what is up guys van hollen back again with another video and today we're jumping straight into it we're talking about MEPs right everybody's scared of it everybody hears these horror stories everybody's like how do I pass MEPs how do I not fail MEPs well that's exactly what we're going to talk about in today's video so stay tuned and without further ado let's get to it [Music] you alright guys so like I just said right MEPs right this is considering that you've already talked to the recruiters you've already taken the house Papp you're literally going up to MEPs right you're at the hotel you got to wake up in the morning you're gonna get there right this is what this video is about right you're already there you know waiting in line right so what's gonna happen but before we get into that I just want you all to know that there's a good chance that if you're already at MEPs you know you're probably gonna make it through you guys the recruiters wouldn't waste their time sending somebody you know to MEPs if they didn't feel like they were 100% ready or if they didn't feel like they weren't wasting their time you know because they have a they have a good eye of weeding people out like that like they know who's serious they know who's not right they send the serious ones a mess you know this is how it works you know unless your recruiters a little shady and they're like oh you know we're gonna send this guy out you regardless which does happen sometimes but most of the time they send you because they think you're ready you know what I mean and guys most of the people that go to Memphis you know pass you know there's only a few that get kicked back you know every now and then for a couple of things and even if they do get take back chances are they could get a waiver you know get whatever issue they have waived and you know they're allowed to you know go in and what a waiver is is just pretty much like what the Army's willing to overlook you know and you know they sign it off and then you go up to MEPs and you go on to like square into the military you know what I mean and if you guys want a video on waivers specifically just comment down below and I'll make one you know after this video you know what I mean but yeah guys so jumping into it what's the process like it Maps and how can you like ensure that you pass each little you know little stage you got to go into right because there's different like areas right or stages pretty much so first off you're gonna be sitting in a room right you know there's gonna be army military Air Force Coast Guard things like that there and they're gonna just pretty much like have little liaisons right for whatever branch you're gonna be going to I'll be speaking primarily towards the army cuz that's what I went through and that's what I'm familiar with but uh right they set us down and then the army liaison came and got like all the army people they made us line up and we went into this room right they gave us like an ID sticker with like our name social things like that you know they stuck it on us you like a little or they gave us a little necklace you know where we put it in and they gave us a folder right and in this folder it was like all the forms that you're pretty much gonna need to fill out at each station you know what I mean and that's pretty much the first step right and after that say you haven't taken the house fab yet you'll take it that in there and you'll see whatever score you get right hopefully at this point you've studied if you guys want a video on studying for that I've let me know down below but yeah if you pass cool you'll move on and you'll continue on with the process if you fail they're probably gonna kick you back and you're gonna have to come back another time or retake the eyes that you know what I mean but yeah so that's the initial steps guys that's first thing it matters right granted this is really really early in the morning you're gonna wake up at like 4:00 in the morning before like all this right and then around this time it's gonna be around like 6:00 right you've taken that as fat gotten your folders things like that so now you start the actual like physical portion right the all the stations are gonna be testing yeah right it's broken up into a few different things and it could vary on the order that you go in depending on how many people there are you know things like that etc but for the most part this is like a general overview and just things that you can do till I just ensure that you're in the best health you know best shape to make it through each of these stations right so this is a little kind of in-depth video I know most most videos just talked to you about like this that or the other but I'm trying to break it down fully you know so you know what to expect and you're not as nervous when you get there right but jumping into it right so first it's gonna be like blood pressure and heart rate right you know they hook you up to the Machine you know they put a pulse ox on you or they test your pulse rate you know some other way but they're gonna get those numbers right see if you have high blood pressure or low blood pressure just make sure you have a good balanced diet you know if it doesn't run in your family cool you know just things like that they're just there to take your vitals pretty much and then once you finish with blood pressure and pulse rate you're gonna move on tuition right so vision they test for a couple of different things they're gonna have they're gonna testing for color blindness right to see your color money because if you are color blind it does disqualify you from certain jobs in the military I don't know exactly which ones off the top of my head but I just know it does right but you'll know if you're color blind able to tell you you know there and if you know you know and then I'll also test your deaf perception right they'll put you through a couple little tasks you know like which circles darker than the other circles things like that it's not really it's not really that bad I don't think it's like an automatic disqualifier and if it is you know you probably could get a waiver for it and then they'll also test your fart and your sight in this right guys and something ever has to mention before is a bring important documents so that recruiter tells you to bring right so like your social security you know your birth certificate ID valid law valid form of identification pretty much driver's license things like that and for the vision your prescription if you wear glasses or contacts bring those