[Music] what is up guys welcome to game is raid we are doing a something a little bit different today this is a feature that I found out about yesterday thing was and I thought it's pretty cool so I've been playing automation for a very long time slow developing game but but it's a good game but another game that I've been playing is beamng Drive so that's where the one with all the crash physics and all of that sort of thing so what I found out yesterday and I don't know if you guys know about this let me know in the comments if you've if you've known about this or or what the deal is but you can build your car and your engine in automation and then export it and drive it in beamng so I thought this is absolutely brilliant I I love this idea so I'm gonna do a quick how-to sort of thing and so I'm not gonna go into too much detail with the core but we'll we'll have a looking like a car but yeah we're gonna try and do this as quick as possible so in the main menu of automation you go sandbox mode you can see I've both a couple of cars here so you go new model this will load up but normally doesn't take too long there we go so here we've got a ton of cause I mean there's there's a huge huge variety of cars that you can choose from so I think for this build I want something with quite a bit of engine space but something I'm sort of unspectacular let's have a have a look something maybe a SUV or something like that and that could work oh here we go something like Range Rover yeah it's let's go with that so it'll select both don't worry about that because your choose the the variant like if I click the it'll select all three yeah you can you can select the one the specific one you want later on so here's the chassis so we're gonna do aluminum or aluminium depending where you from we'll go monocoque chassis you can do ladder or space frame or anything like that that's pretty cool but will be monocoque that's fine glued aluminium let's say galvanized steel corrosion resistant steel hmm let's go galvanized steel let's find right engine placement so front transverse means the engines placed like that or longer - how do you how do you pronounce that longer - dnal longitudinal that's on it's placed in a configuration like that so the Pistons would be running in that direction or in that direction the the block we're gonna go longitudinal because I think it's just gonna work a bit better for what we want to do so we'll have it run that way and connect up to the gearbox straight to the wheels and I find it gives you a little bit more room with with building especially if you want to build a sizeable engine so Frances passion double wishbone will go multi-link for the rear you can set the quality and all that for those it doesn't really matter too much it's more if you're just gonna play automation then you use that sort of thing quality and all of these settings will mess with like engineering time and all of that but yeah so you can go in line engine a three four five six I actually built a really nice Classic Mini with a three cylinder one two five zero engine and that thing's quick I mean it's really really quick it's such a fun little thing to drive and I think what we're gonna do is I don't know V 90 or 60 mm this is 16 maybe although this is quite a wide car so that'll fit quite nicely maybe let's do a 90 degree v8 you can also do up to v12 which is pretty cool but I think for this will go v8 yeah it's cool so we're just gonna do you can choose cast iron aluminium LC magnesium whatever you want I'm just gonna go aluminum or aluminium and so there's your engine capacity so this will increase the physical size of the engine and the bore so the way I understand it that gives you more torque and then this makes the block longer or the stroke longer so with longer strokes you gain higher rpm if I've got that right so we don't necessarily want really higher rpm in this but I think we want quite a sizable engine so let's go something like seven point two liter maybe so there's the the full space of the engine bay so again with the base game itself the higher that is the higher you're servicing costs and all that'll be so but we don't have to worry about that too much I'm thinking seven point two liters something like that although there might be a little bit big every should just go something like a seven liter I mean that's huge that's a big v8 engine obviously for for this wheel we're gonna do something a bit stupid with engine unnecessary power but yeah that's that's what we're here for right so we're gonna do that you can do push rod and overhead can do overhead can direct acting so we'll go double overhead cam and five valves per cylinder and we're gonna make aluminum and variable a v VL actually don't know what that is huh I don't know I thought that was variable valve timing but that's that's not what it is so yeah seven litre v8 and yeah that's that's a beast of an engine right so we'll carry on with that so the crank here I'm gonna spin a bit of a bit of extra well not money because we don't actually have money but in in reality it would be more money we're gonna go bullet steel lightweight titanium con rods Pistons lightweight forged and we're gonna increase the quality all the way up we actually want to do that here as well no that's fine okay so that's what we're gonna do there then here we go variable valve timing we're going to do that for all cams they can profile and compression everything will mess about with a little bit later after the ancients