that we have for training and now we want to get into our study of the book of john the upper room discourse of the book of john and we're going to as i said last week there's no way that we're going to try to go through the whole discourse with every verse from chapter 13 31 through chapter 16 33 but we are going to look at those verses that i felt like the holy spirit showed me that deals with insights into how to have a greater influence and see more happen as we minister in the power of the spirit so uh last week we talked about the connection between god's spirit we talked about how the father receives glory through the works that are done in jesus name the father receives glory and as a motivating factor for wanting to be able to do things in the name of jesus these works brings glory to the father and so now we want to focus tonight on two things number one intimacy and revelation they are related the intimacy and receiving revelation from god some people don't like to use the rare use the word revelation uh because we don't we're not saying it's on the same level as the scripture at all all revelation personal revelation all insight has got to come under the scripture itself but we're talking about revelation that actually helps us we believe and some people say well that's inspiration but i think it can be both and and it's but it's never equal to the scripture it's always under the scripture and so we must try to make sure that we're hearing and but sometimes he did it not sometimes but he says the holy spirit will teach you things and will reveal things to us and even as we look to the word sometimes he who wrote the word of the holy spirit through the the biblical writers also was very helpful in and interpreting the word as well so we want to look at intimacy and revelation and how they're related and also the connection between intimacy intimacy and fruit and this is really like a building like a a chain connection this is connected to this intimacy is connected to revelation and revelation is connected to faith that recalls us fruit through the works of god so let's start with the first one intimacy and revelation are related so we're going to look at this passage of scripture let's quote it and i'm going to read it if you love me you will obey what i command that's john 15 15. and i will ask the father and he will give you another counselor many translations say comforter some say helper the same word is translated advocate but in this case in this situation it's not the advocate role probably is the more of the comforter robe and and to be with you forever he said and i will give you another counselor conference the word parakletos is literally in greek means the one who's called to your side to help you in your time of need so if you need power he's you're in power if you need comfort he's your comfort if you need counsel he's your counselor if you need an advocate he's your advocate so it's a change that's why one word can't can't properly translate all that's meant in the greek word parakletos but jesus said and he and he the father will give you another counselor to be with you forever the spirit of truth the world cannot accept him because it neither sees him nor knows him but you know him for he lives with you and will be in you i will not leave you as orphans i will come to you before long the world will not see me anymore but you will see me because i live you also will live on that day you will realize that i am in my father and you are in me and i am in you whoever has my commands and obeys them he is the one who loves me he who loves me will be loved by my father and i too will love him and show myself to him then judas not judas iscariot said but lord why do you intend to show yourself to us and not to the world jesus replied if anyone loves me he will obey my teaching my father will love him and we will come to him and make our home with him man that's a amazing passage of scripture and there's just a few things i want to uh look at uh as we look at that scripture john that was john chapter 15 or chapter 13. uh reading verse 15 uh through 20 and then john chapter 14 22 through 23. first he says the spirit of truth that's going to come is the spirit of the counsel of the comforter and he will be with us forever this is going to happen at pentecost and he says the world cannot accept him because it neither sees him nor knows him but you know him for he lives with you and will be in you there's the unity within the trinity the holy spirit and the father are with jesus in jesus when they come to jesus upon jesus this is a mystery of the trinity jesus is in the father the fathers in him and he says this this one is going to come he already is living with them and i believe that jesus is speaking about the spirit of god in him is with them but he says that this spirit this comforter this counselor the parakletos will be in the future tense in you jesus knows in the midst of this they are distraught because he's told them he's going to be leaving and going to the father so he tries to comfort him by telling them he's not going to leave him as orphans he says i will come to you excuse me now the i will come to you how's he going to do that i think there's a double meaning in this i will come to you first of all he does come to them but he says that the counselor the another counselor will be with you forever and he's speaking about another counselor and then he says i'm going to come