editing UVS is rarely a fun process here's another trick that saved me a few times from hours of UV unwrapping start by loading in your texture and add mapping and texture coordinate notes if you have node Wrangler just hit Ctrl T and it will do it automatically so I don't have UVS we'll need another way to control the mapping create an empty object and plug it in the texture coordinate node also switch from UV text coordinates to object to fix our decal from repeating all over the car change the texture mode from repeat to extend all we're left to do is adjust the position and scaling of the texture using the empty object we created just be careful when using text or number decals as they project through the whole object you might need to create a separate material to fix those decals here's a little bonus we can map procedural textures like gradients the same way and with the help of a core ramp node we can create all sorts of designs without having to paint a single texture after you've set up all your textures just parent all the empty objects to your car model and you're good to go subscribe for more tutorials and thanks for watching
