How To Jump Start AC Compressor Clutch Using Paper Clip Bypass Relay | Add Refrigerant Manual Engage

hi I'm Milan welcome back to my DIY repair videos this video I'm going to show you how to jumpstart your AC compressor clutch using only a paperclip I want start this video off by saying that as a disclaimer you should do recite your own risk because this is not the recommended way to do this and besides it is your car the reason that you would want to jumpstart your compressors because of course you're trying to replace your refill your refrigerant you can we become your car's old or it has a leak and in order for you to refill the refrigerant the AC clutch needs to be engaged however it needs it refrigerant to engage which is it's sort of a catch-22 situation which is why we're actually trying to jumpstart the compressor because it won't run without the refrigerant all right so we're gonna try on the engine and then the AC or to show you what's blowing off the Confessor so first off now we're going to climb the fence you can hear them running in the in the engine so let's go see [Music] I'm not where you're also working but now here for the relic identity of the compressor is it's not fitting nor so jump start the compressor we need to locate the relay box and on other cars they will be in different locations but on the hobbit' honda civic its rounded edge around the driver's seat in order to take off the cover soon not here for clips you see that we've located the fuse box or mean the relay box so the second thing you wanna do is you want to locate where your AC relay is and for the honda civic actually it has a key for it so the key for AC is this relay right here so we're going to locate that corresponding to these diagrams and right here you can see that this is the relay that I have to take out in order to take it out you need pliers take it out though we all ready to go alright so the first thing you want to do when you take UV layout is you want to mark the positions so for a for for pins it should be easy we're not sure about five pins but four pins you should have two copper pins and two gold pins these two copper pins are the output pins these two are the InFocus we're gonna jump the copper pins so what you can do now is you can put some tape here or some paper here to block out these gold ones so we won't need them for now actually okay because one make sure want diagnosed with palm news so the quick way to do it is to just take the relay and then just shake it to see if there's any broken parts and that doesn't work which it probably does but if it doesn't work the good way is to actually swap it out for another meal and so you know just take a horn relay and then swap it out and see if it works then you know if your fuse is bad or it really is bad okay so now we have these two blocked off now we're gonna deal with these tips alright so now we're gonna hook up a refrigerant so at Walmart they don't actually solve the regular kind of research during like this where you need to cut open for hose actually they sell this self sealing refrigerant which in order to use this we actually had to buy an adapter so we actually have a separate video on how to refill the refrigerant so go check that out but we're right now we're trying to expedite the process I want to locate the low pressure cap now we're going to take it off and it's always a long way good practice to to release the pressure and what if it comes out warm then you'll know that you don't have a lot of refrigerant left or right now we can tell that the refrigerant is now we're filling itself in or do we need to run the compressor so now we're going to put the paper clip in so you can do either two ways you can either start the engine and then put the paper clip in or you can put the clip in mouth which will get rid of any sparks that might come out all right so they use the smaller people step in wear rubber ones back well it's gonna put some favorite holla Widing other way I don't want to put it in the last take now we're going to transfer ectly and when we put it on right here it should run for us I see sparks what about me me me [Music] by that actually we switched out the paperclip more a wire for my own safety [Music] able to work in a wire especially if they're like out in the road somewhere all right of course when you do this you need to make sure that you turn the AC to max now you turn the fans on which we already have a separate video on this so go check that out but just making sure you know all right so today I showed you or rather give you an idea of how to use paper clips to jump-start your AC compressor clutch now even though I'm a bit older right now I'm in more experience I think my dad is still a bit protective of me which of course it's why it's a good idea to use the wire to jumpstart your compressor that's what that's the better way than using a paper clip but paper clip is like emergency situation the best way it's actually to use like something like a power probe 3 which we'll show you in the next video or if you jump start the compressor and next year I'll show explain what's going on behind all this compressor stuff on the board but right now we have to get somewhere all right so before I go I should mention that we use some self concealing refrigerant because we already knew that our AC was leaking if you don't know that your AC of leaking is probably best to use regular refrigerant and if that doesn't solve the problem then we'll probably do another video on diagnosing and solving whatever the other problem is and I'll see you there listen now I'm on and thanks for watching
