garlic cook guys welcome to this week's video on this video guys i am going through my requested uh video that you guys requested for me to do um so this week is gonna be the multi-color bri style pillow rice now i have done a pillow rice recipe already which is the how to do the indian restaurants yellow pillar rice so i'll put a link into that below and this one's going to be the multicolor one the one that generally you have like red yellow green colors and so forth it's exactly the same process but what we're going to do we won't be out we'll be adding the colors right at the end so having said that guys i'm going to crack on and start cooking before i do that guys don't forget to hit that like button subscribe and comment below guys it'd be really nice to know tell you what let's do something different this week why don't you comment below and let us know where you're watching us from so having said that guys let's crack on with today's video how to cook indian restaurant style multi-color pillow rice first thing we'll do is get the heat on now i will have the ingredients listed in the description box as well as what i'll do i will obviously mention them as i put them in right so first i'm going to do got the heat on tablespoon gonna use butter ghee so peeler rice generally does have a bit of ghee in there so let's try and get this one scoop it so there it goes there's about one and a half tablespoon of butter in there i'm using a basmati rice there's about just over 250 to 260 grams of basmati rice washed and it's just currently soaking right i'm just going to crack on with this so there we go so the first thing i'm going to do guys is add in our usual suspects which is a whole spices so we've got two bay leaves again if you make in more put the heat down for you if you're making a lot more pillar rice and obviously add a few more i've got one cinnamon stick i've got two open cardigans and i've also got some stuff a couple of starboard leaks as well in there i'm gonna put that in there for now the oil is warm so what we're gonna do put it back on here so these are all half teaspoon of cumin seeds half a teaspoon of shaky zita half a teaspoon of agile wine seeds so what i'll do i'll put the descriptions or put the names of things which i'm using in the description box guys so you guys know exactly what to what to get if you haven't got it i've also got here a quarter of a small onion roughly chopped so we're just going to wait for the whole spice just to sit a little bit don't forget guys i really appreciate you guys watching us and commenting so thank you for that guys as you know we're trying to grow our channel and with your support with your support and that is going really well so i appreciate that guys thank you if you haven't done so guys hit that like button subscribe and comment and let's put onion in now there we go so at the restaurants we would cook big pots of these every single day so as we're cooking this at home guys we're just doing a small portion and a tiny bit of salt the fragrance is absolutely amazing from the chatty ditto cumin seeds i joined seeds all of that's coming through i love the stir release is really really nice on this one guys so this is really cool okay guys so it's been about just about 30 to 30 to 40 seconds that i've been cooking the spices and the onion on medium to low heat as you can see the onions have caramelized and so what we're going to do now guys is add in our rice there's a bit of water left in here because i've been soaking it for about 10 15 minutes i'm just going to get rid of the rice all we can do now guys is add in our rice this was about 250 to 260 grams of basmati waste so there we go what we're going to do now a couple of minutes we're just gonna suppose we're just gonna roast these [Music] i'm leaving on a medium to low heat for now and i'm just gonna give it a quick stir every now and again look at the caramelizing onion of that that's coming nice and sweet give it a nice flavor so guys it's been a couple of minutes i've just been roasting them just gonna zoom in so you know exactly the process so check it out see that it's all drop in and you can see and you can you can feel it as well when you are mixing it sort of it's sort of not sticking it's just nice and dry and it's just going wherever you do that so it's ready for our water so we've got hot water get that all leveled up well i've just noticed that i didn't put my ginger and garlic paste in there with the onion i forgot so what you can do it's all work obviously when you do put the ginger garlic as well it does give it a nice nice flavor as well so i'm going to leave it out now because i didn't put in at the beginning but when you for you guys when you do it guys do put it in about one teaspoon for this recipe will be great so we're going to do now guys and add our as you can see i've added enough water to cover the rice let's zoom in yeah i see a mixer there see that all we can do now guys is put a lid on it i just wanted that there it is i'm going to leave it on medium whatever heat medium to low heat just so just going to wait for it to all cook now shouldn't take too long because we're not cooking too much so i'll see you guys in a couple of minutes before i do that guys don't forget if you haven't please do hit that like button one more thing guys this lids actually got a hole so i'm just going to put a bit of foil in there so the steam or anything all stays in there actually there you go that's another tip for you okay guys it's been about a couple of minutes so what i'm gonna do it's been on medium to low heat more on the lower side of the heat because we're not cooking a big pot um i'm just gonna open