How-To Install A GFCI Outlet For Beginners: DIY

hello and welcome to another episode of Mr howto today we're going to swap out an old GFCI with a brand new GFCI this one has a light indicator on it so let's get [Music] started [Music] [Music] [Music] all right so as you can see here we've got our old GFCI we got our new GFCI they look the same as far as where the the poles are at and where the grounds are at but if you zoom in here you can see on the old one we've got the load on the top and we've got the line on the bottom can you see the load line you can see on the new one that the line is on the top and the load is on the bottom so they're actually they're per they're opposite so it's supposed to be like that but we want to put it in this this way so all we're going to do right here we know that on the old one our line is on the bottom so that one needs to go to the top so you're going to take those and you're going to go like that right there yeah there we go so as you can see that top one there is headed is is the Home Run and that's your that's your load right there going to the rest of the outlets so now all we got to do with our new one we want to put it in this way and we want to put from the from the Home Run we want to go into the line and then that the load is going to go in to in feed all the other outlets so this top one is hot that's the [Music] line [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] e [Music] n [Music] [Music] [Music]
