alright in this video we're going to show you how to do some of the common repairs to the anti-siphon mechanism on this anti-siphon valve before we get started let's just make a note about the fact that we make various different types of anti-siphon valve besides this one here we also made a jar top anti-siphon valve and this video that we're doing today does not apply to this valve I have in my hand right now this uses different internal parts and we'll be making videos for this particular anti-siphon valve at another time but what we're doing today applies only to this valve you can tell that this is the valve that you have because it will have this flow control mechanism at the top and then it also has the screws that are around the valve rather than being something that's a screw top so that's how we're going to do that let's get started to remove this anti-siphon section we've already got ours removed but when you remove yours you're probably going to need a wrench either a pipe wrench or a strap wrench of some kind these are sealed very tightly most people cannot remove them by hand and one thing you may want to also do is just wrap maybe a rag around there so that the teeth of the wrench don't chew this up if that matters to you but anyway we'll get this off and there's a few parts that can be replaced in here you're going to have up at the top there is an o-ring and then here there is this plunger and it also has a small rubber o-ring around it so we've got all those parts here we're going to show you how to replace each one and I guess also there is this cap that can become damaged and leak so first thing let's take a look at this plunger this is a replacement plunger it does not come with the o-ring installed that's a separate part so what you would buy is both those if necessary and the o-ring just sort of fastens over there and it fits into the grooves that are on that piece and then you just set it right in there and then when you replace the lid and notice the lid has a hole there that this fits into it should see correctly and you screw that down for that that Oh ring that's up at the top there you would need to remove that if it's damaged you'll probably get some leaking from here so you'll want to just remove that using a flathead screwdriver or something and then you get the new one and it just seats right in there and you need to press it down too far as you as you actually screw this back on it will seat correctly and then finally the lid obviously you will just take off the damaged lid and replace the new one make sure you screw it down tight maybe get that wrench and give it a just a nice a nice pull so make sure that's on there fastened well and then give it a test any leaks that were there before should have stopped if not there could be some other damage that needs to be taken place and you'll want to contact us give us a call but that's how you fix any of the anti-siphon internals they just take a moment if you have any more questions about this video please hit us up in the comments below and we would be happy to help thanks
