How to copy text from Secured PDF on Mac! [2 ways]

hi and welcome to a new video pdf files can be secured so they have copy content restrictions which means the text inside the document can be copied in this video i'll show you two methods on how you can get past these restrictions so that you can copy any text from a protected pdf and paste it into your document on your mac let's go for any pdf you can just search for a word so you don't have to find where it is on the document manually this is of course very useful when doing research but the problem is that sometimes the pdf file is secured and the contents are protected which means you won't be able to copy sentences and just paste them into your document the first method to solve this problem is very easy and works on a windows pc or a macbook right click on the pdf then open with and choose google chrome if you don't have google chrome installed on your mac you can download it from their official website which can be found in the video description below now you have the pdf file opened in the browser just click the print icon or press command p on destination choose save as pdf then click save here just enter the file name of your new pdf and confirm with save now here is the same pdf but with no copy content restrictions so now you can copy all the content inside the document the second option only works for mac since this feature comes with mac os x called live text i'll open the protected document and show you how it works locate to the page where you want to copy the text and press shift command 4 to take a screenshot on a portion of your screen now use the pointer to set where you want to start the screenshot and drag the cursor until the text you want to copy is covered by the screenshot tool and release the cursor open the screenshot and with the live text feature it recognizes the characters and you can highlight and copy the text to paste it into your document you can also do this with youtube videos zoom meeting presentations and many more you can also just convert the whole pdf into sets of images so you don't have to take screenshots again and again open the pdf file then click on file select export and give it a name in the format section choose png and change the resolution to 300 pixels per inch tap save once you are done customizing the export settings now close the original protected document and open the newly created file this file is a set of png images and with the live text feature you can copy any text from it and paste it into your document that's it if i could help you feel free to give this video a thumbs up and don't forget to subscribe leave a comment down below if you have any questions see you next time bye
