How To Fix “The Gateway Connection Timeout” in Wuthering Waves - Full Guide

hey hello guys it's how to attack simplified back again with another easy tutorial and today I'm going to show you how to fix the error codes the Gateway connection timed out please try again later in watering waves now this is a very common issue and I'm going to show you exactly how to fix it so stay till the end so you don't miss any important information now the first step that we want to take is actually opening up your watering wav application as you can see right here and in the top right corner of your screen you see a little uh yeah gear icon I simply press this and confirm uh this will allow your uh watering wav application to check if there's any missing files and verify them to be correct now as you can see um the Integrity of my games file is verified so that isn't the issue now what we want to do next we want to fully close the watering Waves application so go to the button right of your screen uh find the little Hidden Icon watering waves and exit it out now from here what we want to do is we want to open up the search bar and type in Windows Defender Firewall now this will open up the control panel as you can see right here because now we're going to um yeah actually allow watering waves inside the firewall of our windows so here allow an app or feature now from here make sure to press the change settings uh key right here and from there scroll all all the way down till you find the watering Waves application so simply go to the W and from there scroll down and we find the watering waves and as you can see if I check this box it isn't allowed now make sure that the private Network and the public network are both allowed and from there you press uh apply now if you can't find weing wave simply allow another app and here uh browse the network and look for for the folder that is uh watering waves inside select it and from there press open select the exe file and then you can allow it in your firewall now let's say this isn't the problem what we could also do let's say uh your game doesn't recognize it uh your windows doesn't recognize watering waves simply what you can do is right click it open up the file location and from there we're going inside the file location once more right here uh and go to the launcher.exe now from there we right click it again and we open up the properties of the game now here we have the properties of the game and we're going to the compatibility Tab and inside the compet compatibility tab make sure to run this program as an administrator now from here simply uh press this and press apply press okay this make sure that it overrides everything to allow uh watering waves to uh run in a compatibility mode now next you can also check the settings right here so simply go to the Windows system settings and inside the system settings we go to the network and internet connections to temporarily turn off our vpns as you can see right here and check if that fixes the issue because sometimes a VPN will interfere with the connection of the game now let's say you've tried all these options and it's still didn't uh fix your issue simply open up these settings and go to Windows update settings and here make sure that your Windows system is up to date now from there simply restart your computer and that should be about it now if you still get any other questions leave them down in the comments uh if this content has helped you please consider subscribing to my YouTube channel this helps me out a lot and thanks for watching
