logged into GitHub on my profile under the packages tab which shows only one npm package I previously published in order to publish Docker images we need a service token so click on your profile go to settings scroll down to the bottom on the left hand side developer settings personal access tokens tokens classic generate a new token generate a new token classic name your token ASDF is good enough for me write packages read packages delete packages all the way down to the bottom generate token copy the token you won't be able to retrieve it again I have a very simple container that has a single entry point.sh which just Echoes back hello from ghcr first thing we need to do is log into ghcr.io Docker login username my GitHub username password paste the token type in ghcr.io hit enter now let's build this container Docker build period we're going to tag it with ghcr.io forward slash bmorris and Dev or whatever your username is slash my Hello World ghcr hit enter finally Docker push paste in the new name of the image and hit enter back up in GitHub we have this new my Hello World GCR image ready for us to use
