How to Create an SRT File with AI | Auto Subtitle Generator

- As you might know, SRT files are super helpful to use as close captions for videos across multiple platforms. SRT files make videos more accessible to watch and offer great SEO benefits for creators. To increase the chance to reach a broader audience and get more views. But it holds creators back writing subtitles out manually because it can be a time-consuming and tedious task. But what if I told you that now with the help of AI, you can automatically transcribe your audio. And video files to subtitles and instantly download them as an SRT file all in just a few clicks. For this example, we'll be using VEED Simple Online Video Editor and you can instantly get started. We're gonna use this to create our SRT files with AI. So to get started, all you need to do is upload your file. So we're gonna click on upload a file, select the audio or video file you want to import and click on open. Then after a moment, the video or audio file is imported into the editor and we can get started. So to generate SRT files, we're gonna use VEED's AI transcription tool to automatically subtitle our videos. So to make this happen, all you need to do is head over to subtitles in the left menu. Then we're gonna click on auto subtitle. Then you select the language you speak in your audio or video file. In this case, it's English. And then click on create subtitles. And then all you need to do is wait a moment until the auto transcription tool transcribe the audio to text and turn it into sync subtitles. And there I have it. (magical wand chiming) So if you play back the video, you'll see the subtitles are created and they're synced with the audio of the video. And now we're free to fully edit the subtitles the way we want. Even though everything's already really accurate in this case, you can easily change the words of the subtitles, you can change the sentences. You can add new subtitle lines, you can split them, merge them. You can extend and shorten the timing. Then when you're content with your AI generated subtitles, you can instantly turn it into an SRT file. To make this happen, it's very easy. All you need to do is head over to options in the subtitles menu. Then hover your mouse over the download option and you will see three formats appear in which you can download your subtitles or transcript as. As you can see, you can choose SRT format, VTT format and text. In this case, we're gonna select SRT format. So all I need to do is press it and it will automatically download it as an SRT file to my device. And that's it. So now you've downloaded your SRT file and you can use this file to upload as close captions to let's say your YouTube videos. So your viewers can easily toggle on the closed captions as they watch your video. So that's how you easily generate SRT files with AI.
