hello guys today I'm going to be showing you how I decorate my builds and how you can use the steps I do to improve your builds too cuz it's really not that hard trust me you can do it I'm going to break every part of how to decorate into different sections so whatever you're struggling with you can go to that specific chapter or section to learn about it because I want this to be as detailed and educational as possible the most vital thing about decorating or any type of interior design is you need something to base your idea off obviously in your head you might have some sort of concept you're like oh I want to build this house because I like the exterior oh I saw this really cute couch on Instagram and I want to put it in my build the way I get inspiration is obviously through this app called Pinterest or Instagram I use both I have this board called build inspo and this is where I save all the potential rooms and ideas that I want to use in a build this is pretty common I think most Builders or any builder in general if you're a YouTuber or not you base your build or something off of some specific idea or something you see for me I don't plan out the entire house I just go with one room and then I run with it so for example here's a picture I found on Pinterest and I use this in my 5x5 house as you can tell we have the arch I took that idea and I ran with it and this is what I got from that build it just kind of spawned into this room obviously ideas bounce off of that so I didn't literally find every single piece of this house on Pinterest I saw one cool element which was the arched entryway thing and it was very circular geometric wise so that's just one way you can find ideas if you're confused don't worry I'm going to go more into detail this is just kind of the overview basis of how it begins as you can tell by a lot of my boards I don't really save kitchens I save a lot of specific elements or statement pieces so here's an example of me using a statement piece to start a build we have this carpet circular and it has bows on it I looked at it and I said okay I want to do a Christmas house and I want it to be pink and white for that winter pink Wonderland theme so I used just this and I turned it into this obviously it doesn't look the same but you could see the similarity in how one thing evolves into something else you start with one thing and then ideas just spiral from there in my opinion if you're just trying to follow a picture there's not going to be any room for your imagination to figure out other cool things to put in your interior and then it just becomes too cookie cutter and your brain's not really developing a style it's not coming up with ideas and then it's just boring now obviously don't limit yourself to just finding inspiration through how I find it which is statement pieces or random things because you can find inspiration in so many ways I'll literally find inspiration from looking at a dollhouse at a store or just a color scheme or a movie set so everyone's going to find it in a different way don't take that as just you have to do it my way you know now obviously I am aware that if you're doing an interior you're probably struggling a little bit with layouts the thing you need to keep in mind if you're going to use a layout from a pre-made house that you find on Pinterest or the Internet it's never going to be the scale bloxburg items are very very tiny compared to a real life item they don't scale up the same so for example if you're going to make a bedroom like this this should only be three squares long and then maybe three squares wide because the thing is this may look really big in real life this bed in bloxburg is going to be way smaller than it is here this dresser would be a lot thinner in bloxburg so take this room right it's a little t- room all these areas over here are really small and we want them to be small because you don't want so much big open space I'm sure you've all seen those homes where they're so big and then there's two pieces of furniture in the middle of the house and the rest is just gray and plain and there's nothing to decorate it so it's just super out of place and it looks weird I would say the most you want to do for every room would be three to four wide or long and that's it and then if you're trying to make a really big room then you could hit it up to five but really five is kind of Overkill if you're using basic shapes you kind of want to make a smaller room because basic shapes are so tiny you have so much room that you don't need to make any room ginormous let's just say for example you are trying to follow a real life layout like they're just freaking huge 22x 17 I I can't read this okay I don't know what this thing's trying to say but don't follow it by the numbers it gives you okay just do 3 to four for each room that's all you really need all my bedrooms are usually 3x3 there's so much space where I literally could fit two beds in here and then this one's also a 3X3 and we have just one bed but there's so much room you could put so much stuff in here really for a bedroom you shouldn't be doing anything bigger than that the common basis of any room that I'm decorating if that's a living room a kitchen a bedroom there's always a statement piece and if you're a YouTuber and you're watching this I'm going to tell you this right now if you're making a thumbnail there needs to be a focal point that your eyes immediately go to and that applies to builds too so obviously if you're making a room you don't want it to be cluttered with 10,000 statement pieces that wouldn't look good for example in a dining room the statement piece of that room is the dining table and then everything around it kind of just adds an accent and adds to the build but the statement piece is the dining room table and the rest of the dining room is basically to complement or add to the table or contrast it you know and this also goes for a bedroom obviously the focal point of a bedroom is the bed so you kind of want to focus on making making the bed the most detailed part or the grandest part of the room and everything else sort of complement it but it doesn't take away from it you know in this room the bed is obviously the focal point it's the most biggest statement piece of the room and as you can tell all the super bright colors and everything detailed the theme of this entire bedroom is on this bed right and then as you turn around it's more neutral around the bedroom this dresser over here is so neutral there's still colors but this is where you want to be this piece is what you should be doing first and then you build off of