How To Remove Wooden Fence Post Using Farm Jack

okay guys here's what i've got going on here i've got this fence here that was put up a couple years ago and uh it has six by six posts in the ground and just so about six months after the fence was up some of the posts started warping really bad as you can see there's two down there and it worked pretty bad um so what we're going to try to do today is i made up some kind of a platform with uh high one of those high lift farm jacks i'm going to use and i'll show you that here in a minute um but take a look at these posts here you can see that one is out quite a bit that post is out of plumb by nine inches it's six foot tall and from the bottom to the top it warped nine inches actually it was pulling the whole fence apart because it worked so bad so that's what we're gonna do is take that out of here through those posts today with this farm jack here's a farm jack that i have on this platform platform is made out of four by six treated lumber got a bolted downward seven inch lag bolts to hold together so my idea of making this is to make it work so that it goes around that post hole you can hook a chain on that post hook it to this jack and jack it up out of there so this is a brand new farm jack i picked up at director supply so i'll show you this when i get around the post and get ready to jack the post up out of the ground so so here's what i got is everything is set up got the jack on a platform chain two by four braces on top to help support so the jack don't lean forward when you're pulling a post out i've got a couple bolts right there just small lag bolts to hold the jack so don't move around and apply for them then these two by fours are just braces with a big bolt in there some nuts to hold it in place give some some support so we're going to jack it up see if we can get that post out of there okay here you got it you can see it's working it's pulling that post with that concrete out of the ground so you it actually took longer to set this all up that is good to pull the post out of the ground so so there you go i just bought stuff from home depot the wood the jack the tractor supply so that's what you need to do to get the post out if you don't have any kind of machinery or backhoe any kind of excavator works real good so you
