[Music] I'm Matty Matheson and I'm here in the munchies best kitchen to show you how to make a BLT like you have never seen before we're taking the field speeches next look we got some slab bacon here we're gonna pan-fry it render out the fat and then we're gonna make Abra Dulce with the original to Lula hot sauce sweet and sour and spicy and we always need a good bread around a good veal teeth but how do you think bread and is make it better french toast and what bread makes the best french toast challah bread and bacon are you ready for this so the first thing that we're gonna do right now is we're gonna start rendering our bacon this is just a single smoked bacon you can buy this at any butcher shop walk in I'm just gonna slice I don't want super fat I just want nice thin even slices and we're just gonna make one big colossal sandwich I love bacon I love french toast I love BLTs all makes sense so I'm gonna turn our pan on medium heat bake it in there we got six pieces of bacon like I said this is gonna be a big boy sandwich take a shallot the thing that I love about making a nice beautiful glazed bacon is adding the shallot and a little garlic goes a really long way so we're just gonna slice and dice some shallot and I just need one clove of garlic and just dice up your garlic everything's rendering it's getting crispy this is what we're looking for there's a pivotal moment we're gonna add our shallots and garlic and right now you want to turn down your Heat to low and instantly this is gonna smell amazing and we're just gonna cook this quickly now we're gonna be making the glaze we're gonna take 100 mils of vinegar a hundred mils of maple syrup we're gonna take a quarter bottle of Cholula original' the Cholula makes it flavorful yeah we're gonna blast this this is truly balanced our acid apple cider vinegar we have the sweetness of maple syrup and flavorful spice of the Cholula hot sauce the sugars are caramelizing deepening the flavor we are gonna glaze this bacon this is glazed see these bubbles this is all that sugar the garlic sugar the Cholula and the shallot have all reduced this is the best this is the best glazed Wow but be careful because when you're dealing with sugar sugar will burn you very badly so focus get yourself a little baking tray we're just gonna take our glazed bacon oh yeah look at this this is incredible I would love to show you how I made french toast challah is my favorite bread to make french toast because it's an egg bread and it absorbs so well and it gets so crispy it smells incredible it smells like a newborn baby first thing we got to do we got a cup of 35% cream three whole eggs three whole maple syrup for sweetness we're gonna add 100 milliliters we got four tablespoons of brandy party we got a little - a teaspoon of cinnamon now we're gonna just stir this up this is our french toast batter cover haul up so we're gonna cut it about half an inch thick in the middle look at this see this bread it's like birthday cake this bread is so yummy so we got two half-inch thick slices of challah two tablespoons of whole butter in a cast-iron pan we want about medium-high heat move that around yeah we're gonna take the whole lot dip it boom boom you don't want to spit keep it in there too long cause you'll get too soggy I'm doing a second dip take it out let it drip off into the cast-iron pan same with this a little toss we're gonna just keep this toasting until it's nice and golden brown ah beautiful beautiful french toast nice and crispy so warm oh I love sweet and savory and spicy all together I like really pushing the limits of my palate I want to feel my full tongue feel all the time with everything that I'm eating that's why I'm trying to make things different mayonnaise this is good for you if you're about to run a marathon you want to eat this this is iceberg lettuce iceberg lettuce is full of nutrients it's full of vitamins for your mind so we just want to slice this then we got the ow I like to slice my tomatoes rather thin and put more tomatoes on it we got a pepper mill a couple salt we're gonna take a beautiful look at this pleased bacon all six strips I like it this is good eaten french toast on top I [Music] don't even know what to say take your spatula just give it a little dip look at that little extra Tallulah glaze this isn't incredible sandwich oh great you can't pay me to smile you can pay me to show up but you cannot pay me too smart and I'm smiling is this same which is incredible this is one of the greatest BLTs if not the greatest BLT ever made way to go
