How To Grow Dates From Seed: How To Plant Date Palm Seeds

Learn how to grow dates from seed. To plant date seeds, buy fully ripe dates from grocery store. Remove  the Pulp and wash the seeds thoroughly, any pulp   left will encourage fungus growth. Soak the Seeds  in water for 2 days to soften the outer covering.   Wrap the seeds in a kitchen paper towel  or any paper and spray water on it.   Then enclose it in a box or polythene bag.  Place the box at a warm and dark place.   If temperature outside is less than  20°C, then place the box indoors.   Seeds will sprout from 2 to 4 weeks, depending  on the age of the seeds and temperature.   Take a small pot with many drainage holes.  Fill the pot with free-draining soil and   plant the sprouted seed in it.
