How To Fly FIRST CLASS on Spirit Airlines

party time in the spirit can we make America's most hated Airline first class we're not sure so we're about to give it a try hello jet Setters we've come to Atlantic City New Jersey to fly Spirit Airlines to Myrtle Beach South Carolina can we make the experience first class join us to find out Spirit Airlines is known far and wide as an ultimate low-cost carrier cheap fares tiny seats no frills but we're gonna see just how first class we could make the experience key keep watching and let us know whether you'd call this a Spirit Airlines first class experience we're slated to depart Atlantic City at 8 20 this morning we'll fly for an hour and 15 minutes at 32 000 feet covering 466 miles before touching down just before 10 A.M but the cabin crew had other plans there's no food on spirit so treat yourself to a meal in the airport beforehand first class tip number one Airport restaurants fall into two broad categories they're either really terrible or they're really good they're not very many in the latter category but thankfully this one was breakfast hit the spot but maybe more importantly the coffee was just what we needed after a good time on the Atlantic City Boardwalk they're kind of fancy I'm just gonna do this we want to share with you what we've done to make the Spirit Airlines experience as first class as possible we pay to upgrade to the Big Friend seat so we'll have some extra space and we'll have the whole road to ourselves we paid for an extra carry-on bag which means we get to board early and I packed this video so I feel a little more fancy and with her earrings and her pillow we made our way over to the gate Spirit Airlines is serious about their carry-on bag requirements so make sure you do your research because ancillary revenue is a key part of how they make their money and they're going to make it from you if you're not sure about what you can bring on board other than charter flights spirit is the only commercial airline serving Atlantic City with airplanes American does offer bus service to Philadelphia and it's really too bad there isn't more service here the boardwalk is a fantastic spot we had a blast exploring this beautiful beachfront Town turns out there's a lot more to Atlantic City than just gambling I think I might be in the minority here but uh one of my favorite liveries has to be Spirit Airlines there's something about that yellow color that I just love every time I see it I've got to take a picture of it I've got to look at it so check out this uh this Airbus taxiing I don't think that's headed to Fort Myers say what you will about them it's just a good looking airplane I spotted our Airbus a319 it would take us all the way to Myrtle Beach today so this is gonna be my first time flying Spirit Airlines and you know all you hear about is how stressful and I'd stabilized the experience is but I will say being this early in the morning it's not crowded here we didn't weigh in many lines to make it feel a little more first class fly in the morning that's always great advice really in general Airlines tend to operate run their operations a little bit more smoothly in the morning so if you want to reduce your chance of delays not eliminate them but reduce your chance of delays Supply in the morning words I'd live to regret one thing that can that can affect you no matter the airline or the class of service you're in or delays and it looks like we're facing one apparently there's a flight attendant who didn't show up so we're waiting for her to get here in order for us to depart regardless looks like we're going to face a little bit of a delay hopefully this works itself out but you just never know today's flight is booked onto an Airbus a319 and you have to have one flight attendant for every 50 passengers Spirit has 149 seats on their a319s that means we need three flight attendants and they're only two on board right now so hopefully hopefully this third one shows up soon and we did what tens of thousands of other Spirit Airlines passengers have done through the years we waited out the delay goodness is you can always find ways to pass time in an airport [Music] I think the flight attendant just should have the extra flight attendants just strolled up so it's looking good very leisurely stroll let's be grateful this is here and just over an hour later than scheduled it's happening we're boarding Airlines arranges its cabins in a 3-3 configuration however at the front you'll find rows of so-called big front seats which are set in a 2-2 Arrangement and for an extra 82 dollars a piece that's where we sat it's huge it feels like an old armchair at your grandma's house he's not kidding leather's super soft it's really like let's call it what it is it's basically a major U.S Airlines first classes but it's really nice these seats do not recline and there's no power on board but comfortable you will find lights and air vents above your head though somewhere oh it's five o'clock here I think that's what we're going to be having on this flight suddenly the announcement came that boarding was complete and you know what that means [Music] [Music] Wi-Fi was available for purchase and I gave it a shot it wasn't very fast but it got the job done access to the in-flight map was free and easily accessible on a mobile device a standard size tray table was available in the armrest it was the perfect perch for my iPad but be sure to download something to watch before you leave the ground no streaming entertainment on board spirit and about that time a flight attendant came to our seats and asked if we'd like to purchase any food we asked for the five o'clock combo that's two buzz balls and a snack tequila Rita and Lada colada more like my buzz ball shaken not stirred what could be classier than a buzz ball tasting I can't say I'll jump with the opportunity to have another buzz ball anytime soon but it was a nice way to class up our Spirit Airlines experience or at least make the time go more quickly we feel really fortunate to have been able to book the big front seats the back of the a319 on Spirit Airlines can be pretty tight I flew with him a few years back as part of our low-cost carrier comparison where we ranked Allegiant Frontier and spirit I'll link to that series below [Music] 20 minutes left in Flight We've Just Begun our initial approach into Myrtle Beach it's time to give Spirit Airlines a Jeb score we'll rate the lounge the seat the food the in-flight entertainment and the service first Spirit like its soon to be new owner JetBlue does not offer lounges zero Stars the big front seat is pretty cool to be honest the leather was really soft and even though it doesn't recline it's comfortable four stars here the food was not my favorite it's pretty basic you don't want to be too hungry on a Spirit flight two stars here the Ife was extremely basic but access to a no-cost map is worth something let's say two stars finally the service it's hard to ignore that one of our flight attendants did not show up maybe something came up that was more important but it was too bad that it took them more than an hour to find a replacement especially since Atlantic City is a crew base for the airline but once we got going the crew were pretty good three stars here so that leaves Spirit Airlines from Atlantic City to Myrtle Beach with 11 out of 25 Stars that's worse than the American Airlines bus service but don't forget this is an ultra low-cost carrier which leaves the question remaining can you make Spirit Airlines first class to me the answer is no a low cost No Frills carrier is a low cost No Frills carrier embrace it for what it is a cheap way to get from one place to another if you want more eat better book with another airline between now and the next time see you in the sky [Music] no City but they're chairs right here as far as I'm concerned hash browns are only there as a vehicle for ketchup and we don't have to share our row with any random people no offense to you random people and we paid for a checked bag which means we can board early actually a carry-on bag we checked a bag so we get to board early no we paid for a carry-on bag so I packed this pillow so we can so you can lean on the pillow no pre-departure beverage no problem bring your own she's entering the uh the Jet Bridge
