[Music] all right Tom welcome back to another episode of what we eating today I'm going to make rum cake so here we go okay so I have my ingredients here to make my round cake one box of classic yellow cake mix canola oil one and a half sticks of butter is that pudding the main and most important ingredient for we're okay right brown sugar and also sugar and for aid now let's get started alright so I have my oven preheated to 325 degrees I also have my but paying already breeze and ready to go so what I want to do first then I have a half of a cup brown sugar asked me ace please the brown is good you just want to sprinkle a half a cup in the bottom of the pan as well [Music] if all these great measurements will be in the description [Music] so now what I want to do let's see that it's pretty over my cake mix [Music] open your yellow - put it in your ball [Music] your vanilla bean it's a gay man you must be thirsty for eggs [Music] I also need a half cup of water [Music] that's a cup of water half a cup of canola oil [Music] [Music] and a half a cup I'll use Bacardi Rum you can use any type around but I use the dark brown and just so you know this is not for children you might get a little [Music] all right it just looks all that up [Applause] all right that is mixed up really good just make sure it's smooth [Music] now and into the Bears [Music] this is one of the cases and I featured cakes that I'll be making two for my business [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] okay so this is going to go into the oven for 50 to 60 minutes until a toothpick comes out clean and we'll be back all right Charlie so my cake has about 12 minutes up in the other and while that is in the pheasant and point to melt one and a half sticks of butter in a pan so let that melt over medium heat along with sugar and I have one and a half cup of sugar [Music] so let that melt over medium heat [Music] little thing you're gonna add the water my stepmonster [Music] next episode should use a brand new partner she never tries to capture [Music] my pack so we'll let that melt okay so I also added 1/4 cup of water to that mixture too and see how that's melting down the sugar butter and water together you're going to bring it to a boil just a light bulb [Music] like I said I have this over medium heat oh and that cake is almost done it smells so good how did it taste some of that batter and mm-hmm another ice cream yeah it's got a point [Music] [Music] how that's melting down melted down so it's nice to pick [Music] let that melt a little bit more okay you guys so the cake my cake cooks for about 50 minutes and look how beautiful that is that it's so pretty mmm it smells so good too I'm gonna let that cool for I know about 10 to 15 minutes [Music] yeah let it cool for about 15 minutes okay so my butter mixture with the sugar and water is completely melted we're gonna just let that come to a boil now just a little bit not a whole lot and then I'll add the room all right y'all so now I'm going to turn off the heat [Music] turned off the heat now I'm going to add 3/4 cups of and just add it right on in [Music] then you want to let it cook maybe on medium heat again for about one minute alright y'all so my cake has cooled I know for about five minutes so I have a school and I'm going to school because I can see it poke holes all over the surface with this cake because when you pour your mixture you want it to get down in there really good just all over that [Music] over [Music] [Music] okay all right job so now you want to drizzle half of your glaze over the whole cake just and down the sides just all over it [Music] good because that cake is gonna soak up all of that mixture that rom oh I wanna get it everywhere [Music] that's why you poke holes all in it so that K can just soak it up just a little bit more there okay so let that soak for about 15 minutes all right y'all the tape it's almost done so what I've done I carefully added the cake into the plate so now I want the ones to do it slowly slowly drizzle the remainder of the glaze on top of the cake and do it slowly so it can kind of absorb as much of the cake the ROM as possible [Music] probably use all of it let it absorb [Music] that's going to be yeah [Music] okay so we're gonna let it sit for a while whether it's a couple of hours so that cake can soak up and absorb as much as possible let it sit up for my beans now say about one or two hours and then you will enjoy I want to thank y'all please subscribe like and until next time on what we eat [Music] happier pecans of the brown sugar look at that I don't know if you could hear that but then Worcester oh boy [Music] see what it tastes like mmm it's very runny so I don't think it's for children but you want to give them a slice on me that's on you yeah notice up there alright so next time what we eat [Music] you [Music]