to you and so this other counselor and i wish i had um two things that are different uh do we have two bottles of water over there that it look exactly like so there's two words in greek for another where in english we only have one one of the two words is a word for another that means here's one and here's another well they're different and that's the meaning of that word it's not the same there's difference between the the two and then there's another greek word and this greek word means another that is identical just like the one and that's the word that john or jesus uses that john has recorded for us when he talks about uh and i and and he the father will give you another counselor percolators to be with you forever now that's why i believe thank you that's why i believe that when he's speaking here he's speaking of the holy spirit and then he jesus says you know him for he lives with you and will be in you is still speaking of the holy spirit and then in verse 18 i will not leave you as orphans and i think that's because the other one just like me he said jesus is saying i'm just like the father and the holy spirit is just like me because of the unity within the trinity there's one god in three persons and if you experience one you experience the other two and and he said but the holy spirit will come will be in you and then he says i will not leave you as orphans i will come to you now i believe in that moment he's referring to when he would come to them in his resurrected body and he says before long the world will not see me anymore but you will see me again i believe in that moment he's talking about you're going to see me again not very long and you will see me he's going to appear to them you know he told them i'm going to come to you you're going to see me again but but when he appeared to them after the resurrection and it just appeared it freaked him out it scared him he had to say peace it's me don't be afraid and he says before long the world will not seem anymore in verse 19 but you will see me and because i live you also will live now that verse is encouraging because he's not just talking about life living normal he's talking about eternal life he's talking about a life that never ends he's talking about the hope they have in christ though you die yet shall you live and you shall never die is what he had said to martha and mary at uh the well before he had raised lazarus from the dead and it says in verse 20 on that day you will realize that i am in my father and this is the new thing that's they've never heard i think this is the first time they ever heard this he's not that i am in my father but the next and you are in me and i am in you now these tenses are speaking in the present of a future reality but in greek there's this tense and it's called an eternal present it's literally saying this is an eternal truth and so it's it's used in this way then in verse 21 this is the key that i wanted to focus on tonight whoever has my commands and obeys them he's the one who loves me i i want us to understand in this day of in my opinion an over emphasis or a perversion of the understanding of grace to what i would call sloppy grace hyper grace this understanding that if you really believe in grace just do anything you want if you believe in in grace it really doesn't make any difference and any attempt to try uh to live a consecrated dedicated holy life unto god any attempt to avoid the sin and to uh live in the power of the spirit gets categorized by some of the teachers as that's legalism i totally think that's wrong i i believe that this understanding of grace and great grace is grace is not only the undeserved forgiveness of god and not only the ability to be reckoned righteous not only this imputed righteousness that says i i i don't see your sin all i see is the perfection of jesus on you is to believe that grace is more than that because if sin is bad because god who made us understands that it actually hurts us then if we continue in a in a place oh i'm in grace but continue to be living a sinful lifestyle that sinful lifestyle is hurting us physically relationally emotionally spiritually in many many ways and so this understanding of grace that doesn't take into effect obedience to the commands of jesus the commands of god is a perversion of grace because what this grace is going to do that was talked about and pointed to in the new covenant was i'm going to write my laws on your heart it and and i believe it was they're going to pour out this spirit upon us and we would be able by the grace of god that allows the spirit to come to us while we were yet sinners and convicted and regenerated now lives in us and there is a power the grace is an enabling power the bible says and john actually said jesus was full of grace and truth well if grace is pertaining to the undeserved forgiveness of sin and jesus had no sin then how can he be full of grace so it's more than that it is that and more it's the more it's not the less it's the more i'm talking about and i don't think it takes away from the grace to say that it is important that we attempt desire want to maintain a close relationship with jesus by by not quenching his spirit grieving his spirit and availing ourselves to this grace of god to empower us to live according to his commands because there's promises made in this upper room discourse about the importance of living in accord with his commands of obeying his commands it's