How to Dice a Pineapple - Tips and Tricks from Newbury College

[Music] hi my name is Paul Toronto I'm a graduate of a rer sa School of Hotel and restaurant management at new BR college today we're going to talk about pineapples and fruit in general and how to dice a pineapple so most fruit you do the same way but um this is how I like to do it we cut the top of the pineapple we cut the bottom of the pineapple this is where you can make your fancy garnishes if you like we're going to put that in a bowl into the side stand the fruit up on its um top or bottom end and we go right along these brown little little nuggets here so we make one cut down and we use these brown spots to do our next Cuts right along right along it's important to have a sharp knife that way you don't butcher the food as you go so once the pineapple is skinned this is great to do with a melon as well the same way take that put that aside and we're going to go right along we're going to make a small dice right along that core this middle piece is the core so we're going to go right along that pineapples get slippery so it's a good idea to have a nice rag to W your border should go so now we have our core good thing to snack on and we're just going to make nice dices like so so this is a diced [Music] pineapple
