How to grow LONG & STRONG nails (long nail care routine)

[Music] hi everyone this is how I grow my long nails and it's also kind of a long nail routine how I take care of my nails I have been growing my nails for a couple of months now and I really really love the length the right hand is a little bit shorter because I ended up breaking all those nose at once when I was at the gym but they've grown back nicely so the first thing to start off is just to remove all of this old nail polish I use 100% acetone nail polish remover I don't recommend this nail polish remover because since it is 100% acetone it's very very drying for your nails but the reason I use it is because I use a special topcoat that's kind of hard to remove so 100% acetone really really gets it all off quickly for me if you end up not using any of the top coats that I use in this video then I recommend using this normal nail polish remover but if you do use the top coats and you decide to use 100% acetone to remove your nail polish don't worry about your nails drying out because I will show you how to moisturize them and take care of your nails once I have majority of the nail polish removed I like to go back with another cotton ball and just make sure all the excess nail polish is fully off of my nails then afterwards I like to take a dish soap it doesn't matter what brand but something that's tough on grease and then gentle on the hands is preferable the reason I use dish soap to clean my nails and my hands is because the acetone is full with really harsh chemicals that can damage your nails and your hands so you just want to make sure that all that is removed before we apply any nail polish on tada now your nails are ready to be moisturized I use Vaseline but you can also use coconut oil or a cuticle oil the reason I use Vaseline is just because it's really moisturizing and it's gentle on the hands and the fingers take the Vaseline just pretty much run it all over your nails under your nails on your nail beds your cuticles and even your hands and your fingers once you have all the Vaseline evenly distributed on your nails and your fingers you want to take want to think there and gently massage the Vaseline onto your cuticles your cuticles are important because you want to make sure they look nice and healthy and moisturize to complete your nail look and because it just helps that little wood nail bed grow now after about 5 to 10 minutes the Vaseline should soak into your nails and wear off on its own and this is what your nails should look like this next step is completely optional but if you have any tears or just little snags in your nails I like to use super glue to glue it together to make sure that my nails don't break it's a little hard to see but on my middle finger on the left side there's that blue paint that I didn't get to remove that's because I have a tear in my nail and there's polish stuck in there so I like to go ahead and just glue that down to make sure that doesn't tear anymore now we move on to filing typically I like to cut my nails and then file but I'll be skipping the cutting in this video when I file I start in a back and forth motion I use a glass file which is also known as a crystal file the grits are really small in this file so your filing is very smooth and nice so after I do the back and forth motion I like to finish in one direction so you can see it back and forth back and forth once I have the shape desired I then file in one direction only this just ensures that there's no damage done [Music] so once my nails looking nice and pretty and I'm done filing good tips like to go ahead and file the sides now this step is really important when you're trying to grow your nails long because the size of your nails tend to get tears and snags and them really easily and once that happens or your nails end up breaking so I just like to gently file back and forth not too rough all we want to do is smooth out the side of our nail now after that's done this is what your finished product should look like and your nail is now ready to be painted I like to start with a base coat and I use the OPI natural nail base coat there isn't anything special about this base coat you can pretty much use any brand this is just something I picked up from Walgreens whenever I paint my nails a lighter color like a lavender pink white or a beige I typically only use one coat of base coat if I were to do a darker color such as blues blacks and reds colors that stain your nails easily I recommend using two coats of base coat the base coat is completely optional but if you want to grow your nails along and you don't want them too yellow then I highly recommend using the base coat [Music] once you paint your nails in the base coat dries you are then you're ready to paint today I'll be using the Rimmel London 60 seconds in the color sweet lavender so I don't do anything special when I paint my nails I pretty much just start from the base work my way up and then do the size and you can see I repeat that on every single nail this color is pretty sheer but I'll be going in with a second coat once this coat completely dries so these are my nails with one coat of base coat and two coats of the nail polish now we're ready to do a top coat this right here is my secret my glory like my absolute go to and growing long nails it's called kiss double up top gel what this is is a soak off gel nail polish so since it is Jo it requires a lamp to cure but I'm telling you guys like this is not an ad this is not sponsored but this stuff is absolutely amazing I've been using it for years and what it does is basically cures and it hardens your nails and makes your nails feel like just so strong pretty much like a rock whenever I use this stuff my nails wouldn't never ever break it really helps her nails if you're trying to grow them long so this is a lamp by the same brand kiss as you can tell it's pretty worn out I used it a time back when I was growing my nails long and this one is LED light there are some that come in UV light but I don't recommend that because UV can harm your skin there's some other brands of soak off gel and nail polish so I'll link below if you can't find this brand in specific but for all the brand's you want to wait for your nail polish to dry a hundred percent if you don't wait for the nail polish to dry then it can mess up the manicure so when your nails are dry you can go ahead and apply the topcoat turn on the lamp and stick your nails in there for one minute for the topcoat to cure so whenever that's done when you take your nails out I promise you you'll feel a huge difference the topcoat really really hardens and makes your nails just feel really strong and healthy this is perfect for people that have maybe dry or thin and brittle nails and it's really hard for them to grow their nails without them breaking the reason I'm not using the topcoat today in this video is because I actually use a new topcoat and your nail polish does not have to be dry for the top coat to go on I really like that although I have to say if my nails were still short and I was trying to grow them out I would definitely go back and use this kiss a double up top gel soak off nail polish it's a really great so the new topcoat I'll be using today is called such a vitae I've been using this for a couple months now ever since my nails got to a point where I enjoyed the length I like this top coat because like I said your nail polish does not have to be dry my nails are still a little damp but it's completely fine you can go ahead and apply this top coat the top coat is great too because honestly it dries within a minute and it makes your nails super shiny compared to the soak off gel topcoat I'd say the soak off one is probably better if you want stronger nails this one doesn't really make your nails strong the beta gives a great shine and I like just how quick it is so I just apply it to all my nails I start in the middle then worth the sides and that's about it so guys this is the final result I hope you guys really learned something and this video will help you grow your nails out like I said before a gel topcoat will really really help your nails grow strong but if not follow the other steps in this video and hopefully you can grow your nails out as well thank you bye
