How To Build a 1000 HP Camaro ZL1 1LE! // THE EXORCIST by HENNESSEY

[Music] [Music] hey guys welcome back to hennessy performance i'm jerry delaportis i'm the lead technician here at hennessey performance today i want to share with you a little bit about our exorcist build we have turned out over 50 of these cars i've personally built 20 myself so the exorcist package is a really well-designed package it's been ironed out for a long time now we've got it all figured out in this particular case this customer has requested a different brand supercharger which is good we are adapting to that customer's needs we're excited to see how it fits how it works how it drives how we tune it and see obviously the horsepower result we're down to the short block here we're going to do a cam swap on it we're going to get our ported cylinder heads on there with all our upgraded valve train parts upgraded lifters push rods we're going to top it off with a 2650 blower kit wall wall it is going to have our built 10-speed transmission auxiliary fuel system long tube headers and then we will go back into tuning and get it on the dyno and start to make some power numbers we're going to share with you this process as it goes together and just stay tuned [Music] when you cam swap something you're changing up the valve events you can increase lift duration lobe separation and all our cams are custom spec'd so that they are the best fit for what we're doing our boost levels this cam is brand new out of the box why am i cleaning it i'm cleaning it because i want it to be dirt debris and oil free and then i'll put assembly lube on it i'll lay this bad boy down like this and be very generous just like ketchup on a hot dog so this thing is nice and lubed up and it's about ready to go in i got some on the floor [Music] oh there we are [Music] we actually get the heads ported and polished on the intake and the exhaust side open up the ports as much as we can all new valves new valves train hardware as far as springs retainers keepers the head is also decked make sure it's 100 flat and then it just goes through its cleaning process and then the chambers are also ported out too it's just a smoother route down into the valve and then also around the valve into the combustion chamber and then also smoother all in there as well so it helps make horsepower [Music] built transmission has gone in and basically that's just the transmission that's been upgraded internally it's stronger it'll hold more power we've got the rest of our fuel system put together on the high side the high pressure fuel system i've installed the headers or engine 78 stainless steel headers those are going to help with scavenging effect and getting the exhaust gases out of the exhaust system faster and more efficiently help with power sound obviously and then i've put the upgraded valve train together now we can go ahead and drop the blower on the blower here is a 265 liter blower big upgrade over the 1.7 liter blower it's obviously bigger it doesn't have to spin as hard to make more power also it has bigger intercooler bricks so it'll stay cooler for longer i'm going to drop this on there and get it bolted down and start to install the intercooler bricks and plumb the rest of the water system [Music] uh [Music] [Music] everything still runs like it should from the factory i have my heated seat or my cooled seat on right now we're on pump gas the customer requested a very specific supercharger normally use a 2 9 liter and on this particular car we use the 265 one of the things that i notice about this supercharger is that we can make back-to-back pulls without getting super heat so i'm going to stab the gas and we're going to get going here and see how this thing performs sport mode nothing special ac's on all right a big improvement over stock for sure i mean this car just hauls so so far we're really happy with this with the way that this one turned out we're happy with all them but just this one obviously we changed the sauce a little bit changed the recipe and we think the customer's going to be really happy i think it'll be totally worth it our custom calibration in these things is not just load and go each one of our cars spends however long it needs to spend on the dyno it gets tuned for wide open throttle gets fully dialed in there and then it's not done then it comes out to the track and the calibrators are out here driving these things around the track stop and go cold start hot start dialing every little thing in to make everything perfect so that this car literally runs just like it would when you picked it up at the dealer no hiccups no sputtering no popping no erratic idle i mean they're just dialed in perfect so our calibrators are some of the best in the business and they really know what they're doing and they take the time and they care just like i do when i build the car make sure it's mechanically sound and strong safe same mile an hour 148 there you guys just saw right there that's three pulls back to back 30 miles an hour to about 148 maybe 150 that's just in that small stretch at the back of our track before i got to get on the brakes real hard go to the gas pump put 93 octane in it if you are in california and you need a 91 octane tune that's fine too we can accommodate that and this car is a california car it's hard to believe it's got a two-year 24 000 mile warranty i mean that's just crazy 1000 horsepower with a warranty and not a taillight warranty this is two year warranty so we stand behind our product we're confident in them we have a lot of these cars out on the road people thrash them all the time we get emails from the people that get them back they love them they take them to car shows they're head turners you know they come with the graphics and the badging and everything that makes it an exorcist not just the power but you know all the kind of little things around it that make the hennessy vehicle 88 degrees outside right now
