today I want to give you some of my top tips for Tactics Ogre reborn after putting well over 100 hours into the game and several more hours into researching the game and reading through your comments in previous videos so let's start with one of perhaps the more nuanced mechanics in the game Elemental affinities my first tip is to pay attention to these Elemental affinities and use them correctly so how do we do that first off before you go into a battle take a second and use the Scout option to look at the enemy units and see what their element types are typically a majority of the enemy units will have one element type while the rest will have a variety of two or three others use this information to select a team of your own that has at least two or three units that have the element that is strong versus the enemy team's dominant element this simple change will allow you to increase your damage output as a unit who has ice affinity for instance against an enemy who has wind Affinity will do more damage than normal no matter what attack you're using this damage increase should be about 30 percent the next Point concerning Elemental affinities is to equip your casters with magic that matches their Affinity now I've mentioned to this in a previous video but it Bears repeating I've done some more testing since then and even if you are using a Caster that is Fire based let's say against a water-based enemy using a fire spell will still do more damage coming from a fire Mage than a lightning spell this is true even though you would think it would make more sense for the Lightning Spell to do more damage since water is weak to lightning this said though you'll also need to take into account the physical damage type of a spell as many do either Pierce crush or slash damage as well so depending on the armor the enemy has equipped certain spells may do more or less damage in general though your Mages are most effective when specialized my advice is to have multiple casters with different affinities so that you always have a good Caster option for each battle the final point when it comes to Elemental affinities has to do with weapon finishers oddly unlike spells Elemental finishers will do more damage against their counterpart element even if coming from a unit that is not of the stronger element so for instance a lightning finisher such as lightning strike from two-handed swords will still do more damage to water Affinity units than a wind finisher from a neutral ice unit however using the lightning finisher from a lightning unit will still gain the greater attack bonus in this example I know this all sounds rather complicated so the best advice I can give when it comes to finishers is to just select each one and Target the enemy to see how much damage will be done do this with each of your finishers until you find the one that does the most damage generally speaking this should be the finisher whose element is strong against the enemy's element as it gains a 100 percent attack bonus in this case moving on now to my next tip which is to use skills that reduce recovery type or RT spells like Boon of swiftness or skills like the white Knight's velocity shift are very powerful this is because reducing recovery times on your units moves up their turns giving them the opportunity to potentially go before several enemies that would have gone before them using these skills multiple times can result in you getting extra turns on your enemy thus giving you better action economy more turns equals more damage it's as simple as that a good strategy can be to use two or more white knights in your party on each side of your team so that when your velocity shift goes off most of your team can gain the benefit using Boon of swiftness can be good for giving your more powerful units extra speed and allowing them to attack more often and thereby increase your overall damage output and speaking of damage output that brings me to the next tip [Music] keep your equipment updated if you've watched my video on building strong characters you will have already heard this one but it is one of the best tips and one of the easiest ones to implement make sure you check the shop and crafting menus every time new items become available as every increase in survivability and damage output is helpful and will give you a slightly easier time I have a couple more tips coming up that will help you with this one as well so I will talk about those here in just a minute but first let's talk about boss battles boss battles can be a real pain sometimes due to how tactics are reborn uses the card system to buff these bosses making them Uber powerful compared to normal units this is how a boss should feel of course but how do we deal with that high damage output especially on bosses who have counter attacks that do two or three times the damage that we do to them the answer is patience give your Amelia units time to charge up their finishers and then move in and attack counter-attack does not go off against finishers meaning not only are you doing more damage but you are also not taking the 200 or 300 damage counter attack a good round of three or four finishers can ruin a boss or at least weaken them enough to finish them off the next round another good boss killer is spells since these can usually do okay damage to a boss and are fired from a distance they are another good option [Music] this next tip is one of the ones I promise that will help keep your team's equipment up to date and that is to choose a core team of four to eight units to use in every battle first off this makes keeping equipment updated easier because you can prioritize these units first so that you always have a core team fully equipped the next advantage to having this core team is that it will make picking units for