hi guys and welcome back to Simple Cooking With Me Robert Kelly today we are going to be making some beautiful Irish fruit scorns just check them out so over the next 10 minutes I'm going to show you how to make these beautiful scnes to treat your family and friends and trust me they will love you for it stick around and check these out hi guys so today we are making beautiful Irish fluffy tick fruit scores these are absolutely beautiful um so simple to make like all my recipes on this channel nothing's going to be difficult everything's going to be simple and it's going to be exact same today so first of all we have saved our allpurpose flour into a bowl and now we're going to save our baking powder in on top we're going to give it a little mix through with our hands and then after that we're going to get our butter and a little T you can put the butter into the freezer and we're just going to grate it straight into our flour mix so now once we have all that graded in we're just going to mix it through with our hands just rubbing the flour into the butter so now we have our butter mixed through our flour we are going to add in um a pinch of salt and our sugar and we give that a good mix through and then we're going to add in our dried fruit and just mix our fruit through there now we're going to beat two whole eggs into our butter milk I'm want to make a little well in the center of our mix and we're going to pour that butter and egg milk mix in and then we're just going to mix all that together we're just going to dust our work surface with flour and empty out our dough mix so we're just going to work this now lightly till all the cracks are gone over keeping it nicely flowed uh we don't want it to stick so I just work it now till all them cracks are gone out now we just just going to roll it out it's about 3 cm thick I'm going to get our cutter so when you're cutting out your scones you want to just press straight down no twisting and turning just one cut simple as that so now we have our Ross and tray we're just going to dust that lightly with flour and we're going to transfer our scone onto it then we're going to gather up I won't call it waste because it's not and we're just going to fold that together get the creases out of it again and then we'll roll it to about 3 cm tick again and we'll cut more scnes over it so now that we have all our scones cut out and we're going to want to get a nice golden color on top so how we're going to achieve that is we're going to do a slight little egg wash so what I have here is one egg yolk a pinch of sugar and a pinch of salt just give that a quick little mix so now we're just going to brush that over the top of all of our scones and it's going to give us that beautiful golden color then when they come out now once we have all of our scnes glaze with the egg wash we're going to pop them into the fridge for about 10 minutes just to let them uh relax a little kind of set you could nearly say just for a couple of moments um before we put them in the oven um it just kind of stops them spreading out a little uh when they're cooking when the heat hits them straight away so we're going to preheat our oven now to 180° that's a fan oven um so we're going to pop these in the fridge for 10 minutes and get our oven good and hot so now our oven has been preheating for the last uh 15 minutes our scon have been in the fridge it's time to get these bad boys into the [Music] [Music] oven oh guys you want to smell these they're absolutely beautiful and just look at the color in that so we're after given these scorns 180 minutes in the oven at 180° and that's in a fan oven um if it's just an ordinary oven nor fan you're looking about 200° for the same time uh so we're going to get these onto the wi tray let them cool down for 30 minutes and then we're going to dress them up and I can't wait to try them so guys our scones have been cooling down now I left them for about 45 minutes so they're nice and cool but just look at that beautiful glaze on it um really important just to use that little bit of egg wash uh before you cooked them um just to give you that beautiful color when they're coming out so now we're just going to dress these up so I'm going to bring you guys a little bit closer now for some beautiful toppings some strawberry jam of Fresh Cream is going to go absolutely fantastic with these GES so come in a bit closer to me so now we're just going to cut these open I just look at them absolutely perfect so we're just going to start off with a nice spoon of strawberry jam and a nice spoon of Fresh Cream just look at that what a beautiful treat isn't that absolutely fantastic so here's our score with some beautiful fresh Jam Fresh Cream and this is the part of the video where I'm going to make an absolute Pig of myself so oh oh looking forward to this oh yes that is absolutely incredible oh just going to break a piece off what a beautiful treat my diabetes is going to absolutely hate this but I love it so guys definitely try this one such a simple recipe again you know it takes literally 10 15 minutes through the mix 20 minutes in the oven beautiful treat for you and the family and all your friends so check it out if you've made it this far thank you so much please hit the sub button please hit these H please hit the sub button please hit the like
