it's just hard to paper isn't it ah hey oops to be in video mode hey everyone right so let me sort out this microphone today i thought i'd do a small video for you guys on correcting uh polish on this watch what's happened with this auto focus so as you can see this is a maurice laqua and i'll show you on the screen shot what it was supposed to look like initially um but for whatever reason it's been completely mirror polished all over from the previous service so what we'll do is try and correctly polish on this to its original factory polish to show you the watch so you can see it's all mirror polished everywhere the side has retained a little bit of the original finish the only bit that should be mirrored is this center section here the horizontal straight grain on this link and then these links is supposed to have a vertical grain so what we'll do is we'll take this apart and we'll try and get the original factory polish back on there can you pass me the hammer please first we'll take off this one and there should be a tube in there somewhere with the tube can you pass me the hammer mr trouble here you go the pin out later [Applause] there's a tube it's just standard eta 955 just push it here release the crown movement out those are the case just brush out that glass trying to do this speed repair there's the glass there's the case there's a little gasket here that we need to remove gasket has cracked so we'll need to replace that the casement so we have the felt wheel here and we have a stitch mop here and we'll use the stitch mop you'd use the felt wheel if if you wanted to work on a really flat surface but since this bracelet and the case are quite curved we use the stitch mark because the stitch mark is still quite stiff yet it still gives us a little bit of play to hug the case to hug the contours of the case whereas the felt wheel would just be used on a really flat surface so we don't want to really flatten anything out we want to keep the curves so what we'll do is we'll use the stitch mark yes yeah just move it around like that let the mop do whatever it wants you just do that okay good boy okay so all will get rid of all these other little scratches and everything before we apply this the brush finish will polish it even more so we get rid of all those scratches show us the case it's getting that need a bit more as you can see there are still a few stubborn scratches on there and so what we're gonna do is try and remove all these deep scratches by polishing it further and further and if our initial cut is good then our final polish will be good as well a few left here and we work on the sides as well see the side is quite square and straight so we can use the felt wheel to do this sides so that we can keep it nice and square okay so now we're just working on the center part of the bracelet yeah there's loads of scratches on it and you can see the fill is hugging that curve here rather than flattening it out there's the case back you can do the clasp as well hello come on then do you want to help as well yeah can i help come on then come on then on come on okay come on okay guys so this is after the first cut and we're not trying to make it perfect on the first cut i just want to get rid of those deep look at the state of my nails man i need to cut my nails hello worm are you using the pencil i need a pencil cheek okay so i think my next video has to be on how to give you something manicure using a dremel anyway so as i was saying this is just the first cut just to get rid of all those deep scratches and this is what we have so far there's the back and just hide this serial number again on the second cut we get rid of all those finer swirls and scratches but the first cut is usually just to get rid of all the deep stuff and then you can do a second cut using a final map so we've got rid of most of all those deep scratches okay okay guys so now i'm using applying the final polish to the center part which is going to stay mirrored and i'm using this softer mop you can use a cotton mark or the swans down and all sorts you can use this one's got about i don't know 200 plies or something and i'll use um you can use a final buffing compound for stainless steel there are various ones out there so whatever takes your fancy all right so how to approach this now so we want a horizontal grain on these sections here and then we want a vertical grain on these sections here and we want it polished here so it's a bit tricky so i think what i'll do is i'll do these ones first and then we'll have to tape up the center sections and then do the vertical brush on these sections here so a bit tricky but that's the way we'll approach it fold that section over like that [Music] you can see coming along i'm using the fine buffalix wheel on this one but you can if you want a bigger grain you can use a medium coarse one but i'm using this one which is fine so it gives me it gives me a finer brush but if you want a thicker grain then you can use a thicker buffalox wheel so as you can see so far now i've heat taped up the center and now what we can do is fold this bit and then do the vertical grain on these two sides here [Music] [Music] okay you can see how you've just brushed the side compared to the mirror on the other side and it's looking not too bad and then again if you have a look on this side you can see it's mirrored [Music] so so there you have it guys i hope you found this one useful and if you did please give it a like give it a share give it a thumbs up thumbs down whatever makes you feel happy and i will see you on the next one god willing tara you