actually properly built so obviously we're going to do turbo charges and we're gonna do twin turbo charges will go all bearing and this we can mess about with a little bit later you'll see that increases the size while the full as well for all of this will mess about with it a little bit later on as well but we can do and gonna click race and that'll sort of set everything up for us and also the intercooler size and all of that sort of things so yeah I'm actually not sure if this is the intercooler or the radiator better if we adjust that they the size changes here does it doesn't so maybe there's a radiator and this is the intercooler which doesn't actually show up that's fine so yeah we'll come back and play with this a little bit later on to sort of tune everything in will go injection direct injection / Celinda and intake we'll do a race intake so that's going to look amazing fuel type ultimate there we go so everything's joined up now air box and all of that and there is our shiny big turbos you can actually change the size of the turbos and everything as well and here's you'll feel make sure in ignition timing everything like that but we're again will mix mess around with that shortly so exhaust we're gonna go deal exhaust no valves no Catholic convert to no muffler and a muffler there we go and we don't want that right now and we're gonna make the pipes huge again we'll play with that a little bit later on so we are sort of on the max of what we can do with this engine let's see if it actually runs [Music] so it's limited on 6,000 rpm I hope that's not too loud so that's doing alright we've got nine hundred and forty-one Newton meters of torque and 571 kilowatts I think you can change that to horsepower let's actually have a look at it I would prefer horsepower myself a game measurements mm-hmm okay so we can't do that right now that's that's all right and yeah so 571 but I think we can get more out of this engine so let's go back to the bottom end okay here we can't really change anything top end right so now we're gonna need this screen so we're gonna start messing about with this and see how much we can pull out of this engine let's see if we go down close to a thousand Newton meters and then it drops so that's sort of our peak somewhere around there mmm there we go so 975 is the peak and 592 kilowatts can profile this we should be able to increase quite a bit it's gonna idle quite rough but that's fine thousand 83 84 so that sort of peaked still gang up a little bit okay I think that's there was a peak right there and 89 newton meters and 661 kilowatts so we're getting there right intercooler okay so if we increase that it just goes down so let's see if we go further down if we can get anything out of it doesn't look like it nine there's a thousand okay so that's about at maximum and 61 compression and a compressor so that's actually the physical size of the turbo compressor so if we make that a little bit smaller power is actually going up up to a point so there was max and turbine same thing thousand 86 there here we go 624 kilowatt so that's sort of peak on the talk with this type of vehicle I think talk is probably the most important thing rather than kilowatt because we're not really going for maximum speed here we just want a hell of a lot of power thousand 100 I mean it's not gonna be slowed by any means so let's play with that ratio I think thousand and seventy eight well say okay so that gives us a thousand and seventy eight Newton meters six hundred and fifty five kilowatts if we do that we get a little bit more talk and kilowatts thousand one hundred and five five six seventy one okay so that's about where we want it okay boost thousand and nineties we actually want a little bit less boost I think that was actually quite close to what it can do yeah here we go okay so that's at max all of this fuel mixture right so here we can push out quite a bit of power 1090 think was sort of the peak there yeah thousand and ninety-two so we'll leave that there ignition timing is probably gonna be all the way forward a great a thousand and forty nine I think that's as a thousand two hundred forty nine sorry I think that's about the way we can get it will push the RPM limits up till things go rate so this goes 7,500 rpm for anything starts breaking so we're not going to worry about the the warnings too much because from what I found in Bemidji it doesn't really matter even if this is sort of in the red as long as the engines running that's fine but we don't want to don't want to push it too far right okay so we are on 774 Newton meters and 560 kilowatts why that sounds low yeah that's because it is low thousand Oh 59 thousand two hundred and eighteen 2259 so think that is about our peak after there starts dropping so 6600 rpm so that's that's where we need to be 858 kilowatt 2259 Newton meters of torque so let's play around with the exhaust and see if this is gonna make any difference no not really just gonna make it slower so we'll keep the exhaust at maximum diameter so that is our engine then so we'll just run this you can hear the rough idle there sounds good and here you can see on the graph how the power is sort of laid up that intercooler is not happy so let's see if we go into cooler if we increase this a little bit no one two five nine I'm just going to increase this all the way and see one two five nine okay so that's a peak that's fine so we'll leave at this so we're gonna carry on into the next stage where it's actually the core so