how to create a bootable USB installer for Mac OS Ventura before you begin you will need a u V drive with at least 14 gigabytes of storage and I have some recommendations Down Below in the description go ahead and connect that drive Step One open the Mac App Store search for Mac OS Ventura and then click get to download the Mac OS Ventura installer once you do software update will open it's going to check for updates and it'll prompt you to download now if it doesn't initially you want to just go back to the Mac App Store click get again and then it should prompt you to download the Mac OS Ventura installer so there we go so just click download and now it's going to start downloading Mac OS Ventura now this is a very large download so it may take some time depending on your internet connection I've sped this up just to get you through it all right so once it's downloaded after just a few seconds you will see the Ventura installer screen that looks just like this now in this case you don't want to click the continue button you actually want to just close the installer by using command Q on your keyboard to quit and then confirm that you want to quit alright so now you want to open up a finder window and you want to locate your USB drive that we plugged in initially and you want to make sure there's nothing on that drive you need because it's going to delete all the content so just make sure there's nothing there that you actually need now you want to go to Applications and right click on install Mac OS Ventura select show package contents double click on contents double click on resources and then find create install media alright so just set that aside for now now we want to open up a terminal window so we can do so a variety of ways you can search for it via Spotlight you can can open it via the launch pad I'm going to use Spotlight so command space type in terminal press return and there we go so the first thing we want to type in here is sudo Sudo space then back to your finder window drag create install media over to the terminal and release like this and it inserts the path with a space afterwards now you want to type in dash dash volume space and now we want to drag the volume location of the USB drive to the terminal so to do that select your USB drive right click and select show an enclosing folder and there you go there's your SanDisk USB in this case now another way to get to this is to go up to the Go menu and finder select go to folder and then type in slash volumes and there you go as well so either way you can get the volume location to drag over to the terminal so that's what we're going to do just drag the SanDisk USB over to the terminal release and there you go there's the full command that we need and now we press return on our keyboard and it's going to ask for the administrator password so you want to go ahead and enter that and then press return and then it's going to confirm or ask you to confirm that you want to proceed so you want to just type the letter Y and then press return on your keyboard it's going to erase that disk and then Mac OS May request that you give the terminal access to that volume so you want to click OK on the prompt years and now it's going to after erasing the disk make the disc bootable and proceed through that now this process does take a while I've sped it up here so just be patient it'll complete in due time so once it is completed you'll see install media now available and it gives you the location of that now you can close out of terminal and if we go back to our finder window scroll down you'll see now install Mac OS Ventura so we have the our installer created super simple super easy so now you can use this to install Mac OS without having to go through downloading the full installer this can speed up your workflow especially if you're on a slower internet connection where you're actually deploying Mac OS Ventura so now you just want to eject the drive and you can remove it like that now when you're ready to actually use it you just insert the drive with your Mac powered off if you're using a Mac with apple silicon you simply press and hold the power button continue holding it you'll see a message saying continue holding for startup options and then eventually it'll say loading startup options in which case you can then release the power button now it will give you the startup selection options so one of those options will be Mac OS Ventura installer so give it a second and there you go install Mac OS Ventura so you can just use your arrow keys to select that and then click where it says continue then it will actually load up recovery mode you'll have to verify your administrator password before proceeding with the installation however you plan on installing it whether you plan on installing it on the main volume or a separate volume whatever the case may be this allows you to do so in a way that doesn't require you to download the full Mac OS Venture installer especially handy if you have slower internet connection wherever you're deploying Mac OS Ventura and I'll be following up with another video showing how to install Mac OS on a separate volume so you can actually dual boot Mac OS Monterey and Mac OS Ventura if you want to keep both so let me know what you think in the comments this is Jeff with cellular