it to create the rest of the atmosphere in the bedroom here we had the ribbons so I added a decal with pink stars and snowflakes to accent that area and then over here similar textures and patterns to go with the already existing bed right here this is my statement piece of the kitchen even though it's technically not the biggest part of this room because over here we have this big Archway too but all the details and all the colors and everything about the style I'm going for is in this little vicinity and then I built off of what this was to make everything around it now in this room the living room the big eye-catching factor is the fireplace with the wall coming out that's basically the first thing your eyes see besides the big carpet which is the other statement piece you basically see how the big things create the scenery around it if you're looking how to fill up wall space in your house the only thing you got to do is invest in some good wall trim there's so many ways to do it so you can mismatch wall trims to make the area look fuller if I only had this decal the room would look so boring this is a monstrosity it's so ugly there's nothing to it and it just looks plain by adding wall trims of all different variations I just completely filled up the space now the room looks complete right if you're not really someone who likes decals you could just stick to the traditional wall trims like the flat crown molding in the baseboards but if you want to spice it up a little bit you know what to do if you watch my videos head over to Ellie decals they have tons and tons of decals that you can use for wall trim it doesn't make the room look smaller it just makes it look fuller another instance of this is this big wall right here as you can tell this wall is so long it's like five blocks wide which is more than the usual that you should do because I already had this layout set up I really didn't want to mess it up so I found an alternative which was splitting up the walls here into sections and I did these pattern wallpapers on the sides and then in the Middle where all the decoration was I had a different contrasting lace wall trim because there's a lot of variety on the wall it doesn't feel like it's empty and it just feels really connected everything BL Blends together so if you're looking to fill up floor space you need to pick if you want to have a blank wall with intense Decor or a detailed wall with subtle Decor so for example in the room of the Dreamhouse that I just showed you the wall was pretty simple there was just wall trim and then the tea table was super detailed there was the silverware and the placem settings so it was very thoroughly detailed where in another situation my Bohemian Loft the one kitchen wall was super super detailed I basically left the floor space in the area to be pretty open to balance the wall in the floor you don't want want too much of both because then it's just going to look cluttered usually when I'm about to start decorating the floor space I kind of figure out where I want to put everything I would say 90% of the time that's going to be in the center of the room because you want everything else to complement it so this is why having a small room is very essential because you want to make sure it's filled so say I'm decorating a living room obviously in the middle of the room there's going to be couches coffee tables and all that sort of stuff the way to keep adding on to this room and complimenting what you already have is find things that relate to the living room setting that's things such as table lamps books desks for example you wouldn't put a laundry basket in a living room and this is where the whole statement piece chapter comes in handy because those statement pieces help build the room and then it formulates into a full area another way to fill up space is just with decals which I do so much you can use a decal as a wallpaper little tiny Polaroids picture frames it's perfect for adding color to a bland area or just trying to Accent the room anything of that sort and if you're going to use decals be careful of what you choose because you want the decal to match the furniture and the theme of whatever room you're doing if you've noticed most of my decals will match the color scheme of the room that I'm using just be very mindful of the decals you pick and experiment for example I use decals in my Dreamhouse for the fashion designer room I use them as sketch notes on the walls so it ties into the fashion designing theme I also used it as wallpaper in my Christmas house to further tie into the color scheme and I also used it in the carpet to give that accent piece I wanted I have no idea where to place this so I'm just going to put it here color schemes are super important I made an entire video on how to color and my color schemes because everyone asked me how I develop my color palettes and how I color things and if you want my custom color codes they're in that video I'm only going to glaze over it but if you want an in-depth video of how I do colors watch that one for me for my Interiors I always do a neutral wall and then I do intense colors on the furniture and decor just because I like how the furniture stands out or you could do it on the flip side neutral furniture and then an intense wall color I do that occasionally I don't usually go crazy with wall colors this way I can accent the wall with decals and further decorations such as wall trim but for me specifically bold colors stay on the furniture accents and very tiny little items so I'm sure you've seen I use coasters flowers anything of that sort chairs and I'll color them super bright colors but the really big furniture such as couches beds and all that stuff should stay neutral and the little things you add to accentuate the piece and make it look more detailed should be what's colored and once you've done all that your build should look so beautiful so sexy I just want to also say that there's so many other ways to at a build and once again this video is just on my process and how I decorate and everyone's different so your way might be way different than mine if this tutorial did help you out let me know I like to read the comments and get feedback and if you have any questions just also ask in the comments and I will try to answer them if you're confused on anything else usually in my commentary videos I do go in depth of what I'm building and I explain what I'm doing so you can always watch those too if you watched all the way to the end thank you for watching this tutorial and I'll see you next week you know you love me xo xo French roses [Music] girl