as well those are some items that you should bring with you to mess right and your prescription if you have it you could call your optometrist see if you can get it from them but it's good to take up there it help speed up the process a little more you know what I mean and uh so yeah that's pretty much what they test on vision right you're far nearsightedness death perception any color blindness and then after vision you're gonna move on to hearing right and I can't tell you how many times I've been in this machine and just thought I was like hearing things when I really wasn't but I just stay calm right trying to breathe too hard because if you're breathing heavy it's gonna try and it's gonna like drown out the sounds that you're hearing ears because it's a soundproof room that they put you in put little headset on you you have to click right you're gonna be like okay cool I hear beep yeah click beep click beep click you know what I mean and for some people they do make it through for some people they don't right and they might have like bad hearing or maybe they fell asleep I know I've fallen victim a falling asleep during hearing test it's it's just so boring you guys oh my god but um other than that guys it's super simple right and say you do have like a minor hearing problem though either claim to come back next time try it again right or they'll do another one immediately after or you know it's a little more you know they can't really figure it out you know they'll be like ok we're gonna send you to get screen and maybe you'll get a waiver for it right and you'll get put in for a waiver and most of the time the waivers will come back good but if not then hey you know outta luck but don't worry about that guys for the most part you will be good ok and so after hearing you then move on to briefing and breathalyzer right guys and so briefing and breathalyzer pretty much what this is Bri is there gonna sit you down in a room right they can give you a packet and there's gonna be a proctor right he's gonna be asking you all these questions like have you ever done this this or that you know like have you ever like had any crimes and it's very very important guys that when you were answering these questions you answer them the same exact way that you answered them when your recruiter was asking you these questions right your recruiter you know he's he's on your side he's trying to put you in the army right so if you have it told you recruit or something tell your recruiter right that way they can help you with you know everything they can tell you what's good what's not good like hey say that don't say that you know what I mean and you want to make sure that your answers match up with what you told your recruiter because if they don't match up they're gonna be like okay well you know this is kind of weird it's not matching up with what he told the recruiters you know this guy's lying or the recruiters lying you know so try and keep your answers as streamlined as possible and as you know hit the nail on the head as possible guys because you want to make sure they match up if they don't can be a bad time right so stay calm and they're gonna try and scare me like oh if you're lying bah blah it can be a ten thousand dollar fine don't worry about that focus on the answers you gave your recruiter right you can't go wrong if you answer the same way you answered the recruiter you know what I mean so do that and you'll be golden on the briefing portion okay then after that you have the breathalyzer right they're gonna see if you're drunk you know what your blood alcohol content level is at the moment and just pretty much see if you're good right I advise don't take any supplements the day before or even the two days before or you know just anything that's gonna like mess up you know your your body's natural balance right so don't take any supplements all right you're gonna blow into it a good rule of thumb is the open side goes to you you just blow it it's gonna tell you your levels you're gonna be good I doubt anybody's gonna go super trash to MEPs you know it happens but I doubt y'all are gonna do that you know what I mean hey guys so breathing and breathalyzer after that you then move on to a blood test and your analysis right so pretty much you're just gonna draw a couple of vials of blood you know the test your blood make sure you're clean and make sure not any steroids you're not on any of this that or the other and same for the piss test right the urinalysis you're gonna pee in a cup they're gonna send to labs make sure you weren't smoking doing okay doing any type of drugs right make sure you're clean pretty much again guys good tip right so you don't get disqualified in meb's is tell your recruiter if you're doing drugs when they ask you have you done any drugs in the past or recently tell them yes because chances are they're not gonna report you to the cops because they wouldn't do that in the first place they want you to go to the army and they're done I like work with you they're gonna be like okay well you'll be clean in this many days cool we'll send you up then all right so talk to recruiters be forthcoming with the recruiters they are trying to put you in the military they are on your side for the most part guys like they're on their side but they're on your side as well because getting you in is you know working for them but yeah guys be honest tell them that that's like I can't I'm stressing that a lot because it's true tell them that like tell them like hey yeah I've been doing drugs because when you go up to MEPs no chances are they would have waited long enough for you be clean and you know when they asked you up there you tell the same thing that you told the recruiter and you'll be good all right so be honest with the recruiter Maps don't tell them anything you haven't told your recruiter all right guys a lot of people get scared at maps they're like oh you're gonna go to jail no like stick to what you told your recruiter and you'll be fine right because everything you've told a recruiter they probably already told MEPs or it's in your file so they're tracking whatever you've told them not what you haven't so keep that in mind right so blood test your analysis right pretty simple get a couple Bob's blood drawn and you piss in a cup it's pretty much it so after that you then move on to the weigh-in and range of motion portion right guys so this is when you go into the room you strip down to your underwear pretty much right and they're gonna weigh you right and depending what branch you're