not just about grace it's about love jesus repeatedly in this passage will emphasize if you loved me you will obey me and that's not legalism love is concerned to do things that pleases the one we love and to avoid things that would grieve the person we love and if there is something about uh god in us the holy spirit wanting to break make us into who jesus says we already are he wants to not only impute righteousness to us but impart power to live righteously and to become what he says we already are and it's not legalism it's the glory of grace as a power as well as undeserved forgiveness power to become the kind of person god wants us to be and then verse 21 i'm going to read it again whoever has my commands and obeys them he is the one who loves me he continuing that same verse he who loves me will be loved by my father and i too will love him now i want to stop there didn't finish the verse but paul said we love god because he first loved us so god's love wasn't contingent upon our love in him first he loved us while we were yet sinners and christ died for us while we were yet sinners his love precedes ours ours is a response to him and yet he also understands as he said whoever has my commands and obeys him he is the one who loves me he who loves me loves me because he's been born again loves me because he's understood the gospel loves me because he understood i first loved him but then and he goes on to say having come to know him we will obey him because we love him and he or the one who loves me will be loved by my father and this is there's this special relationship of jesus coming to faith and jesus is believing he the father's in him and he's in the father obeying jesus is obeying the father loving jesus when god sees it is like we have come to the father through the son and and it says the very end and i too will love him and show myself to him he who loves me will be loved by my father and i too will love him and show myself to him now this word for show can be translated in different ways in english but it means to reveal i will reveal myself to the one who obeys me because he loves me now that's a great promise i will show myself to him i will reveal myself to him now does that mean that we like the disciples will get to see jesus very few people after the final after the ascension into heaven got to see jesus in a bodily form i mean it's not very common no but it does mean i will in a sense of show since reveal i will reveal myself how does he do it through the holy spirit i will reveal myself i will come to that person that person will know that i've come to them i'm going to make myself known to them and we're talking about the father and the son and the spirit all together in the trinity coming and making themselves known to us by the spirit now the emphasis here and i will show myself to him that's key now judas not as scary said lord why do you intend to show yourself to us and not to the world and jesus replied here it is again if anyone loves me he will obey my teaching and my father will love him and we will come to him and make our home with him the abiding presence of god father son and holy spirit he said we will come to the one who loves jesus and will obey the teaching of jesus and we will love him and will come to that person and make our home with them what a promise intimacy causes us god to come to us and this intimacy is connected to obedience intimacy connected to obedience love connected to obedience has a promise god's going to make himself known to you and that's the key to move start to move into the realm of the supernatural the key to having fruit in your life that proves your disciple of jesus the key to having this good fruit the key is rooted in this passage that we just talked about intimacy brings revelation but intimacy you can't have intimacy and be a rebel a rebel against god you can't have intimacy and just do anything you want it will affect the relationship it will affect the revelation that you receive it will affect what god reveals to you now i want to take the last portion of this teaching and deal with our third insight from the upper room discourse that deals with the healing ministry in the realm of the supernatural ministry and that is and i've already alluded to it intimacy it's a relationship to fruit and how are we to understand the fruit that jesus speaks of here which i want to spend some time on and make clarification for and i i just want to say as we're looking at this teaching tonight i understand that on miracle mondays what focuses on seeing people get healed but on training thursdays i'm trying to give insights and understanding in a way how the gifts of the spirit work how holy spirit reveals things anything that will help us to understand how we can um have more faith and how god creates faith and and so uh i really want to encourage you that as you're getting these teachings that and you meditate on them and and it will cause you i i don't want to do that because i know that's wrong and i i value this relationship i value the intimacy i value the revelation that comes out of my obedience it is in a sign an expression to the father and the son the holy spirit of my love and my reciprocal love that first began because they first loved me and saved me they chose me before i chose them so john 15 we're going to be looking at verses 4 through 8 remain and sometimes it's translated abide the niv says remain remain in me and i will remain