How To Install Casement Window Seal For Portable Air Conditioner Exhaust Pipe (Hose)?

hi guys today we're going to install the window seal for our ac exhaust pipe which is located right here as you can see we have the casement window and we'll be using this set here that comes with uh the velcro straps which has tape on the other side and we have the material itself which will close this gap on all four sides this will prevent the hot air from coming in and it will keep the cool air inside uh the length of our material is 400 centimeters this works in our case in case of our window your window might be of different size that's why you have to figure out the perimeter of the window frame to do this you have to measure the top slope is going to be 63 centimeters this means that the bottom is 63 centimeters as well and you have to measure the size so the side is going to be roughly 100 130 centimeters so we have 130 130 63 and 63. you have to add all these phone numbers it comes to 386 [Music] centimeters this is a perimeter of our window frame and as you can see is slightly less than 400 but it's still going to work in our case in case of your window uh if your number uh is over 400 you probably have to look for the five meter material the next step will be to wash the window so we have to wash clean this surface because this is where the tape will go on this side and on the window frame as well make sure there's no dirt or grease because otherwise your tape won't stick now we are going to attach the velcro straps you see there is a tape on the back so apply one end first carefully and measure the necessary lengths for our sides first so it will go approximately here and then you can cut off this piece now we can detach the plastic on the back and apply pressure to secure our welder strap the tip is quite sticky this means it should hold very well now repeat the same process for all other three sides on the frame first now we have our velcro straps installed on the frame on all four sides and the next step will be installing the tape on the window itself and as i said the idea is exactly the same the difference is now you're installing the velcro straps on the window itself all four sides we have finished installing the velcro straps and this is how it looks now both on the frame and on the window itself in order to install our material we have to figure out the sides so this is a narrow side and this is the white side the white side will be attached to the frame and the narrow side will be attached to the window so i will start by going approximately from the middle of the frame from here so again this is our white side this end will be attached to the frame itself so we're starting from here so i'll go up like this at the same time we can attach the narrow side it's a little bit tight here but it's not a big deal but it gets attached right here we can proceed over here first the frame and the narrow side slightly open the window and thank you installing inside like this press c right here and the same on the window itself and as you can already see we already have this side covered after this pass i'll probably have to reattach this properly but for now i'm just trying to show you how it works so same on the bottom the white side and then the window and the final side looks like this and as you can see it is slightly longer than our window frame and that's what we explained in the beginning the window is 386 i believe centimeters a perimeter and this thing is 4 meters so we have some extra piece but you can use some scorch tape to secure it in place and i guess yeah this one this one plus side right here [Applause] so something like this as i said i'll have to probably come back to secure it properly we have a zipper here and now we can pull our wipe out like this and cool zip and yeah this is how it's meant to work and again all around it's all more or less sealed so as i said before the hot air is not going to get inside and your ac is going to work properly now the hot air from ac is coming out and this will cool your room faster and it will save you some money on the electrical bill as well this is how it looks from the inside as i said we have all sides sealed now and our pipe is looking out this way also uh because we attached our velcro straps on the outside of the window now in case if you want to close the window you can just push out the material and like this and we can close the window without removing the window seal our installation is complete one more thing i want to add is that this material is waterproof the tip holds very well the velcro works quite well as well i'm so far i'm pretty pleased with the result so in case if you guys want to use this kind of kit for the window seal this is how it works i hope it will help you during your installation and thank you for watching [Music] you
