hello folks I'll be taking you through the installation of Windows 10 on top of an ESXi host I'm using Windows sorry yes it's a 5 out 5 I asked my host machine so right-click the host select new virtual machine click Next give a name to the virtual machine I'll give Winton which stands for Windows 10 and select the data center and the ESXi host on which the VM will be hosted click on next now select a storage I'll be going with the default option which is data store 1 I have only one learn presented to this particular host click on next select the compatibility I will go with the default again click on next select the guest OS all right in this screen I will select windows and windows OS version as Windows 8 because we still don't have Windows 10 support available in ESXi host so with the windows 8 64-bit click on next in the next screen will be customizing the hardware so what I'll do first is I'll allocate two CPUs for this virtual machine and one to 12 GB of RAM so that we have ample amount of memory to play around with the VM I'll give 12 GB select GB yeah that's right now I'll also like I will give 50 GB hard disk space for this particular VM also I will select thin provisioning so that the end of 50 GB won't be allocated right now click on the options again select thin Froning that's right click on next sorry ok in the next option I will select VM network which is my internal network which I created for the internal communication inter traffic to flow I will select VM network and I will have to attach a CD drive image that is ionized so image so I'll attach the windows 10 image which is there in my data store next and I'll also select connect connected and connected at power on connected power on and connected option I'll check both of both of the options so yeah that's it we have done with customizing the hardware now review the settings that you created if everything looks good click on next you can see the progress below the VM is getting created so once the the VM is created you'll it will appear here there you go so right click the VM and open a console to the VM so that we can start our installation process okay I forgot to start the VM power on the VM so right click and power on the VM and go back to the console world which you open some time back ok alright so the installation will begin soon as soon as the VM is powered on completely there you go the insulation has begun just go with the default options here I'll select the default options languages English time and currency us keyboard layout yes and select Install Now in this screen that'll be starting let's wait for it to start in the subsequent screens you may have to accept the end-user License Agreement and select the hard disk to install the operating system let's see what comes next accept the end-user license agreement click on next click on the custom install windows only option and select the hard disk which on in which you will be installing the Windows 10 operating system click on next ok so what I will do is once the installation starts I will pause the video I will pause the video here ok yeah we are back the insulation is then completed now we will go with the default settings here I'm not interested in changing any other any settings right now I just wanted to feel I just wanted to show and feel how Windows 10 would be as it is a new operating system from Microsoft so that is the whole purpose of installing Windows 10 on top of ESXi I will choose the default options here as well okay the process this process will take some more time because the windows is setting up the default applications that will be installed as part of the installation so this process might take some time so once this is done we will be taken through that we will be taken to the desktop of Windows 10 you can feel you can experience how Windows 10 operating system will look like and you can see there Start menu which has come back in Windows 10 they had removed it in Windows 8 and it was 8 8.1 and the Start menu is back in Windows 10 there you go that is the desktop of Windows 10 that completes the installation tutorial here