in you no branch can bear fruit by itself which is saying i mean using the language of metaphor apart from me you can do nothing you cannot produce the kind of fruit this fruit here is the supernatural works of god apart from me you can bear no fruit or no branch can bear fruit by itself it must remain in the vine neither can you bear fruit unless you remain or abide in me jesus goes ahead in verse 5 i am the vine and you are the branches if any person or man remains in me and i in him he will bear much fruit now i didn't say a little bit of fruit it said much fruit apart from me you can do nothing again which is what i was talking about last week we can do nothing in ourselves in our humanity we can't heal we can't deliver we can't see miracles in our humanity but it is god in us it's the life of god the branch in the vine the life of the vine flowing into the branch the power of god the presence of god and his presence is power are actually synonymous in a sense as the orthodox church teaches when we experience any gift of god we are actually experience the imminent presence of god through the energies of god which are god himself making himself known in his power and in his gifts so unless we are connected and his life his presence is in us we can do nothing but what we do do is his presence and his power working through us as we ex exercise faith that he created by his gracelets his gifts this grace-oriented gift of revelation that he gives his word of knowledge or prophecy reveals what we want to do which creates the gift of faith which releases his power the gifts of healing and the working of miracles this is what we are invited into it doesn't mean that we can do anything we want and it doesn't mean that we can ask for anything we want and i'll talk about that later because if you believe you can ask for anything it'll be done for you we're going to talk about what it means in context it does mean that when he reveals what he wants to do in that sovereignty the moment which is those moments should be much much closer together and it we shouldn't think that the sovereignty of god means that he only wants to heal one person out of a million and we may see four or five healings in our lifetime that view of sovereignty is putting onto god what i believe is much more our lack of expectation or understanding of the character and the ways of god i know i went through 14 years of ministry and seeing five healings and then i began to see occasional healings my expectation was growing my faith was changing in a sense of what i believed not on what i believed for but one i actually believed the scripture taught about healing was changing it was increasing and then i began to see three percent of every everyone we prayed for three percent being healed and then there was a time we saw it we got to it's almost always ten percent in the last uh two years it it got to 20 and there have been some meetings where we saw 40 50 70 and one time when there's 11 000 people there 90 of the people received some type of a healing in their body so there is a an exponential growth that's been occurring in life and the point of that was this god is the same yesterday today and forevermore jesus said if you've seen me you've seen the father for we are one so when we look at jesus we see in his ministry the sovereignty of god how often he wants to heal and i was in a meeting one time where we had already seen almost 50 percent more than i usually saw and the lord said i want to do more than what you think ask me for more according to the measure of your faith pray like abraham did for sodom and gomorrah going 50 40 30 20 10 righteous people except go the other way ask me for more healings in this meeting and in that meeting we went from three percent to much more we went from a normal 25 people getting healed in the course of the whole meeting to a 137 healed even before the ministry team prayed for people and that was the moment that everything changed and i just began to see more people getting healed what changed the sovereignty of god no my understanding of god and his desire to heal yes that's what changed and with it there was an increase now let's go back to our passage of scripture again if anyone does not remain in me verse 6 he is like a branch that is thrown away and withers such branches are picked up thrown into the fire and burned now i know we're dealing with metaphor here but what does this passage mean well it depends on your theology if you are calvinist or reformed and most of the baptist you believed you believe in what the fifth point of calvinism was the eternal um the perseverance of the saints and then that became known as eternal security and then in some circles it became known as once saved always saved and the emphasis was if you had this experience sometime and you're baptized believe you're saved you've got salvation forever but calvin didn't teach that what calvin taught was the evidence of salvation is in the fruit of the life of the believer and one of the main fruits of the life of the believer this read truly regenerated one is they persevere in the faith they persevere in obedience to god they persevere in their love of god and they abide until the end and and so they're faithful unto the end and if someone thought they were saved and but they don't persevere and they fall away from the faith this teaching says they never were in the faith based upon uh john's writing again in first john