do we go to door or five door I kind of like the look of the five door we'll make it a bit of like a sleeper thing and the cool thing here is you can sort of drag things out and do whatever you want with them like the windows and all of that sort of things I'll keep that there we can make a longer or shorter we will keep it a little bit short even wheel arches and things like that you can sort of drag them out and let's give it a bit of flare there and yeah so but we're just gonna leave the base shape like that here you can paint everything that you want to paint but we're not going to do painting right now right here so we're gonna go headlights and so your god you can get all of this in the workshop as well more variants I don't really have much past the sort of base so here I think sort of just square lights or something it's probably not going to look fantastic but it's not really the purpose of why we are here so I'm just gonna do something quick and make it look like a go actually that looks said I'm not gonna do that at least wanted to look hotties and see that's more sports call style maybe something like that I don't know that's gonna work but I think it looks a little bit better I'm not great with with all of this designing the cause and and all of that if I spend a lot of time I can come up with a couple of good things here and there but generally not not my strong point maybe we should just do something simple here like let make it a little bit longer here we go well that's fine right okay indicators will put so I'm indicates it's down there make it a little bit smaller because mirroring here is on it'll do the same on the other side right okay next thing would be grill I think just sort of like a square-shape grill grills and all of this is fairly important because of airflow the game actually takes that into account it's a terrible grill but that's fine and we'll do something down here as well to try and keep everything cool that's not a good-looking car but that's fine well I'm for what we're doing yeah so we'll leave that day and then we'll Vince we can always D to help because it's such a powerful engine we can do sort of like a scoop thing on but blonde out here that'll help a little bit with the engine performance and keeping everything cool we can always do Vince as well maybe do like a side vent over there and move that down a little bit maybe make it a little bit bigger than that there we go something like that everything helps scoob's let's maybe do something will turn mirror on and drag that over there do something like that just to make sure air flow is not a problem and so yeah here you can play around quite a bit and enjoy yourself and you can actually spend a hell of a lot of time doing up cars and making them the way you want them and so we'll put a fuel filler cap in there and then we'll need door handles we'll just go for standard type door handles maybe there and there then we will need mirrors and what would a Range Rover have something like that maybe something like that man that's tiny area so we'll just make that a bit bigger it's probably big enough that's fine there we go so starting to look like a car now it's got door handles and all of that sort of thing over here we can put a badge on let's do hmmm maybe like an owl type thing let's put that there that's our badge and we can always do something like a turbo or a sport or something like that maybe let's do you actually know what will be what is this a v8 and twin turbo so let's go yeah and get V the V and then back hey where's numbers numbers numbers numbers I know there's numbers somewhere around here and said maybe here so will they be eight let's grab that I don't know if is all the same looks a little bit thicker so yeah that sort of looks something like that and make that a bit smaller so we'll go b8 and then we'll stick a turbo next to it even though it's a twin-turbo but I'm not gonna spell all of that out and just to cap it off we'll put a little sport thing on that side maybe we should stick a base sport now oh there there we go so you can stick these things where you want we'll just do that for now and right we can put a logo in the front as well which one do we go for I think it was an L that one does that work maybe rather stick it News yeah something like that there we go okay fuel cap we've got mirrors we've got we're not gonna put an aerial anything or number plates or anything like that bumper bar we're not going to do a bumper bar will do wheels and I don't have a wide variety of wheel so we'll have to find something that kind of works I don't know it's always difficult finding wheels that actually worked that that works alright we'll do that we can change the size and all of that later on right exhaust will do maybe something like that and we'll put more on will put dual exhaust oh yeah where is it Allu I can say I don't work you on you yeah I don't know what's going on you right this doesn't does for some reason I was working fine yesterday all right well we'll just leave it I think I put an exhaust sort of somewhere in the office there and now it doesn't want to want to work nope okay that's fine we're not gonna mess around with that it does actually work it just doesn't want to work right now so I'm just sort of scared that that exhaust is sitting somewhere where it shouldn't be and it's gonna miss a car when we're driving around or something I don't know right so we're gonna go next we're gonna leave it like that let's go 4x4 will do