How to fix Left 4 dead 2 crash on windows 10

hello guys this is fulton spy and like a lot of you probably have done i upgraded to windows 10 recently i heard a lot of good things about it it's supposed to be better for games and stuff like that and getting apps on your computer is nice but i couldn't play left 4.2 anymore it kept clashing on entering a server and i tried a couple stuff and then it wouldn't even start so i'm gonna show you guys how to get it running again what i did and what worked for me it might not work for you keep that in mind i'm gonna show you what i did to get it running again so you wanna go to your steam folder steam page and right click on left 4.2 and then you want to go to local files verify the integrity of the game cache i'm not gonna do it right now but with me it downloaded two additional files about three megabytes in size i don't know if that did anything but another thing i tried and that also worked for me let's see you should go to your steam folder let's see you know steam folder steam apps common and then go to left for that too pick the left for that exe you know the file you you use to start your game with right click and now you should get the properties of level.2 go to compatibility and make sure it is not running under any compatibility this bug this box should be ticked off if i tried running under windows 8 or windows 7 my game wouldn't even start so that's what i did to get the game running again i've seen a lot of people having these problems and on steam forums they couldn't help me and this is basically what i tried and it worked for me i can run the game again without any problems no crashing no lag or whatever so guys if this helped for you let me know in the comments and if it didn't let me know also and maybe we can help you so alright that is that's it for this video guys and see you on the next video
