How to buy a used Volvo D13

[Music] [Applause] it's loud what's that what's going on well i'm taking a look at this right now uh dpf looks like it was cleaned out or replaced you can see all the new zip ties right here yeah brakes were done um it has a new gasket on there the timing cover in the back was replaced yeah they're updated they come with that plastic it looks like it looks like it did a lot of work to it yeah yeah it does i wonder if it works well well he brought the other one so we can go check that out i'll drive it yeah so we're buying we're looking at those two d30s 2016. we're running some tests possibly a small leak from the air compressor so just take it out and use it that's no big deal that's the original i remember we had a guy yeah frankie's peter yeah [Applause] original franklin's leader air compressor obviously original but a little leak [Music] a little bit of leaking over there i'm gonna i'm gonna i'm gonna hop in and check really quick i'm gonna hop in and check the leaks i think they were trying to figure out where the leak was coming from that's what usually happens apu controls seeing anything not collected right now i mean it looks like a 400 000 mile truck it has 300 400 420 uh the only thing is the leak in the corner i'm going to hop in the back and see water coming in yeah no i'm gonna see if there's damage maybe somebody hit it and it's patched but i'm gonna have to climb up there looks like the window uh they were checking if it was actually leaking i think they reseal it and the leak was from the window so it's always good to check because they uh the 670 is the top i've had some issues with those seals now holding this one has an idle shutdown for sure nobody there you go nobody smell smartphones so it's 480 000. it's not bad let's see if there's obviously they clean the codes this one smells nice nobody smoked here i was just checking the other one over there so what we found so far is the scr needs to be swapped yeah yeah uh it was at 57 when it should be at the minimum eighty percent but you and a good scr should be ninety percent and they but so we're thinking they what did you say about when they swapped the dps yeah the dps got cleaned out so there's a possibility that they just you know cleaned it out uh reset the codes and still have a 24 24 yeah that i mean that's fine it's not going to be no no yeah so so that means we would have to either negotiate a price based on the scr needing to be replaced or have them replace that suit [Music] another option would be you know run the truck and then we can recheck take it for a road test and then we can yeah check the other one is running unplugged from this one let's go check the other one and then we'll run the test in the end okay let's take the other one first quick what do you think so far uh what do you think i mean it's we're gonna we got that one running over there it had a lot of work done we know we definitely have i have definitely he gets one gear uh i'll probably click here have some i have some negotiation negotiation now things that i can ask for price reduction yeah this one's 480 okay so what 60 000 more the other one's at 420. that's what i like about bubbles they're quiet dude super quiet look at this nice view too yeah all new brakes around all around uh rear ends are on the newer side obviously 400 000 it's one of the air trucks right there yeah it's our better shifting shifting fine right yeah [Music] not skipping it but it's on its way out the hood yeah yeah i don't know what happened to the front end we should check it because it looks like it was all painted so some there was an accident for sure it did run into something but i don't see pulling but here i was right about the steering look you can see the play right here to here and here that needs to get swapped out what's up uh dpf wasn't touched on this one it wasn't touched at all so the way you can tell is by zip ties and um the way it looks was the seal new clamps or the clamps view is the are the zip ties so this one wasn't touched okay look at this one and then i'll show you the other one power wash the the truck before uh throwing on the paint yeah i popped this uh dose cover right here [Music] that's going to start leaking the turbo swapped out with the actuator [Music] so i recorded the other one that had newer clamps i wanted to show this one and the other one the zip ties and the clamps what you can how can you identify those touched you know well you can see also the gasket is all between these clamps yeah yeah you can see the gas i can't really see it with the camera right here they're probably not picking i don't look at that and on the other one you can see it's got no gasket on both dlc on the gps you can see there's a gasket in between those two and if you can see it will swap that means they took it apart yeah we don't have any build up over here so it looks like we got a good uh dfv all batteries yep 782 18 18. i think the whole thing will swap because this looks new yeah new tank and then i was gonna go look at the other one because this is definitely a new harness a new tank that's a nice setup look at that chain yeah set up right here the hanger and then apu inspected nicely that apu is right there tell if the tank will swap it has a lot more grime on it look at that cap here you can see it had a issue with that a lot better so what do we got yeah like this one the most recent is uh 81 the other one we're showing what 57 81 most recent 82 83 84. this one's a lot better [Music] okay so that's that has some light in it yeah and we didn't run a region once you run the region you'll get more more accurate uh rigging yeah let's run a region on the other one and see it should ever get there so it shows more but that's better all right so we got what do we have so level at six percent right now uh right now okay so let's just explain so we're after uh uh we win region on the truck to see what's going on because we had a reading about the scr so let's check the scr yeah but still level is six percent so it has a new new dpf in it drop down a lot [Music] so it hasn't been loaded so i'm thinking if we can rely on that reading no to to to know really what the seo efficiency is since we got the outlet reads nothing was really the outlet knox was written perfect yeah so we're done i think yeah both of them are are pretty good um i will definitely make an offer i think i have an idea what i'm going to buy them for and yeah what is that i will show them yeah [Music] so we like them for sure we think oh they're clean clean and well maintained everything that we especially this one had a lot of work done i like how they all resealed that dog uh timing cover in the back
