hello it's marco matorist here from markham 3d and today we're going to try and clean up the jankiness out of this motion capture data so in the first part of the video we're going to do kind of like a global cleanup and in the second part of the video we're going to specifically target one little animation and get that resolved so if we can see here here on the right arm here you can see that it's like pretty janky kind of uh doesn't flow too well and it kind of snaps around so this is probably uh motion capture suit wasn't configured properly or well enough but let's try and fix this up so first thing i'm going to do is select our armature from here i'm going to press tab to go into edit mode there we go let's change the nla editor over to our graph editor and you can see that we've got lots and lots and lots what i like to do now is have everything selected i press space to search or f3 or fn f3 if you're on a laptop and i'm just going to type in smooth keys and then smooth keys again and then what i also like to do is just kind of clean up the lines a little bit so what i like to do as well is search for clean keyframes press enter on that and we should see a whole bunch of stuff disappear and not really some of it did now if we come back into the nla editor and we push the animation back up because at the moment you can see that it's chugging along but if i come back up here and press tab now it'll run nice and smoothly and hopefully now it gets rid of the jankiness subscribe it got rid of a bit of it but everything else should be a lot smoother for this little piece in here where it flicks up let's see if we can fix that up real quick so let's go back tab into edit mode back into the graph editor let's go into pose mode and let's now find our elbow i think that's the right arm so let's go yep so that's grabbing everything what i'm going to do now is zoom all the way in we know it's this keyframe this area here where it jumps up so if we expand that down let's get rid of x and y location the scales and we can see that this bit here just like the steepness so maybe if we delete these three keyframes actually in the whole armature or the whole elbow sorry so if we maybe go here all these delete keyframes and now hopefully when we come back into the nla editor press tab to go back into object mode there we go it's not such a big jank anymore so it's a pretty big difference to what we had before to what we got now please make sure you like and subscribe to the channel really helps me out keeps updating my content
