welcome to my gear fear guide where I'll be helping you overcome The Unwanted worry of losing your gear in Escape From tarkov you can catch my live streams over on Twitch Tuesday through Sunday starting at 6 PM Eastern without wasting any more time enjoy the video first off I'd like to cover what exactly gear fear is and why it's important to not have it gear fear an escape from tarkov is the anxiety that players have from potentially losing their gear if they do not survive the round gear Fair ends up shifting a player's playstyle away from playing accordingly to the situation at hand and shifts it towards a playstyle that is more timid and slower paced than what might be required to win the fight as soon as a player with gear fear gets into a fight adrenaline takes over their heart starts beating faster it gets a little harder to breathe their neurobiological system is telling them to run but their knees are too weak to move and it's too late anyways a Chad will round the corner and take them out you do not want your playstyle to be determined by the fear of losing the gear you wear into raid the first tip to getting over gear fear is coming to the realization that all of the gear will go away with wipe anyways I can't remember one gear set that I regret losing or that I didn't get many more opportunities to run the game is more fun when you're not scared of losing gear that was always going to be lost anyways one of the biggest tips to abolishing gear fear is to learn how to make rubles the key to playing tarkov is the in-game currency known that you can always make x amount of rubles consistently helps you care less about the gear sets although you do need higher level traders to purchase a lot of the meta gear there's still options to get gear that can get the job done off the flea market and at lower levels try the AKs 74u M1 rig tan or black u-lock and whatever Backpacker headset you prefer it's a relatively cheap kit and it definitely packs a punch as far as a good Ruble route scav runs on Lighthouse streets or Woods are going to be the best starter routes a big part of gear fear is not having confidence in your gameplay learning the game and gun mechanics can go a long way in helping the two biggest game mechanics that will help with PVP are only right hand Peaks and flashlights in every fight right hand Peaks expose the least amount of your body as possible flashlights not only blind your enemy but make it harder for them to accurately hit their shots but flashlights also help increase hip fire accuracy of the weapons gun mechanics are just as important knowing what your gun is going to do when you pull the trigger is massively important take a gun build that you like to run like the AKs 74u I mentioned earlier and go into an offline raid with a lot of mags and ammo learn what the gun does when you shoot it hit fire aim down sight single fire full auto close range mid-range long range know what the gun is going to do when you pull the trigger another component to gear fear is getting got from the unknown go into raid with a goal in mind just running around aimlessly is going to get you taken out from the unknown you're more likely to not even see your opponent when you have a goal in mind like either rule making PVP or questing you're going to move around more efficiently and with a purpose this will likely lead you into more contested areas of the map which will help familiarize yourself with routes to those areas and where you're likely to encounter other spawn points along those routes you'll pick up Peak angles spots people like to Camp how to combat those locations or avoid them all together if it's just not a favorable fight a final tip to getting over gear fear is to care less about survival and focus on being a better player or just having fun the main goal for most players in tarkov is survival it is called escape from tarkov for a reason after all but this inherently adds to the Gear fear issue because you lose your stuff if you don't escape if you're serious about learning the game and getting rid of gear fear and try switching your win condition away from the survival and towards either PVP or challenges you find fun my first swipe I only cared about getting in a fight I didn't care if I died as long as I got to shoot my gun then that round was a win for me this helped me care less about dying and helped put me in situations where I was going to learn another option is to try to see how fast you can make 10 million Rubles on your scab or see how fast you can get to 100 dog tags using those 10 million rubles to fund the PVP just try to swap the win condition from survival to whatever you find the most fun thank you for watching my guide I hope it helped as mentioned earlier I stream on Twitch Tuesday through Sunday starting at 6 PM Eastern feel free to stop by and ask me any tarkov related questions until next time guys peace out
