How to UNSEND and EDIT a MESSAGE on iPhone, iPad and Mac

no doubt we've all experienced a moment where we've immediately regretted hitting send on a message well now with iMessages you can quickly undo send by long pressing on the message to bring up the quick actions menu and choosing undo send if you manage to delete the message before your recipient opens it all they will see is a notification that you unsent it otherwise if they happen to be in the messages app or open your message before you unsend it they will of course see it before it disappears from their thread you have two minutes to unsend a message and it only works on the blue iMessages not the green SMS messages and only between devices that are on iOS or iPad OS 16 or Mac Ventura devices that are running an older version of the OS will receive the message and it won't be removed you can also now edit a message the same way by long pressing on it to bring up the quick actions menu notice that both you and the recipient will be notified that a message has been edited and both parties can still view the original incorrect message by clicking on the little blue edited text messages can be edited up to five times within 15 minutes after that the option will disappear from the quick actions menu and as before it only works for iMessages not for the green SMS messages and only on the most recent versions of Apple's operating systems naturally you get exactly the same experience in the messages app on iPad simply long press and choose undo send on Mac it's a right click rather than a long press to see the same options and edits work in exactly the same way if you found my video useful I'd appreciate you giving me a like and hitting subscribe for lots more tips and tricks like this one like you I don't like watching long videos that just try and beat the YouTube algorithm by adding lots of unnecessary padding so on this channel you're going to find shorter videos with just the facts and hopefully none of the fluff my name is Anthony if you have any questions be sure to drop them in the comments section and you might also be interested in learning how to get the most out of the workout app on your Apple watch or how to use stage manager on iPad until next time thank you very much for watching
