How to Make a Copycat Chick fil A Chicken Sandwich

hey everyone it's james from fun foods and today i'm gonna show you how to make this homemade chick-fil-a chicken sandwich tastes just like the real thing but you can do it at home so keep watching and i'll show you step by step how to make this start with two chicken breasts now these are quite thick so we do have to cut them in half so do so carefully now just take it hold it with your hand kind of press it down and carefully use a sharp knife and slice it in half long ways now these chicken breasts are quite large so i'm even going to cut it in half this way too so cut it in half now take each piece of chicken one by one wrap it in some plastic wrap and we can just smash it down so it's nice and flat now we're going to put each piece of chicken into a big ziploc freezer bag next we're going to pour pickle juice into the bag about a half cup let out almost all the air you can and zip it up and we're going to refrigerate this for 30 to 60 minutes so in a medium bowl i'm gonna add one cup of flour half a teaspoon of baking powder one teaspoon of ground black pepper half a teaspoon of paprika half a teaspoon of chili powder and about half teaspoon of salt and just whisk this together in a separate bowl we're going to add a half cup of milk and one large egg and whisk now we're going to pull out our chicken that was soaking in the pickle juice so one by one we're going to take our chicken out we're going to dip it in the egg wash for first then we're going to go into the flour mixture back in the egg back into flour we're double dipping these so yeah and we're going to dip it in the egg wash really good then into the flour mixture shake off the excess back into the egg mixture and back into the flour then shake off the excess and put it aside and we'll do that with each piece of chicken this one's breaking up a bit uh it's gotten quite stringy from being in the marinade so what i'm going to do is actually make some chicken nuggets out of some of these using the same batter now we're gonna put some oil into a pan just enough to fill the bottom and heat it up until it reaches 350. when it gets to 350 go ahead and put the chicken in the grease three minutes on each side after three minutes we're just going to flip them and when they're all cooked just take them out and put them on some paper towels to drain we can cook the chicken nuggets the same way [Music] now we're going to prepare the rolls take a hamburger roll open it up spread some mayonnaise on each side heat up a pan nice and hot and then we're going to put our rolls face down for about 10 to 15 seconds each and this is what it should look like now that the rolls are done the chicken's done we're going to put it all together but before we do that i like to make my own sauce and to make that i'm just going to start with some mayonnaise about two tablespoons i'm not measuring it but we'll call it two tablespoons then we're gonna put about a teaspoon of barbecue sauce about two tablespoons of ketchup mix this up now we're going to put it all together spread our special sauce or mayonnaise and two pickles there we go well now it's time for the taste test let's see how we did this is delicious the sauce makes it even better you gotta try it thanks for watching i hope you enjoyed watching me make this homemade chick-fil-a chicken sandwich it was a lot of fun tasted amazing hope you enjoyed this video if you did hit that like button also hit that big red subscribe button if you're not already subscribed to get new videos all the time check out this video right here and until then i'll see you next time now this chicken is quite large so i'm going to sew in a separate bowl no one teaspoon of you