battles so much easier if all you do is just swap out a handful of supporting units based on the battle's details rather than your entire Team every time having this core team can go a long way toward giving you some focus in a game that has so many viable options that they can lead to analysis paralysis next up don't underestimate the value of healing and Revival items by the time you reach the mid game the healing provided by clerics becomes subpar and you are much better off using mending salves and later mending Essence to heal as these provide much better HP recovery in addition you should keep blessing stones on as many units as possible after using a blessing Stone the revived unit gets to act immediately and because of this there have been multiple times where I've had two three or more units down and then simply went around the room Reviving and healing everyone while the position of enemy units can make this difficult once it's done you essentially have a fresh start with half the enemies this next tip certainly isn't necessary to have a successful playthrough but it does make it much more interesting make sure to take the time to recruit unique units like dragons beasts wind units and the like these units give you more options on how to approach battles and are just fun to use dragons are great tanks Griffins and winged units give you ridiculous mobility and other units like lizardmen give you access to some unique classes like the hoplite recruiting and auctioning off dragons and beasts also unlocks unique items in the shop and auctioning dragons in particular puts Elemental orbs in the shop which leads to recruiting to neb once she starts appearing in chapter four so don't miss out on these opportunities the next tip is the second of the tips I mentioned that would help with getting the best equipment for your units the infinite goth trick many say that this is a bug but I don't know about that as of the recording of this video this trick still works and the game has been out for over two months though I could be wrong and maybe this will get patched out soon but as of right now it still works so as soon as you get the way of the Genji's recipe from defeating darza at cadrega Fortress in Chapter 2 you can make millions of goth in just a couple of minutes how do we do this well it's as simple as going to the nearest town opening the shop and then crafting as many Petra dark blow guns as you can then you sell them back to the shop which you can do for double what it costs to craft them rinse and repeat as many times as you like this money can then be used to equip your units and buy all the healing items you will ever need this obviously makes the game a little easier and could be considered cheating but you can do the same thing by farming the frampa Wildwood for hours upon hours so it's up to you how long you want it to take to afford all that equipment and speaking of equipment take advantage of status effects and especially weapons that inflict them status effects can be very powerful when you inflect them especially things like poison or breach whether a unit can actually inflict a status effect generally relies on them having a high mind stat but certain skills allow you to improve that chance or guarantee it altogether the concentration skill for instance will give you a thirty percent increase in chance to inflict statuses but skills that guarantee a 100 chance to hit like Eagle Eye or fearful impact will allow your next regular attack to always inflict the status effect present on your weapon the most common example of this would be a terror Knight using a claymore and fearful strike which inflicts breach and fear at the same time greatly debuffing the enemy's attack and defense another great debuff skill is the white Knight's paralysis blade which inflicts stun with every regular attack he makes there are many more combinations of weapons skills and status effects to discover so make sure to experiment from time to time and find what works best for you love them or hate them buff cards are an integral part of the game in reborn and my advice would be to not underestimate them a physical up card or a magic up card increases their respective attacks by 50 percent and these stack enough of these cards on one of your units can essentially make them a boss but the same is true for enemy units and it's worth trying to prevent them from picking these up the auto scale cards too are really good for a unit who has strong Auto skills like the White Knight with velocity shift or The Swordsman with Mighty strike and preempt pick up a couple Auto skill cards and these guys will use these skills pretty much every turn finally the MP cards can be good to get your MP back a little faster but I generally consider these the lowest priority for buffing my units so even if you don't want to use these cards at least try to prevent the enemy from getting their hands on them or you could be in for a much tougher fight now for just a couple quick bonus tips first up did you know that archers can actually shoot farther than the highlighted spaces when you have an attack selected the damage appears to be reduced at these farther ranges but if your Archer is on Higher Ground than your target your damage is increased this means that even at extended range your Archer can still do standard damage the second bonus tip has to do with recruiting the distance you attempt to recruit from matters the farther away you are from the unit you are trying to recruit the less your chance for success always move directly adjacent to the unit you want to recruit and have it at 10 percent or less Health before you use a recruit skill this will give you the highest chance for success and now to help my chance for Success if this video is interesting or helped you out