just a check to show you where we are check it out there's still some zoom in for you there's a little bit of water and circles left at the restaurants i generally wouldn't open the lid until a bit later but i just want to show you and look at it all right it's getting cooked and so forth which is great so we're just going to put it back together put the lid back on another minute or two and the rice would be all nice and the water would have evaporated and so forth so it would be good to start adding our coloring so i'll see in about another minute or two okay guys it's been about a minute so i'm gonna open it again check it out and i've got i've put it on low heat now so the heat's on low flame get that back in you can see our rice is almost it's cooked almost cooked we're just going to give it another couple more minutes what we're going to do now but there's a little bit of water in there so i'm just going to feedback here i'm just going to get the colors ready the color i'll be using is could you see that legos i'm using the this brand red color i'll be using the yellow color and i've also got some green i couldn't find the other powder green so i've just got this one the liquid former green so the couple of ways you can use this one some restaurants directly add it on and some restaurants we do prefer to let me get a little so i've got a tiny bit of water in there and what we're going to do now is let's use it for our yellow hanger okay put that in there there we go remove the spoon so this is one way you can use it so just put that in and what i'm going to do is just here with the red powder i'm going to directly add it on i just want to show you how the difference looks the difference like it will be so let's add some here here this red one i'm just gonna time it up water in there and this green is already in a liquid form i'm just going to add a tiny bit in there hopefully not okay but as you can see we see the yellow color is a lot comfortable it's come out a lot better lid back on what i'm going to do is find so the bottom one here it's got the one of the lowest blade so i'm just going to leave that on there just simmering away for about five minutes or so forth and then in about five minutes or so forth guys we'll come back and check here and our rice will be ready for us so i'll see you then hey guys so it's been about another two to three minutes that the multi-color pillow rice in the restaurant start has been simmering on the um on the last on the smallest off so i'm just gonna bring it forward take the heat off and now i'm just gonna let it rest for about five minutes uh but what i'll do i'll quickly show you where we are check it out the right is cooked there you can you can see that the rice is let's put it here so it doesn't drop the rice is cooked it's not slice yourself there's no grainy bits or pieces this is how the way i've showed you guys is how you can cook perfect indian restaurant style pillow rice every single time the uh the dry roasting of the the rice in the beginning and then just put hot water leveling it to the top and then cook it on low low to medium heat and let it just cook away so you leave that for about a couple of minutes guys then i'll come back all right guys it's been a few minutes um that the rice has been resting now that it's cooked so let's get it check it out i did open just to get some pictures as well so that's great so zoom in for you look at it guys so let's get the rice from here just want to show you again that the rice is all i'm sure if you can see that that's nicely zoomed in or not it's all cooked for us guys this is amazing so what we're gonna do here guys is get this mixed in one of the things i wanted to show you is the difference between adding color on your adding water to your color first and then also putting the food coloring directly into it so when you put it directly into it it does it is um [Music] much darker the color so which is absolutely fine so what we're going to do now guys is and then i do prefer this yellow to come out really nice and we've also got the green so what we're going to do now is just do this give it a nice little mix again and the green so my preference would be to use the bit of water before you add in the food coloring because as you can see the zoom in from actually comes out so much better as well it's just nicer just going to quickly pause it guys just i want to take some pictures for my instagram and so forth so give me a well thank you guys i just managed to take some pictures for our instagram and so forth and our tick tocks as well as our youtube channel for you guys so guys there we go this is perfect it smells so good as well so what we're gonna do now guys is just give it a mix mix it all together probably use this one actually probably better there we go there we go i'm not going to give it a massive mix that's enough just to mix it in to get the colors going and then the red i think at the moment seems a bit too much because i do put in two parts just to show you but generally i would just use the same quantity of coloring put the lid back on before i do that let me zoom in to show you guys look at it look at that guys perfect rice every time guys in this style the recipe the technique that i've shown you look at it lovely but i'm gonna leave that and i'm gonna plate some up have some enjoy this with some nice curry as well as what we're gonna do guys i'm gonna make some more recipes using this rice i'm making some rice dishes such as maybe egg rice fried rice veg whites and so forth so i'll see you in the future videos take care one more time there you go see ya hit that like and subscribe button don't forget [Applause] you