because they went out from us because they were he said they went out from us because they were not of us and so the fact that you do not persevere to the end because that's the assurance of salvation is perseverance to the saints the true saint perseveres to the end that's calvinism armenianism on the other side jacob arminius and the council of dort tried uh or they were trying to speak to calvinism in a sense of defending it and they they began to question some of the teachings of calvinism and one of them was whether or not that if you the truly regenerate person willness of necessity endure or persevere uh into until the end and so in the armenian from jacob arminius that's where the name comes from it their view would be if you do not remain in the vine and you are a branch that doesn't remain in the vine then you are thrown away and you wither and such branches are picked up and thrown into the fire and burned which means that you may have been in the vine but you didn't remain in the vine and because you didn't remain in the vine you withered and now you are thrown into the fire and burned two different views but be that as it may and which other side you may be on in that understanding of what is these what are these vines that are thrown away we go to the more positive side in verse 7 if you remain in me and my words remain in you ask whatever you wish and it will be given you now i want to talk about it can we ask for anything and get it i don't think that's what jesus is talking about because if we remain in him and his words remain in us his words are going to control what he's taught us his teaching is going to control our understanding of what is permissible to ask for and what would be unrighteous or impermissible we wouldn't we're not allowed to ask for that kind of thing or another way jesus in the same upper room discourse he's he's talking about asking my name you've never asked in my name before now ask in my name and be given to you that word name is not a talisman it's not a you know a magic potion it's not the magic words only in the name of jesus now because we said in the name of jesus the end of our prayer we're going to get it it means in the biblical thinking the name unlike english culture our culture western culture european culture the name characterized the character of the person and so if he's saying ask in my name we would not ask for anything that would be out of character with who jesus was or the father because he represented the father so there are literally limitations here and if we remain in him and his words remain in us it's it's it is two things one this is the logos this is the word of god written down rhema and logos sometimes can be used as synonyms but other times they're they can't be used as synonyms because logos i mean rhema also had the meaning of a freshly spoken word and so there's both understanding what's permissible to us because we have read his words and abide in us and they also give us the promises upon which our we can base our faith but also there are these rhema words that come and if we stay in a place of obedience and intimacy and we hear specifically we not only have the promises of god but we have the special indications of the timing on which we can ask them this is the moment this person is about to be healed and he says this is to my father's glory that you bear much fruit now this is to my father's glory we read earlier last week and we talked about healing was to bring glory to the father that was one of the main purposes of healing to bring glory to the father and here we find it again in uh chapter 15 and verse 8 i think that's 14 14 i think last time if i remember correctly but anyway this is to my father's glory that you bear much fruit if we believe jesus said this is to my father's glory you bear much fruit well does he want his father to be glorified of course he does therefore does he want us to bear much fruit yes why so that the father can be glorified and it says that you bear much fruit next part showing yourselves to be my disciples you know in early calvinism there and the puritans particularly there was this understanding that you don't real the way you understand whether or not you are in the elect is by the fruit of your life if there is no fruit then you have no assurance that you're among the elect and and so showing yourselves or revealing that you are to be my disciples showing yourselves not to to be my disciples not a future test but that you are my disciples it's revealed because you have this fruit that he's speaking of here and this fruit is it's very important to understand this fruit is not the fruit that paul spoke of in galatians chapter 5 which were fruits or the fruit that dealt with character i call it the fruit of being b-e-i-n-g so it deals with character and our being and that fruit is love joy peace patience kindness goodness faithfulness gentleness and self-control against which there is no law that's a fruit of character of being and it is very important that all christians desire because this fruit is called the fruit of the spirit just as the fruit that jesus speaks of here in john 15 and 16 and is the fruit of doing and is distinguished from the fruit of being not in the sense distinguished in the sense that they're not the same thing there is the fruit of being galatians 5 and paul wrote about and the fruit of doing that jesus spoke on in john in the upper room discourse now they are not