How To Install Window Air Conditioner Support Bracket -Jonny DIY

what's up YouTubers Johnny DIY here today I'm going to be showing you guys how to support your big large heavy window air conditioner with a frost King AC support bracket all right let's get started so to determine where we're going to put it on the sill we're going to go ahead and see where the weight is balanced if it's balanced in the middle we're going to put it in the middle of the seal this one's a little to the left so we're going to move the bracket over 3 in to the left all right so I'm going to be using this Frost King AC support this is the one that's rated up to 80 lbs let's go ahead and check the link down in the description I've got a link for an Amazon one uh if you need a heavier one they have one rated up to about 160 lb and that one's going to be about 40 or so uh so what it comes with is just comes with um these two brackets so it's going to sit on that and support it and then the uh three screws and the little plastic pieces that are going to be bolted down to the sill all right so first we're gonna find the center of the sill we're going to mark that and since it's um the balance is uh to the left 3 in we're going to go ahe and Mark 3 in over and this is going to be our Center Line of this bracket this is the concave bracket this one's going to go down first right there three inches over in the center and this uh curved one is going to Nest inside and then it comes with these little blocks and these blocks we're going to put there's two blocks and you want it to come up to level with the sill so I'm going to put one block on it so this is going to be pretty close to level right there it's basically going to when it comes together it's going to be like that so now we're going to screw in this curved one first okay so I'm going to go ahead and pre-drill the hole first there we go okay now I'm just going to screw it down so what the curved piece allows you to do is to swivel it where till it becomes level and then we're going to Mark the hole to drill and screw these two in one on each side that are going to go through the top of the bracket all right so this has a built level and you're going to want the angle of those two mounting screws you're going to want it you're going to want to level it and then you're going to want to lean it out just a little and that's so that the condensation the water from the air conditioner can leak out of it and not back into your house now we'll go ahead and screw these two in leave them a little loose so we can have a little play before we tighten them down all the way so now we're going to put this arm against the wall and we're going to put it in one of these holes all along the side that keeps our angle dipped out just a little for the runoff so for me this one's level the last one so one down from the last one for me is going to dip it out a little all right so I just got this tighten down so now I can tighten these ones down all the way all right so we got the sport now we just go ahead and lift the um AC onto the bracket that's good enough I don't want to fall out all right so we've got it all set up and as you can see down here it's been supported against the wall with the bracket it's all installed now all right so I suggest getting one of these babies they're good for heavy air conditioners all right guys if you like this video give it a thumbs up subscribe to my channel check out my other videos please I'd really appreciate it all right guys thanks for watching Johnny DIY keep on doing it yourself take care oh so cold you want to try to sit on it