dual-clutch 7-speed the top speed of as to 350 because this is a powerful engine electric limited-slip turf we can stick the quality up on that I said wheels will do chunky off-road tires width will go all the way up on that because it needs to be beefy offset will do slight offset rim size can do something like that 800 is fine that sort of looks alright and LOA quality all the way up vented discs six Pistons for the front and we'll put a huge disc on that like for 20 millimeter vented and let's do four person at the back and we won't make them quiet that big maybe like 350 actually about 365 370 that's fine pair top will leave babe right buyers with one sort of 60/40 quality of the brakes pull all of that up under tray will do offer its get tray cooling flaps cooling here will do about 60 brake cooling 20 is fine and seats three in the back two right okay so interior will do luxury not handmade will do premium infotainment otherwise it just adds a hell of a lot of weight power steering wheel the electric variable ESC and LC or you can do traction control and abs either way whichever you want to do we'll go advanced mm advanced 2010 s4 safety right springs we're gonna do active comfort or active sport mmm since it's a sport model let's do active sport semi active and we don't want that we'll set it up maybe for utility off-road not utility I think that'll work you can adjust the ride height and everything here customize everything you want but we're not gonna mess around with that so yeah there we go so all of that is done it tells you exactly what's going on all of your things so what it is you go here export real click yeah just export so you're going to have a bit of a loading screen this takes a little bit to do we're going to call this v8 range server and then you click the little button down here exports so it's going to tell you that it's exporting engine sounds and it'll say finalizing the export and as soon as this goes green it'll tell you that the car should be available in beamng Drive there we go car should now appear in beamng drive so yeah it's a very good system so we'll go back you this car there we go so I'm just gonna hit save and yep so I'll be there's the course I'll be back in a second I'm just gonna swap the game and next time you see me we'll be in beamng right okay so we are back this is actually a truck that I bolt it's sort of like an offer a truck that's why it doesn't have any doors or anything like that this are built in Bemidji not in automation cut a nice little truck for off-roading all right so what you do just hit escape so I just sort of spawn into whichever environment you want to on the highway so then you go manage and select and then your course should show up here so there's the mini that I built and there's a hatchback that thing as quick as anything v12 6.5 liters sports car a v12 twin turbo pickup truck and here is the Range Rover that we just both so we click on that and say replace current or spawn new if you want to spawn in and new a new car and leave the current one in place so this will take just a few seconds and that should spawn in there we go is that something sounds broken on it but that's fine here we go so I'm driving this with a keyboard here's your like differentials and a high range low range traction control will switch that off so we'll go drive I just want to get through their toll system and then we'll give it a whirl and see what it does right so I'm gonna stick that into neutral we all have a side-on look and see this thing are just [Applause] that's quick so on a hundred and eighty kilometers now that is 200 yeah this is a fast fast car - 60 - 70 - 80 come on - 90 - 90 here we go okay we need to hit the brakes all crap we're not gonna make this cornet yeah I can we rate the costs I yeah that's broken that's that's very broken but yeah so that's that's pretty cool I like that as I put it into like sport mode and whatever it's yeah it's quite a cool car to drive but yeah so I mean you can mess around with everything in one down here the only thing that I did notice about that about this is the crash model is not quite as good as posit all sort of natively in the game I'll try and show you here so you're not too much destruction going on this try and cause a bit more damage we'll run into this [Music] this thing is quickly there we go so I mean it's not bad but it's it's not quite the way it'll normally work let me show you here on something like let's just go with a pickup truck replace current just to show you the sort of difference I mean there's still all of the yeah I'm gonna wreck the gearbox here let's switch that to arcade gearbox so it'll switch by itself I don't have my steering wheel or anything setup at the moment so yeah let's run into a berry or something and you'll see the difference in and obviously with this you can see through the windows as well okay that didn't go well but you can sort of see the destruction it looks a bit more but more realistic [Music] where I mean all of the crumpling and everything and it just looks better so that that is one thing to take into account if you're gonna use automation to build cause I mean it's so much fun to do it and the possibilities are basically endless but just take into account that it doesn't really work that well when it comes to I mean that you know that looks proper but yeah it's it's still a hell of a lot of fun so yeah and I actually enjoyed this too making this video it's been a very long video but that's fine as long as
