How to Make “Designer” Shirts Using the Cricut. | Cricut 101 (Episode 4)

what's up y'all it's naja from all things nation and i'm back with another [Music] [Music] video [Music] today i'm going to show you guys how to make a designer shirt and it's pretty much the same for every designer shirt like the simple designer t-shirts i mean like do you want to look good but you ain't got the money like supreme t-shirts are very expensive and um not for nothing i don't have 100 200 300 however many dollars for just one word or just one logo on a white t-shirt i can make that myself i would like to put the disclaimer in the video right now before you go any further if you don't like replica things you can skedaddle you can go but for my people who do like replica things and are not trying to sell these things i'm not trying to sell these things i just want to look fly okay i'm not selling anything okay i'm not selling anything i'm just showing you how to make stuff for yourself i make these things for myself and for my kid who cannot sell things yet but i'm going to show you guys how to make two different types of t-shirts one of them ended up being kind of different it actually looks like this um it's very different i didn't mean to make the logo this small but since i did i was not going to break i was not fit to waste my vinyl honey vinyl is expensive vinyl is you know ill you need your vinyls so i left it looking like this i'm actually gonna make a different one with its sneaker being bigger but he gonna wear this he gonna wear this around the house he's gonna wear this to school um he's not actually in school right now but he's gonna wear this shirt regardless so i'm about to show you guys how y'all can look fly on a budget without spending all your money y'all work hard for y'all coins y'all ain't got the time to spend them on designers who get this don't care about you or your money but we finna look good all right if you want to learn how to make designer t-shirts let's get into the video now i'm gonna do a plain old talk through in video video see my hands i'm saying stuff with my hands right now all right so i'm gonna go to google clicking on google i'm aiming to make i will say i'm going to do two separate shirts so i'll do one for me and one for my son because he needs something to wear to his party with his new converses so i'm gonna type in converse t-shirt and i'm gonna see what type of t-shirts they have and i'm going to try to make one of them i think this is so cute that has so much nick oh it's already a png save image as okay i think i'm going to use this one instead that is really cute for a kid's shirt you know that's the type of stuff that kids like let's see if they have any other ones to google i'm going to type in supreme logo so this one is fairly easy save image s supreme logo after we get both of those logos we're gonna go to cricut design space y'all already know i'm gonna try to make this quick because it really does not need to be dragged out but i'm gonna show you guys how i do these cute shirts now i'm gonna try to put these both on the same um i'm gonna use the same mat because both logos are not huge so i'm going to go to upload right over here then i'm going to upload an image press browse then you'll see today so first i'll go to unnamed i'll grab that and it's the sneaker complex continue then i'm going to save it as a cut image and press save see how quick that was and i'm gonna insert that image then i'm gonna go to upload again upload image browse i'm going to get supreme logo open this will be complex because i need to get all that white space out see you're just clicking literally inside of the letters and it disappears p r e m and e continue save it as a cut then i'm going to insert that image also that is way too big so i'm going to put turn it to i'm going to take down the space that you can see then i'm going to press this lock button and change the size to five the width no not by five i'm going to change the width to eight and the height to five and press enter then for this sneaker it's going to go on a kid's shirt so i'm going to try i'm going to press the arrow right here then i'm going to change it to 5 by five okay the height can't be five because it's going to make the sneaker look weird so we're gonna change it to five by three and press enter then i'm going to make the space bigger and i want this a little bit longer so i'm going to use this to make it how long i want it to be so it's making it 10 about 10.4 then i'm going to lock it and this right here gonna go to 100 because that's how much so it's pretty much um five by three and i think that'll work let's try and make it and see how this does here you can actually move like your items around if you want them to be on the same mat and you want to have a nice clear space to put it on then you can move it so here you see me moving the sneaker down because i'm going to be using black down there and i just pretty much use the numbers as indications as to where to put the vinyl so i know to put my red vinyl from 1 to 6 and then i can put my black vinyl from 7 to 11 if that makes sense so i'm gonna mirror this because it has a word and continue so as you guys can see i turned my cricut on and i got my two different vinyls so i have the red for a supreme and i have the black for his um converse shirt so first i'm going to cut out the converse now it looks like um the height is about i said i had to put it between 7 and 11 so i'm going to cut it as big as that so i'm just gonna use this cricut blade to cut so i'm gonna just pretty much eyeball it because i'm just you know that good that you know i know how far i should cut cut down like that get rid of on the board i'm going to match it up between 7 and 11 and it's even just a little bit long so i guess i'm not that good so i'm just going to cut some of that area off i'm gonna put it shiny side down like so like this so seven making sure it's nice and straight now that's even past 11 which is good you can always go past you just never want to end up short and supreme supreme needs to be all the way across and these between be between one and six so you can even do it like this side down line it up on the mat since it's going to go all the way across anyway then rub it down and then use this indicator so this is six so i'm going to go right to here because i never want to just be actually right here so i'm going to go right to here and just cut across and it will not hurt my mat because obviously it's um cut on all day long so let's cut it right across put away my scrap mine scrap vinyl goes in the scrap drawer and it will look like this so now you can see my laptop and my cricut and what i'm gonna do now is go over here and press select cricut device and go to my cricut device and make sure that it's on the iron on setting now it says here make sure mirror is turned on and iron-on material is face shiny side down and i'm just checking all of my properties and it says matte 12x12 mirror on which is correct so you'll see that um my cricut light will start to blink i'm going to pull my cricut up so you guys can see a little bit better and even just adjust my camera so this light will start to blink and when it starts to blink that means it's ready for you to load the mat into the machine so i'm going to load this mat into the machine like so like this and press that blinking button the blinking button is basically saying press me i'm ready so here on the computer it says there's a little light in the way so i'll go closer it says fast mode it gives you the option to do fast mode and i always do because i am impatient so i did fast mode and now i'm going to press this button to start [Music] cutting [Applause] uh so as you can see it's done cutting so i'm going to press the unload button the load and the unload button is the same button i'm just going to peel this off and begin the weeding process after i weed i will put it on the shirt using my heat press and i will be done all right i'm still just talking through so i'm showing you guys my new shirt i got it from michaels it's from the bella canvas brand and i'm just gonna be putting the supreme on this one so let me slide actually this way slide this on out of the way and i kind of just want to do a um initial press first making sure that this is in the middle is so i'm just gonna be careful and then when you initially see it behind the um like the plastic film it will look a little bit darker but that is okay you can see if i tried to lift right now it would lift right off if i tried to lift right now it would lift right off and it will leave a red hue and we don't want that so i'm going to let it rest for a few minutes then after a few minutes i will peel that is called peeling while cool i'm gonna do the nice satisfying peel the peel reveal yes honey put that film to the side and this is what it looks like i'm gonna model it for you guys now i'm gonna do my son's converse shirt so kids shirts are a little easier to do because you can definitely just you know seat the canvas a lot better and um you don't have to use as much vinyl obviously so i'm going to go ahead and do a few seconds one two three just priming the fabric and look at that i didn't even notice that i didn't weed out the shoestrings so let me go ahead and do that now it's time to apply the converse sneaker so i'm just going to find the spot that i would like it to be i don't know if i wanted to be like a side thing or like in the middle thing because i did cut it to be kind of small but you know what at the end of the day the t-shirt is going to be dirty by the end of the day so so i'm going to try to adjust it off of the heat press because i don't want it to come out crooked at all and that is it y'all i told y'all this would be very easy i try to do a little bit of a talk through while doing it because i feel like my videos can get a little bit repetitive but i hope you guys
