How to Replace Sliding Screen Door Rollers w/ a Screwdriver

hi everyone in this video we'll replace the rollers on this sliding screen door we'll go into extreme detail so please keep watching first remove the door by lifting and pulling the bottom off the track the right side is stuck so we use a flat blade screwdriver to lift the roller off the truck now we can remove the door we'll install these new rollers you can also use the rollers from the top of the door if they are in good condition to save a trip to the hardware store here is what the corner braces in the screen door look like the rollers clip onto the corner braces like so the tabs or dog ears need to be pry open to remove and install the rollers the only tool we'll need is a number one phillips screwdriver to remove a roller insert and push the screwdriver as you wiggle it side to side to spread open and release the tabs to install a roller insert the screwdriver and use an arcing motion to lift and spread the tabs the screwdriver will be in the way so remove it and insert it from the other end of the roller push the roller towards the tabs and wiggle the roller until the tabs engage with the pigs i'll practice on this cleaner top roller to remove insert and push the screwdriver wiggle it side to side to spread open and release the tabs to install insert the screwdriver and use an arcane motion to lift and spread the tabs remove screwdriver and insert it from the other side of the roller push the roller towards the tabs and wiggle the roller until the tabs engage with the pegs now to replace the old and beaten up bottom rollers if you choose to use the rollers from the top of the door i recommend that you buy new ones on your next trip to the hardware store and install them on the top of the door this way you'll have them ready for the next time i won't need to remember what they look like or where you put them after replacing the rollers reinstall the door you might need to use your finger or a screwdriver to lift the rollers onto the track now a test smooth rolling rollers if this was helpful please drop me a comment here's another video that might interest you
