopify theme i wanted to use the photos i wanted to place on the home feed the photos i was going to use for each of the products the product description the measurements getting everything prepared for the drop right then so i think the website is completely done we've solved all the problems google solved itself i finished the website layout i'm pretty happy with all of it there are a few improvements i could probably do but for now i'm super happy with it i need to get on to getting all the packages prepared and everything organized and i'm super super excited for 7pm for the drop like i'm hoping it's gonna be a madness and honestly today's been super stressful but i've absolutely loved it like grinding hard i'm gonna have a little bit of a rest now have some food and then do the rest of the orders clean my room and we're good to go the website's already it's currently five to seven so five minutes before the drop i'm super excited because i've worked so hard for this obviously with the editorial the website myself shooting the website first because i'm building the website pretty much done everything myself apart from the video that dan helped me do i'm gonna smash the market in as soon as it drops at seven and then hopefully we see the sales flying but honestly i hope you've all enjoyed this video and i can't wait to take you along the journey with me with this brand and also the reason why i'm speaking super quickly is because i'm so excited it happens every time i'm really excited it just speaks super quickly so the drop has finally started it is currently seven exactly we've already had our first order which is mad hopefully now we've got ten visitors online so hopefully we'll see if we get some more orders three minutes and now we have three orders already so it's going super well better than i expected i didn't expect there to be an order straight away i thought it'd take like a couple of probably an hour or so so good to see that there's people actually were waiting for the drop i'm gonna keep promoting it on both socials and then just let's see what happens so now for the part that you're waiting for how many pieces did i sell in the first 24 hours i got a grand total of 21 orders which is honestly insane and some of these customers even ordered more than one pair of trousers i can't thank you all enough it was so much better than i predicted i was only predicting like five to ten sales so to get double that is just honestly a madness a huge thank you to everyone and for the time scale as you can see it took me like one week to start my full brand i got my product on the monday and got everything prepared the editorial the label swing tags the website all made in one week i'm so glad that my hard work turned out into some sales and i hope this momentum happens for the future so i spent the morning of the next day packaging up all my orders i made sure that all the products were in perfect tack no marks or no like loose threads then to add a little bit of detail i printed out some photos from my editorial to place in each package and once they were all packaged up i went to the post office so one of the main reasons i made this video was to try and inspire all of you to do something that you've always wanted to do like in the past all my uni friends will tell you that i've always wanted to start a clothing brand but i never bit the bullet and honestly i'm so glad that i finally did it so i made this video to kind of show you all the steps to try and get you to start your own clothing brand or your own business in whatever field it may be and honestly you should do it while you're young like you have less responsibilities now you don't have like kids a mortgage bills to pay so whilst you're young try it take these risks and honestly it's so rewarding once you get it done and to round off this whole video i've just brought out my collection two two
