How To Draw A Cartoon Pineapple

hey friends today we're drawing a pineapple it's gonna be a lot of fun now i hope you're gonna follow along with me if i go too fast during this lesson though remember you can always pause the video i hope you have your markers ready and you have some paper now i'm using two sheets of paper so that my marker doesn't go through to the table all right first step we're gonna draw the shape of the pineapple and it's a big oval shape so we're gonna start up here in the middle of our paper and we're gonna draw this big shape come around and then back up it's like an oval shape there we go now we're going to draw the leaves on top and they got these really spiny prickly leaves on the top so we're going to draw a curved line that comes out of the middle and curves off to the side now we're going to start up at the top and we're going to draw a curved line back but we're going to get further away towards the bottom now we're going to repeat that same shape except on the other side so we're going to start right here draw a curve off to the left then we're going to start at the top again and draw the same shape coming down now that we have those two leaf shapes on top of our pineapple we're going to repeat those same steps going up and create a stack of leaves all right we finished our leaves now the last two that i that i drew on here i drew them shorter they're a lot smaller than the rest of the leaves next up i'm going to add a funny face to my pineapple and you can leave this off if you just want to draw a pineapple without the face but first step i'm going to draw a circle over here on the left and i'm going to draw a circle on the right and this is for the eyes and then inside of these circles i'm going to draw smaller circles for the light reflecting in his eyes so we've got a big circle on top and a small circle on the bottom now remember you can always pause the video if i go too fast now inside of these eyes the big circles i'm going to color them in and leave the smaller ones white all right now we're going to draw a smile and the first step i'm going to draw is the the top of the smile and then i'm going to draw the bottom of the smile next so i'm going to draw the same curve underneath this one but i'm going to connect the edges so i'm going to connect the top to the bottom with a little curve and that's going to be on both sides and then inside of here i'm going to draw an upside down curve for the tongue there we go now i'm going to color in the top of the mouth but leave the tongue white okay we're finished with our pineapple and the funny face i'm going to put my marker off to the side and i've got my colored pencils you really can use anything to color your pineapple you don't have to use colored pencils you could use oil pastels you could even use paint if you want now i'm going to fast forward this part but you can pause the video at the end to match the coloring okay i used a light brown to color the body of the pineapple and i used a light green to color the leaves it doesn't quite look like a pineapple yet because we need to create the texture of the pineapple on the body now i'm going to use the dark brown to create a crisscross pattern on the pineapple okay we got that texture now it looks a lot more like a pineapple now the last thing i'm going to do is add shading to the leaves and you could leave this part off if you want to but i have a dark green and i'm going to add a little shadow at the bottom of the leaves so i'm going to press really hard so it's dark and then towards the top of the leaf i'm going to get lighter and lighter until it's completely faded out just like that i'm going to repeat that for each leaf all right i finished my pineapple i hope you had a lot of fun following along with me i'm sure your drawings look amazing too but don't worry if your drawings don't look exactly like mine it's okay if they look different the most important thing is to have fun and to practice i promise the second time you draw your pineapple it'll turn out better than the first time we'll see you later our friends goodbye [Music]
