How to RECOVER a DELETED MESSAGE on iPhone, iPad and Mac

the process of recovering deleted messages is exactly the same whether you're on an iPhone or iPad click on edit and choose Show recently deleted if you see filters rather than edit it's because you have filter unknown senders enabled in settings in which case click on filters and choose recently deleted here you can simply select the conversation you wish to restore and choose recover in the bottom corner of the screen unfortunately you can't recover individual messages only whole conversations and as you can see deleted messages are only available for 30 days albeit it may take up to 40 days before they are permanently deleted if you don't see the show recently deleted menu option it's possibly because you haven't installed iOS 16 or iPad OS 16. you can check this by going to settings clicking on General followed by software update if the update isn't available it might be because your device is too old on Mac it's a little bit different in that you click on view from the menu and choose recently deleted if you're trying to recover messages older than 30 days then you can possibly try restoring from an iCloud backup just bear in mind the iCloud backup needs to predate the message that you're trying to recover if you're lucky enough to find a backup that does predate the message you can restore by opening settings choosing General followed by transfer or reset just be wary that this will wipe your iPhone or your iPad so just ensure you don't inadvertently lose any other important information in the process my name is Anthony if you found the video useful I'd appreciate you give me a like and hitting subscribe for lots more quick tutorials on all your favorite apps and devices on this channel I create short videos that give you just the facts without any extra fluff if you have a question or recommendation for a video be sure to drop it in the comments section and you might also be interested in my other top tips for using the messages app or a neat trick for reading articles blocked behind a paywall until next time thank you very much for watching