gonna be going to it's gonna be a little different on the weigh-ins like how much weight you're allowed and how much tape you're allowed but if for the army in general right if you're over a certain amount of weight you're gonna get taped right they'll tape your neck and they'll take your your abdomen right here right and that'll give you them your body fat percentage and you're only allowed a certain amount right I believe when I went in you were allowed of 26 percent body fat to join the military and then depending on your age it was like like 20 percent 22 percent once you're actually in the military but guys your recruiters won't send you to the MEPs your recruiters won't send you to maps if they think you're overweight or you're not gonna make weight intake they will work with you they have the Future Soldier program delayed Entry Program most recruiting stations do do pts on certain days so they'll get you in shape before they send you the maps like I said when they send you the maps they think you're ready they think you're gonna pass so don't be stressing about Leo what if I fail above all just stick to your diet and you'll be good you'll pass way in and you'll make it through all right this is to reassure you this is what this video is for is to reassure you that you're gonna be good and you're thinking too much about it just go in there get it done and you'll swear in for the most part right but yeah so the way you write and after they weigh you that's going to move on to the range of motion test right this is where you hear like oh the duck walk or like all these stupid different little stretches they're gonna have you do right like okay like one heel in front of the other right you're gonna be walking things like that and that's pretty much it guys they'll do a pretty extensive range of motion tests right they're actually very thorough on this they want to make sure you're not flat-footed they want to make sure you have good mobility and all your arms and joints and things like that so it's good it's just part of the process you know what I mean and once you do the weigh-in once you do the range of motion you're gonna move on to the actual physical with the doctor right so this part is kind of important right because you're gonna be going through right you finished everything right they got all your paperwork it's all filled out they're gonna be looking through all of this and be like oh well you've got a little trouble of doing like the duck log or something or you had like you know something come back on your labs right and they're gonna be asking you these doctors are not your friends they are not there to try and help you some might be but like nine out of ten times these doctors are trying to disqualify you right so how to get through these these medical professionals pretty much right is stick to the script right like whatever your recruiter told you whenever you told your recruiters stick with that guys like if you told them that you did you know like you smoked maybe like you know you know a couple of marijuana's back in the day like okay cool you told your recruiter that and he's gonna tell you like okay so just once or twice right and you're gonna be like yeah okay cool and then this would you tell your doctor or if they're gonna be like oh I see you've got a nice er back then right cuz like I told my recruiters that I had knee surgery right so that was on my file and the doctor asked me about it I was like yeah it happened to you you're like I'm fine like I'm good right like perfect right and if they ask you about other things there's like are there other injuries that you want to disclose at this moment if you didn't tell your recruiter don't tell them right it's probably not that big of a deal if they asked you like Oh have you ever suffered from depression and like say maybe back in high school you did or something right or are you like say they ask you are you suffering with depression like right now right so but like back in high school you did but at the current moment you're not you're not suffering from depression you know what I mean so don't say that like literally they only know as much as you tell them guys these doctors will look for any little thing to nitpick and to get you out and to disqualify you or like make the process harder for you guys so do not tell them anything that you have not told your recruiter guys don't let them trick you don't let them scare you oh we'll send you Jill if you're lying you know we'll find out like trust me no they know what you tell them guys and there might be certain cases where they dig a little deeper but that's usually not the case guys so like I promise you stick to the script you'll be fine with the doctors they're just gonna ask you a few questions make sure you're good pat you on the back send you on your way all right after that guys pretty much you're done that's the physical portion that is like a majority of MEPs like right there guys like that that's it and then once you do go through all that right you're gonna do a couple more admin stuff just sign some papers do this end the other then you're gonna go to the army liaison or whatever military French liaison you're part of and then you're actually gonna sit down and if you haven't already because some of the recruiters can spot your MOS beforehand but if you haven't you'll be able to pick your MOS right they'll tell you what's available like hey this is what you got alright pick one and I would do researches on like a bunch of MOS is that you're interested in for maps that what you're prepared I highly recommend that do you research you don't wanna get stuck with a job that you hate alright and yeah once you pick your job guys like like literally like an hour or two later or like whenever they're set to sworn-in you're gonna step into the room you're gonna raise your right hand and you're gonna swear it guys you're gonna be part of the military the United States military and you I might have taken a while because Maps is a long boring process but I promise you you will make it through it if you follow the steps in this video you do everything I told you and you know should you end up with the waiver like okay cool you're probably so I'm gonna get in with the waiver alright guys and I wanted to redo this video I think I made one like a while back but it was time this is a little bit all over the place this was more streamlined talking about step by step gave you some good tips and I really hope you guys enjoyed this video like all y'all that are getting ready