contradictory to each other it's not that one is uh the right one to want some people say well we're we don't we don't we're not after god's hand we don't really care about this the work stuff the doing ability to do stuff we're after his face we want to we we we want to seek him not not his hand he's get we seek his faith but that doesn't make sense because in the ex when god comes to us he just doesn't come with his character he comes with his power you can't have his face and not his hand you can't have his hand and not his face this is a false choice that some of the church has tried to present to us it is a both and not an either or we want to live and reflect jesus and look like the father which involves the fruit of character but if we really want to look like jesus i said that wrong but if we also want to look like jesus and the father in another way it will also be by the doing the fruit of doing now this is very important when you just look at it again he says apart from me you can do nothing and all the way through this upper room discourse or this verb do is doing does do these are all talking about this fruit of healing and deliverance and doing other acts of god in the power of god by faith that even he is the source of now in chapter 15 verse 8 this is to my father's glory that you bear much fruit showing yourself to be my disciples is parallel to chapter 14 verse 13 and i will do whatever you ask in my name so that the son may bring glory to the father i realize my quote while ago was wrong in in the 14th chapter it's verse 13. now jesus is speaking in john 15 as i've been saying of the fruit of doing or the fruit of supernatural signs healings deliverances and miracles not the fruit he's not not they are not a contradiction but this is just his focus is on what you're going to do here rather than what you're going to be that's not what he's referencing in this in this passage that we find in galatians chapter 5 both types of fruit are important to best represent or represent jesus to the world and to bring glory to god but jesus in the upper room discourse focuses on the fruit of doing more because of its ability to bring greater glory to the father now living with the fruit of the spirit does bring some measure of glory to the father but there are people who are very good people who are not christian and there are some christians whose character and being doesn't bring that much glory to the father they're very immature they're babes in christ but when we do something whether we're the most mature or a newborn babe in christ who's that moving in a gift of god when we do something that's impossible to do in ourselves but is only possible by his power that brings a greater glory to the father and jesus was all about wanting to bring glory to the father and i pray that you will experience more of his power flowing through you as you abide in him as you love him as you obey him and as he does what he promised to do he and the father comes to us abides with us lives in us and speaks words as jesus started out the words were not mine but they were from the father and he moves from the words to the work that the father had done and may the son and the father by the spirit speak words to us to our spirit into our mind our intellect and reveal what they want to do creating the gift of faith in which then we come in alignment and because as paul said in second corinthians 4 13 quoting david as it is written we believed therefore we have spoken and then paul moves past quoting david and says that says this and in that same spirit of faith we too believe and therefore we speak may god give you the courage to speak what you believe he's revealing to you that he wants to do that you can know as you step out in faith and see him work that you did hear from the father and the son by the spirit let me pray for you father in the name of jesus i pray before we start taking these questions god i pray that you would just activate this anointing and people would hear better god i pray that you'd give us a sense of grace that will has the power to give us victory in our life and that there would be this love for you and the son that says i value this intimacy with god and the revelation that comes out of it and the works that since produced by it more than the enticement of that sin in jesus name amen so casey do we have any questions tonight yes yes we do the first question we have is it asks isn't obedience a form of legalism no obedience i mean it can be and it can be if you're like under the law and say i've got to obey these things to be accepted on the other hand if you realize i have been accepted i don't have to do them to get acceptance but i do them because he first loved me and he has given me eternal life i didn't deserve it he's changed my life out of my love for the one who first loved me out of my newfound freedom to be able to live differently i want as i come into more and more understanding i want to be more and more yielded to that grace that more and more gives me power to live in freedom from sin and for the holy one of god jesus it's not a legalism it's a lifestyle of love what else that's really good second question asks jesus coming to the disciples is that his resurrection appearance or was he speaking of pentecost i believe in the context it was his resurrection appearance but i believe is also true and often there's double meanings in some of the sayings of jesus that i'm coming to