How to make the Ultimate DIY Cat Tree 😻

oh [Music] wow [Music] when i finished building this i told myself next project pick up easy one but now i'm going to be building another giant country and maybe in 10 days okay let's stop wasting time and get to it [Music] so [Music] [Music] so for this box i'm gonna be using both hokey ho school and the domino because i like to go to extremes [Music] i have eight seven circles i need to cut out so i think it makes sense to make a [Music] template now i have the template i'm just gonna double stick this on then flush trim it [Music] [Applause] [Music] i'm still recording it's good food it's better than sanding [Music] so these two houses they are they shear one wall i think i have to glue them up separately otherwise it's just gonna be a huge mess probably going to do pocket hole for this because this is going to be covered by carpet and just domino these two joints [Music] [Music] [Music] the house is missing a back pan so let's just cut this as a tables off and this at the track saw [Music] i made another cat i'm gonna apply edge bending i think usually sending is everybody's least favorite task but i actually hate f bending more because i used to use this this is like smaller than my hand but uh i was organizing my room yesterday and i found this i had this the entire time using this piece of [Music] now i just have to put a carpet inside all the boxes and uh wherever the cat is gonna sleep also it's gonna cover all the pocket hole that's visible [Music] i'm gonna start working on the ladders [Music] don't have a drill press so i'm just gonna pray for the best [Music] i know i'm not gonna draw the whole perfect right this is far away from perfect but uh i purposely made the holes larger and i'm just gonna use epoxy to put this together [Music] so these two spacers just help me make sure the whole thing is 12 inches wide and square [Music] now i need to make six of this post [Music] so oh my god there's an at4 i need to cut off 84 uh four inch disc six of this catface and then six of rectangular thing oh my god which idiot coming with this design so i have this entire pile of circles i need to cut out oh my god let's get to it [Music] i think it makes more sense to just screw this together flat trim as two layers otherwise though it'll be flush trimming something like this which is impossible to control [Music] well this only took me like three hours so it's gonna be like this all right this is a wall it's gonna be like this this is like a cat with a fish body or maybe like a giant hamburger [Music] [Music] now the hamburger has cheese all the glue kind of look like cheese too much cheese [Music] [Music] so i'm just gonna start at the bottom and just keep apply hot glue and wrap the whole thing up so it doesn't look like a giant cheeseburger anymore [Music] so this is a component for the bridge i need to draw holes to pass through the metal wire before i can connect all of them with the wire i'm gonna wrap the rope around this so it looks like it's uh connected with ropes or whatever i think just uh looks better [Music] all right i'm recording right so the rope is done now i just have to pass the wire through [Music] so i'm just going to shoot more stapler to fasten this cable down and then hit it with a hammer this end is a little bit trickier i'm gonna pull this tight but not so tight great instruction tight but not so tight and another stapler and for this i'm gonna cut this like halfway here so i can pass this through and shoe another stapler so this way the sharp end is like buried inside the wood [Music] all right photos uh bad thing i'm just gonna super glue this reinforce it with tower later [Music] i really needed your press oh snap [Music] for the giant cat hole i need a six 66 inch two by fours so i'm gonna cut that very quick [Music] so it's in the shape of a octagon now and i don't think cutting at the table saw with other angle or it's safe now i guess i'm just going to send this thing to a rough circle i mean i'm going to rub rope around this so it doesn't really matter how accurate it is [Music] [Music] wrapping this up is a little bit more complicated i know this and this is gonna be uh facing the wall so i'm gonna try to have the seam of the carpet right here so no one's gonna see it [Music] now the final step is to wrap this around with rope and i don't have enough rope to rub the entire like 12 feet of the post with rope so i'm just gonna do sections with ropes and i think 10 inches [Music] [Music] [Music] baby [Music] hey stay stay stay [Music] um
