all right so in order to install homebrew is another simple command you go to brew.sh and you copy this command it's going to use curl and it's going to fetch everything homebrew related we want to open up the terminal and copy that command for this you will need pseudo access okay so we're just getting this message what it will install it will clear it will create a homebrew directory in the opt okay we made group available blah blah blah whatever just click return or enter okay so right now it's installing it's probably going to take a couple of seconds my internet isn't exactly the best right now even though the m1 mac is super fast it's only as fast as the internet will allow it to run awesome so what did it say warning is not in your path instructions to how to configure your shell okay so if we type the brew command okay so we need to add homebrew to our path by copying this command and this second line so you need to copy and paste this command right here let's close the terminal and open it back up again ah we gotta quit let's make it bigger and if we type brew we have access to the package manager now what is one of the packages that we need to install it is an obligatory thing that whenever you're dealing with the command line you install neo fetch so the command is super is simple you just have to install brew install neo fetch and it will automatically go and fetch it i guess it was already installed so now if i type neofetch we get the famous neofetch screen which is something that everybody that runs linux or everybody that runs mac os and reddit has to show off at one point or another and basically neo fetch is just some it tells you basically what operating system and some other configuration very basic thing but it's very visually appealing especially with the logo right here made of characters and when you run it on linux you get the logo for each linux distro now with homebrew you can install many other things there are some some programs will give you an alternative to install it with homebrew as opposed to like cloning it down from git i use homebrew very seldomly i don't use it that often sometimes it's better to have it than not have it but it depends on your needs so this has been how to install homebrew
