so to make something fly or float in stop-motion animation you need to take a clean picture of your environment to begin with and then you are going to make your object fly by using rig so you're going to lift it up with something this could be wire it could be in my case white tack and i'm now going to show you how to do this in the stop motion studio pro app so the first step is to take that clean picture of your environment or your set wherever your animation is taking place and then we're going to raise our object up in my case a bunny and this bunny is literally just going to rise up on the spot my method of doing this is to simply use white tack it's just something that i had there and i'm gonna raise up a little bit at a time so that the bunny comes up in the air and then falls back down i've stuck my phone down to the table with white tech as well to try and keep it steady i didn't have any way of remotely taking the pictures you shouldn't really go in there and tap your phone like i am because you do still get a bit of wobble and it ruins the illusion so if you can attach your phone to a remote camera some way of triggering the pictures elsewhere then that is the way to go as well but now we're gonna look at how to do rig removal within the app so here are all of the pictures that we just took of the bunny moving up and down and the process for doing rig removal you want to select the first picture that requires the rig to be painted out [Music] and then you can see at the top right hand corner there's a square icon if you click on there you can scroll across and select your masking frame and that is the clean picture that you took earlier and that means when you use the eraser tool that it's going to show that clean picture through the circle with the dot in the middle at the top right allows you to change the brush size of the eraser so you can make this bigger or smaller if you're getting close to your object you might want to make it smaller to make it easier to paint around it this can be a little bit fiddly especially when you're using your finger to get things accurate but you also want to make sure that you're erasing the shadow in the area around it as well to get a really neat job now also you can see at the top there is a minus eraser tool and a plus eraser tool so the minus is what you use to get rid of your rig to paint the rig out if you happen to erase too much maybe you accidentally erase a part of your character you can use the plus tool to bring the picture back so use your finger again in the same way and it will bring the image back now i'm just doing this quite crudely just to show you the process and how you do it obviously if you were doing this for real you would do it a lot neater but this just basically shows you where all the tools are and hopefully gives you a feel for how you can make objects or characters fly jump float in your own stop-motion films
