[Music] when it comes to backing up your photos online no service manages to outdo Google photos in terms of features price and ease of use unlike most services Google photos gives you free unlimited space for hosting your photos in the cloud so long as you're willing to put up with high resolution versions of your precious memories of course there comes a time when you might have to shutter your Google Photos account and you want to make sure those photos are gone for good let's take a look at how to delete all your photos from Google photos you have a couple different options on how to delete your photos from your devices on Android or iOS open up the Google photos application press and hold on your first photo to select it then drag your finger to the bottom of your screen you'll begin selecting each individual photo as you swipe through your library selecting them automatically as your display slides obviously for large photo libraries this will take some time as you swipe through your photos but after a few minutes you should have everything selected hit the trashcan at the top of the icon and everything will be moved to your trash can then hit the menu icon in photos select your trash and remove the content from your account permanently in theory desktop should make this much easier since you can use a mouse and keyboard to scroll around your photos unfortunately we found the desktop site to be finicky if you try to select too much at once to select your photos start by clicking the left check mark on your first photo then begin scrolling down your photo collection don't slide too far down the list however as you can only select a certain amount of photos at a time hold shift and select the next checkmark then slide down further repeat this till you get to the bottom of the page then you can delete your photo library we have one final option to look at and that comes down to using Google Drive to delete your entire photo collection first open google photos on your desktop select the menu icon then select settings make sure that the Google Drive option is selected and turned on in your photo settings jump over to Google Drive and look for the Google photos folder in your collection while you can delete this folder that won't actually delete your photo collection as a safeguard google has made it so that deleting the photos folder doesn't harm your photos instead dive into the folder then hold shift and click on the first entry scroll all the way to the bottom of this folder then hold shift and click the last item to select all click on the trash can icon and your photos will be removed from your account if you liked this guide make sure to check out these other videos you might like and subscribe to tech junky for brand new videos every day [Music]
