How To Build a Basement Walkout/ How To Lay Heavy Blocks, DIY

so we have these blocks and uh we normally call them the female blocks the reason why we call them the female blocks because they have a little punani in the middle here hey guys welcome back to the channel how you all doing in today's video i'm gonna walk you through the process of how to make a basement walk out from start to finish as you see here they already did the excavation they already cut out the footing but don't worry i'm going to explain to you guys what you need to do in order to get where we are right now and what you need to do in order to finish the entire process i'm going to walk you through the process of how deep you need today how wide you need to cast your foot in all the process that you need to know in order to do this yourself i'm going to walk you through the process as well of how to lay your blocks we have here today some 10 inches blocked this is like 35 pound every block we're gonna lay all these blocks in here i'm gonna walk you through the process of how to do this yourself with no further ado let's dive right into the video but before we jump into the video go ahead and give it a thumbs up and subscribe if you haven't already subscribe for more comment video like this one let's get started okay guys the first thing we got to do we're going to clean up our surface see dirt is all over later on oh man guys i'll show you where i'm at okay guys i'm gonna walk you through the process of what done here so far um so let me explain to you guys what you need to do in order to get where we are right now okay so so i'll just see they dig from here go all the way down you want to dig from the top go all the way down to the bottom of the existing footing for instance this is the basement black wall you want to go right down where the the footing start and according to your drawing work with your drawing there and this drawing here it called for um you have to dig two feet deep if you're going with a double foam this is the foam that we use in the bottom it's a two inches foam you have to put two inches um you have to put two layer foam one on one here and one more here so it's going to be one form here and one form over here right around the perimeter of the entire thing but write our own like that you have to put two foam on the outside to form on the inside like so one form here one from here run right around then using the form you have to dig four feet down um to reach the first level that way you don't have to use the foam but um like i said that's um what this drawing calls for so um if that's something you're planning to do yourself you could just put the phone like i said on the outside there to form over there right around go right our own and you're going to dig two feet deep and um put your rebar you want to put some rebar beneath six inches rebar hunker it up word that i'm gonna dwell some rebar in here because um they didn't put it here yeah that's that's pretty much it and for your drainage this is your drainage here you want to connect your drainage i just see they connect it right in where the door is gonna be the door gonna be right here later on we're gonna cut the door open right here and run our chain from here go right into the inside and then we're gonna make up we're gonna put a elbow bring it right over to the end of the wall over there i'm gonna dig a hole a big round hole like so i'm gonna put a sub pump right here and put the a piece of pipe run right back on the outside so once the water gets in here and it fill up the soap pump it's gonna pump out and and go right outside of the hose so that's basically but keep on watching i'll explain as we go but um that's basically what you do you know if you're doing something like this okay okay guys so i'll make it from the wall we're probably on our wall over here we'll measure our four feet this way now we're just gonna square all from this direction continue on once you screw that one we're gonna just put our level like that put a little square right here line this one up and then we're just going to mark that's where it's c square okay so now i need to take nine and a half inches over so our first block gonna be we're just gonna we're gonna catch our bun our block is 15 inches and a half right there quarter inches joint another 15 and a half and we're just gonna keep on repeat the same thing as we go right out there just something like that that's my square surprise obviously here i bought my um my foot in i have my block mark there right around so i i like to do this so that i know exactly as you see you can see my black mask those are where my blocks gonna be we're just gonna go right up on our wall the space on the inside gonna be four feet okay guys so as you see here we have our rebar in place i drill that down that's my mark right there that's where we're coming with our wall right up [Music] you guys we want to dump one here before we start layer blocks [Music] okay let the phone be gone we put on our first block now make sure i put it down so that we can see the line this uh this food in here they're gonna they're gonna pour um they're gonna report this is just a temporary pour we need to just go in a little bit more like so [Music] now we're just gonna level her make sure you know i like to do this [Music] make sure she's nice and plump going to put a lever like this it's going to be perfect from just like that we need to shake armada to get the gravity always check to see the rough on the smooth side the rougher side is what you want to always turn down i'm just going to turn my rough side down like so this footing is not it's not level so what i'm doing i'm trying to go the first close a bit higher than um that way if i'm bumping people far into any bumps don't do not gonna be a problem for us i'm just gonna raise that one up a little bit more [Music] okay so we level like so now we're gonna put our sphere make sure we're nice and square in here i'm just gonna turn this part down doing it first guys you want to take your time get it right no rush [Music] perfect my friend we're getting there [Music] slowly but shortly so we have these blocks and uh we normally call them the female blocks the reason why we call them they're female blocks because they have a little banana in the middle here this is a split just like a punani so the way we want to open this female block into a half we're gonna cut it open by top right around in the split here like so boom that's it so now let's put her in two this should be now finish this section here should be something looking like this now we're gonna just put one more block there and then we're gonna screw our corner just to make sure it's a hundred percent square but it's it's already square well let's put one more block so we can extend our square a little bit further make sure you wet your foundation before you put your block there yeah i already did mine [Music] got this we'll close the top [Music] okay guys they're calling her in so i'm gonna put the camera away hopefully stop so i can we can keep going okay so i'm just gonna put my square here make sure she's nice and square okay guys
