How to Replace Roof Turbine Vent Heads

in this video I want to show you to replace old and rusty turbine bit heads on your roof for the first step I'm gonna set the ladder where I want to access the roof and I'm gonna do a quick test to make sure it's at the correct angle ideally you want to shoot between three and four times the height compared to the run and you also want to extend the ladder roughly three feet past the edge of the roof so you could have something to grab on to to secure the bottom I use a plank that spans the width of the ladder and I have stakes that go into the ground so it can't slip out once I have the light is situated I tie it up at the top so I can't slide down to the wind then I tie shirring around the turbine head so I could grab it easily and not have to carry it with me up the ladder here I'm just making sure I can get it on the roof safely then I make sure I have my tools and pull the turbine head up to remove the old turbine heads they're typically three screws equispaced around the diameter of it so I just unscrew these then the head can't come off then you just line up the new head there are pre-drilled holes in it so I just line these up with the old holes and I found it easiest to start the screws loosely all the way around to make sure they could fit then you could go back and retighten them you don't want to go too tight or you risk stripping them once all three screws are attached I wiggle it to make sure it's secure and then spin it to make sure there are no obstructions and that's all there is to it but I found a work best is put one foot on the ladder while holding the top post and then you could put the other foot always maintain three points of contact on the ladder for safety thanks for watching
