How to Organize Your Cabinet/Pantry for Less than $10

all right welcome to my kitchen I am NOT making a cocktail tonight I am drinking cocktail but I am going to be mixing it up so tonight I'll be showing you behind the scenes look at my kitchen specifically my unorganized cabinet space if you've been to my house you've probably opened the cabinet and thought holy crap she's unorganized but I just didn't know what to do I didn't want to face it when we bought this house or we're looking for a house we were like the only thing we have to have is a pantry because we're gonna have it in our old house and we bought a house again without a pantry so we really need to optimize our cabinets bays which we have a ton of cabinet space since we have the basement bar and we have the upstairs kitchen and we have multiple closets but this cabinet here specifically I'm going to show you in a second how bad it is is what needs work [Music] it's so bad literally like every time I go to pull something out something falls out and it's driving me nuts so I posted on Instagram and said I needed tips on what to do and multiple people said buy baskets or organization containers I'm like well that seems really silly like very simple like why didn't I do this before but it's one of those things I just didn't want to face we've had this house since April and it's a December so today I went to Dollar Tree thanks to the suggestion of my friend Nikki and I found some dollar stuff so I'm gonna show you how to transform your cabinet space in under ten dollars [Music] from the Dollar Tree I got three of these little containers for a dollar two of this size for a dollar I got three of these little bins for a dollar each so we're up to one to five dollars and then three of this size right here so not sure why them specifically but you're looking at eight dollars with a plastic plus tax so we're gonna call it ten this is why I didn't become an account that's not good enough but you get the gist okay so step one of project to clean up your cabinet space is to [Music] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Music] okay I'm literally like out of breath after cleaning out the pantry but look how pretty it looks oh enjoy it enjoy it okay now let me show you some of this stuff I found what they need out I had no idea how much crap is in pantry our faux pantry our captain okay I started just putting it on the island but I had to use all of our cabinet space for all this crap okay here's the funny thing though is that I found your bags of Doritos and then five bags of tortilla chips why oh because we couldn't find yet we didn't see them we didn't know we had and then two bags of my clothes my kids didn't like marshmallows why are we hanging on to them to things our bread oh this pita bread and expired in November that's embarrassing fish fry mix this is good because we've never done a fish right here we lived here since April so I'm well we have three of them because that could be a crisis if we did not have fish Vitamix oh all right so after you have cleaned all of your cabinet space out and like I act like I know what I'm doing since I've never we had a pan we had a cabinet like this in our old apartment when we were first married for two years and it looked exactly like it just looked it looked like a hot mess so don't maybe take advice from me unless you see the end of this and it looks amazing but what I'm gonna do now is go through everything and check expiration dates and throw out those five bags of tortilla chips you okay so that's the bag of stuff that is either opened expired or I don't want it so that's started now what I've done is taken some of the boxes and put them into big containers that we already own but weren't using but the cereal this is all my kids love so toast crunch won't fit in the container so I'm gonna have to take a quick snack break up I'll resume this and you guys are dining out what happened but I gotta inch them off the top so the little oh shoot see I got a heavy bowl of cereal sorry okay now that I have utilized all the containers we actually own already a lot of pasta with like three boxes of spaghetti so I just added it to our existing spaghetti containers crazy we had multiple boxes of penne pasta which is funny because we don't like every pasta I don't even know oh this is new I think that's all the pastas maybe okay now that those are all gone so now we're gonna focus on the packets which drive me nuts because the packets get hidden behind stuff and we buy the same ones over and over and over like taco seasoning we have one two three four we're very muffins which we never make my name is rose by them we have three somehow they're almost all expired mashed potaters fake mask is of four packets good thing we're ready get some pockets and gravy 1 2 3 4 5 6 packets of fake gravy fries a week alright so this is the perfect size for this one this is a packet of 3 there were $1 so look at I'm like starting to nerd out I'm really excited about this okay so put all my haters together oh my gosh alright we're gonna put some buying one of them back blue toughens i make it more of these don't want to go crazy at the Dollar Tree because I don't know the return policy the taco seasoning we'll just combine that with the blueberry the muffins since you can see it easily and then we have two randos i think i'm not just throwing the trash honestly because anybody else weird up by tuna in general it freaks me out but on my protein but also gross and then guacamole the fake stuff i don't really care for so we're gonna throw these in the trash next i'm gonna focus on the cans because can you believe it we hardly something too cheesy whatever okay oh you got much creativity right now okay so we're just gonna show at least you're looking for a can now i can know where the cans are because right now the current system was there on every single level in the back this is a very like deep cabinet so alright Oh what are these your ass really expensive Tomatoes San Marzano tomatoes but he hasn't made a couple sauces and they're really good so we keep them but this box drove me nuts and he's like box like this was a plastic like pillows in the wind can't stand it alright it's done ok here we go and wounded next ok so these right here I thought would be cool for the kids snacks and that way they know like where to grab them so we have fruit by the foot personal fave and mulches three snacks really any food snacks are amazing I've always said if I was rich and like calories don't matter I would just eat fruit snacks you know what I'm gonna have one right now if I feel like I put in like probably you've been to $1.00 - oh yeah you're judging me I forget my kids fruit snacks and sugar you got a lot more to judge mom so go I need to refocus hey buddy did I wake you up come here let me see the cabinet tell me this hey you die they have the video right there let me check you back in hey look what mom was doing what do you think I think okay the kids back in bed but I was saying out the cabinet I found Stephen neurologist what I used to make my skinny cocktails and I thought we were out so I'm super excited and I'm getting actually super excited okay I think this works so I'm gonna finish organizing the cabinet with the remaining items I have and okay you've been waiting for it let me show you two bags actually of trash not one the two bags expired and crap stuff that I didn't want or I need to consolidate we had multiples of a lot of things but you can see my counters are clear which means the cabinet project guys look at that so cans on the bottom kid snacks right here some condiments and sauce easy mac and rice pasta cereal randos you can literally see everything this is the best feeling right now go do this okay I open the cabinet no not that one that's a truth drawer no I can't see that one be honest are you impressed eight dollars that's all it took eight dollars to fix it every time no we're gonna work together we should play games where's the mac and cheese well the easy back oh they're hidden yeah their kids neck okay that's all I get good night all right so that's a