you soon resurrection but when he's talking about if you obey me and if you love me and you obey me the father and i we're going to love you and we're going to come and make our abode with you and abide with you that coming is in the holy spirit that is was following the day of pentecost what else third question is can you explain more thoroughly in chapter 15 verse 20 with jesus mean chapter 15 verse 20 i have to look and see uh i i believe and i think this is right on that day you will realize that i am in the father and you are in me and i am in you that's that's really an interesting verse and i think there's a mystery in that verse i i think he's speaking of the way the the three personalities of the within the one god of the trinity we've been invited into that parakarisis we've been invited into that holy dance and they're now making room for us because just as the father was in the sun and the sun was in the father and by the spirit so now we have been incorporated into christ christ is in us and we are in god and so it is literally helping us to understand we've been invited into the very life of god any more next question um question number four are the commands that jesus speaks about in verse 21 are they the ten commandments or is jesus referring to something else i do not believe they refer to the ten commandments now are we to obey the ten commandments of course failure to obey them invites just destruction and problems and you know it god made us he knows it's like this is the uh the owner's manual that's given us the the maker of this uh whatever it is knows what you need to do to take care of it for it to last the longest and perform the best and in the same way god understood the law was like a fence around us that protected us from behavior that would be self-destructive or mutually destructive and so of course jesus said i didn't come to destroy the law but to fulfill the law he went beyond the law beyond a you know committing adultery to having lust in your heart to committing adultery in a sense so and in doing so he was saying is not he wasn't referring to those commandments in a sense because he didn't use the word commandment in this sense he used the word command if you love me you will obey what i command and the the one the commandment one of the commands uh that he had just spoken of in his passage and does so repetitively is love one another a new command i give you one another now we also have his commands in in a sense of the commission's goal and make disciples of all nations and baptize the name of the father son holy spirit and teaching them to observe all things what's where i've commanded you and and uh and he said and and lo i'm with you even to the end of the age so um in the commissions they are commands of god as well and uh um so i i think it doesn't mean we're not to obey the ten commandments but that's not what he's speaking of specifically in this occasion which is really a concern because this command and this new command i give you love one another uh that's that's this doesn't mean in this situation i mean we're even to love our enemies but there's this special love we're supposed to have for every believer in the body of christ and as a father one of the things that as a father i really did not like i had four kids they're all adults now and they have most of them have three of the four have their own kids now i never like to grieve my heart when they spoke ill of each other when they put each other down or accused each other or or you know just spoke bad to each other just grieve my heart and i loved it when they laughed together and they played together they loved on each other i loved it as a father and i think the prayer of jesus in john 17 they would be one is and they would love each other even with the love that the father and son has for each other is so much on god's heart and i believe that we should never allow truth to slay love we should embr embrace jesus full of grace and truth he is also john talks about god is love and especially and he says they will know you are my disciples by how you love one another and he also said you'll prove you're my disciples by what what we would be able to do this fruit that we would have so one of them the first fruit in paul's fruit of being is love and paul would say love is the greatest of all these and it's really interesting he'll also talk about the power about faith faith expressing itself through love um so what else yeah the photo question asks what does it mean when jesus says he will show himself to whoever obeys him and loves him i believe when he talks about showing himself there to whoever believes and loves him was going past the resurrection appearance that to the 2 11 because judas had already left here there's only 11 of them that got to hear this discourse but he's saying that those whoever who loves him that he he would show himself reveal himself and i believe jesus when we you know when we experience god coming to us by holy spirit we need to understand jesus and the father the father is in jesus the spirit is a way that that is in in both and by the receiving the holy spirit jesus said the father and i are going to come to you he's with you and since jesus i'm the i'm your comforter right now i'm with you but i'm going to be in you and i'm going to be in you because the holy spirit's going to come in you that's what i believe it means is that it that's all we have all right well in our
