How to Plan a Trip to Greece | GREECE TRAVEL GUIDE

you're planning on traveling to Greece well I went on an epic summer Adventure in Greece and it felt like living in a movie in this video I'm going to share with you everything you need to know for planning your own adventure degrees including the Greek Islands let's go [Music] how do you get to Greece I flew directly from Washington Dulles Airport to Athens Greece with United it was really easy really streamlined and then I spent a few days in Athens exploring the city and fighting off jet lag how do you get around in Greece the public transportation is amazing I would recommend walking or the Metro I use the metro to get from the airport to my accommodation in Athens you could also take Uber or a taxi but public transport is amazing and then on the islands I would recommend renting a car there are also options that people get around with Scooters or ATVs just be careful if you you do decide to do that they also have buses to get around which is a great budget friendly approach or taxis but those are very very expensive on the islands they did not have Uber as far as I saw on the Greek Islands so that is something to be aware of and prepared for what time of year to visit summer is a peak travel time in Greece August specifically is the month that all Europeans travel everyone from everywhere else travels so August is definitely Peak if you want to go in August you will have more crowds more expensive prices and that's actually exactly when I went but it's still really really fun something to keep in mind is that Greece is unbelievably hot and dry like I have never experienced heat dryness and Sun like that before sometimes like throughout the day like especially in the mid-afternoon I felt as if my skin was sizzling like you really need your sun protection and sunscreen and just like layers when you go there of sun protection what did you pack so like I said in the previous Point sun protection in Greece is a must bring your own sunscreen from home I would recommend and also I would strongly recommend good walking shoes especially in Athens in the city um in Europe you're going to be walking around a lot and so good walking shoes are really really essential especially on those Cobblestone walkways and paths everywhere where should you go where are the best spots to see so first I'm going to start with the best spots to see in Athens you have the Acropolis Parthenon the palka neighborhood Mount likabetes or the rock of Athena at Sunset the Panasonic Stadium Herod Atticus odion the ancient Agora of Athens Philipp hojos Hill the Temple of Poseidon at Sunset monasteraki neighborhood the national Gardens sine Paris Ariel pagas the rock of Justice at Sunset the Temple of hephaesitis is the best preserved Ancient Temple in Greece and you will find it inside the ancient Agora and the Temple of the Olympian Zeus so I would recommend spending two days exploring Athens I found this a perfect amount of time before popping over to the Greek Islands now I would recommend three days at least on each of the islands that you choose to visit I have videos on each of the Greek Islands that I will be linking right up here that goes more in depth with a vlog Style Adventure on each of those islands if you decide that that's where you want to go I've have traveled to four of the Greek Islands Mykonos iOS Santorini and Milos and I wrote down a little breakdown of what I felt the vibe of each one was to help you plan your trip to yours so I felt mikunos was more of like the expensive party luxury Vibes I found it had a mix of both Honeymooners and also like solo Travelers looking to party but mykonosa's Vibe was definitely more like like just upscale luxury party and then it's fun and if that's what you're into then like it is the spot for that next EOS it was was still party Vibes but also cute picturesque Town nice beaches more single party Vibes on EOS but yeah that was that was the vibe that I found with EOS next we have Santorini Santorini is the one that you feel with the picture perfect it's the one that's all over Instagram and if you talk to a lot of the locals they'll say that Santorini is not Greece that's not the typical grease and it's almost something that I skipped but my sister went she was like you gotta go see it and I'm really glad I saw it I did not know that it would have that much of a mountain scale and the way that the homes are built on the cliff I think it's just so unique and breathtaking I did a sunset sailing Excursion along the coast and got to look at the cliff from the water and it's just so breathtaking and beautiful and like I said each of my videos has a breakdown of my experiences on each island and the last one Milos Milos is the best island for nature and Adventure lovers there were a lot of Honeymooners on Milos as well Greece in general was a lot of honeymooner Vibes but also a lot of like solo party Travelers the nature in Milos was the most beautiful the blue water beaches were just stunning so strongly recommend Milos definitely be sure to check out my video on Milos where I share with you the boat tour that we did there that was some of my favorite days of summer just the adventure was so incredible and we also went on the fastest speedboat in all of Greece that's crazy next how long should you go for so we went for two weeks and visited four Islands I would recommend going for around that time but maybe visiting two or three islands more in depth for our trip it was really really great because we got to get exposure to a bunch of different places but you also want to take into account the transit time from getting to place to place so how to get around from Island to Island I would recommend looking into sea Jets speed boats you can also check on fairy Hoppers so if you just Google it I have my ticket right here but fairy Hopper basically will show you all the routes for the different ferries I booked with sea Jets and that was the most premium most on time also more expensive but it it was a really great experience on board and as someone who was a little bit nervous about possibly getting motion sickness I found that I was fine on the sea Jets because they go the fastest and so you don't feel motion sickness when you don't feel the waves of the water I also always tried to sit somewhere that was by a window and to have air conditioning on you as well is really helpful something else I would recommend is looking out not down at your phone and I also get C bands off of Amazon that I don't know if it's a placebo but those help me where should you stay so we ended up booking all of the hotels that we stayed at off of booking.com I'm normally the type of traveler that tries to go for airbnbs but I found that the hotel options available on booking.com were the best for Greece as far as a great place to stay safe great value for your money so I would strongly recommend checking out booking.com and the names of the different places we stayed at are linked in my Vlogs as well and lastly what foods to try Mediterranean food just makes my heart so happy the food and grease was so delicious Greek salads hummus Heroes just everything everything eat all the food in Greece it's so fresh it's so delicious and it's just like apparently it's Heroes and not Gyros that's another thing too because here in the United States we say gyro we're gonna get a Greek Gyro but apparently they say Heroes um but yeah try all the food in Greece it is so delicious the Souvlaki it's so good just read a few reviews and go check it out overall that is my guide to traveling to the Greek Islands and Greece in general I hope this was helpful there are a couple places in Greece that are so high on my
