so it's the aftermath how's the baby tastes like the restaurant better y'all so I'm going to be showing you how I make this delicious plate of Puerto Rican red beans and rice with fried pork chops and those donuts first I'm gonna start with the rice and I just take some vegetable oil and put it on my pot that I've already have on the heat and then as you saw I was cutting up some cilantro and now to the hot oil I'm adding some adobo then I'm gonna add in a couple packets of sauce on and I'm just gonna go ahead and stir that all together and just get that warming up in the pot then I take some minced garlic a couple of big spoonfuls and I put that in there to get that cooking and then I take the chopped cilantro and I throw it in the pot as well and then right here I take half a jar of sliced olives and red peppers and throw that into the pot as well so everything can get cooked together then I grab myself free throw and I get my sofrito fresh from Toni's I absolutely love it still delicious and I'm just putting about five large spoons into the pot I mean these days these are hefty spoonfuls and then I'm just gonna stir everything all together and then I take my 16 ounce can of red beans that I've rinsed and throw them into the mixture as well and just stir everything all together and then I'm going to take my rice I have about 4 cups of rice here that I have rinsed as well just to get all the grit out and I throw that into the pot and I take a small can of tomato sauce and throw the whole thing in there and then I just mix everything all together then I add about a can to a can and a half of the tomato sauce I just fill that can with water and I pour it in the pot and then I didn't like the way was smelling like it smelled delicious don't get me wrong but I need a more sofrito so I added some more sofrito and then here is the trick if you can get the spoon to stand up without falling that's how you know that you have the right amount of ingredients and liquid and everything so while the rice is simmering here's a little trick that I wanted to show you all how I saved myself rethought because if you just put it in the fridge like that it's gonna go bad so I like to take an ice cube tray and put my sofrito in the ice cube tray and this will help to keep it to keep it fresh for longer so I put it in the ice cube tray I wrap it with foil and then I put it in the freezer and it will last longer so here I'm just mixing all the rice together and then I'm gonna turn the flame down as low as it can go and it's just gonna cook for about 40 to 45 minutes I'm depending about how you like your rice about halfway through I come and I mix it around and then I'll put the top back on it so it can continue cooking low and slow is the key for that rice here I have some pork chops and I'm just seasoning with some adobo some onion powder and some garlic powder very simple seasoning but together they taste delicious you want to make sure to season both sides of the pork chops and then I'm gonna go ahead and get a large pan and turn the flame on about medium-high heat and I like to add avocado oil because it has a high smoke point and since I'm frying the pork chops the oil won't burn in the pork chops won't burn everything will cook nicely together so then I just add the pork chops into the pot and while the pork chops are frying I like to turn them every once in a while you know keep them browning on each side so while the pork chops are frying you can kind of see in the background a little bit I'm gonna get started on the stone is these are green plantains that I just grabbed a really large plantain and I cut it in half and I'll score it on both sides and then this is one reason why I love my nails because it makes it so easy to open these because it's usually pretty tough and then I'll just open them up and then I go ahead and grab a knife and I will cut them into about 1 inch cubes well not cubes but rounds and I do that to the whole a tunnel and then I have another pot heat and heating with oil and then I will just put the plantains into the oil and they go ahead and brown maybe about four to five minutes and then I go ahead and I will flip each plantain each piece of the plantain so I can finish browning on the other side because you want both sides nice and golden-brown and then once they're brown on both sides I just take a plate and line it with some paper towel and then I'll go ahead and take each of the rounds and place them onto the paper towel just so the grease could drain out before we smash them and then here I grabbed my throw stone Etta its you can use anything use a plate you can use a cup but I really like this I did invest in one because it just makes smashing them so easy with my family I make tons of tostones I've made mini he body throw so it's just really easy and convenient to have one of these so I smash each of the plantains and then I'm gonna go ahead and place them back into the hot oil so they can finish cooking and then while those Lana's are frying up we're gonna go ahead and make my delicious ketchup mayo so I just take a couple spoonfuls of mayonnaise any mayonnaise that you like will do and I take a hefty squirt of ketchup and in my catch a Mayo I use a secret ingredient only I'm not conditionally all that because that's a secret ingredient and I go ahead and I mix it all up and then once that the stoners are done I will take them and put them back on to the plate with paper towel just so all the grease can drain out and we don't have greasy tostones and what I like to do for my throw stone is when they come out of the hot oil is hit them with some salts because it just adds another layer of flavor and that is oh that the stone is aren't done here are the pork chops as I said just brown them on both sides until they are done to your liking and Here I am serving up Jose's politte pork chops the rice that alone is topped with the ketchup mayo and of course of course of course for a plate like this you cannot forget the alwah got this so I just put half an hour got there on his plate and here is the finished plate for dinner for week in red beans and rice fried pork chop and the stone is with ketchup mayo enjoy all right dinner is served how's the taste what do you have to drink of it and then here because you have to add that to the race
